  1. They also didn't have the best coaching staff during the Rivers years. For the life of me, I never understood firing Schotenheimer and hiring Norv.
  2. Watching the Chargers and can't help but think that they have had some of the better quarterbacks in NFL history. Dan Fouts, Philip Rivers, Drew Brees (for a short time) and now Justin Herbert appears to be good. And yet, not a single SB appearance for any of them. Their one SB appearance was with Stan Humphries at qb. I don't think there is another team in the NFL that has done so little with so much.
  3. Eventually, he will need to learn to get the ball out quicker. If he can do that, and be accurate, he could be very good. If not, his path will be more difficult.
  4. He has played well, no doubt about it. But at some point, defenses will just play contain and he will have to beat people with his arm. In truth, Detroit adjusted today, and he wasn't able to do anything on the last drive. How he reacts to those adjustments will determine whether he becomes great, or just another almost good enough.
  5. When he had to throw today, he wasn't good. In the 4th qtr, 3-7, with a pick 6 and two sacks. He may eventually be a good qb, it's too early to tell at this point. But right now, if defenses contain his running (admittedly not an easy thing), he generally doesn't look good.
  6. I think Mahomes is more of a dual threat than Young was. Mahomes can run very well, he just doesn't do it often (doesn't need to).
  7. Mahomes ability to escape and throw the ball on the run is imo what sets him apart from any current qb.
  8. Wasn't a catch but with no timeout's, I guess Buffalo couldn't challenge.
  9. Reminds me of this. Joe Pisarcik's Horrible Handoff Leads to Miracle at Meadowlands! | NFL's Worst Plays Ever - YouTube
  10. Butker missed a xp for the second week in a row. If he were a panther, the board would be crucifying him right now.
  11. Jags offense looks pretty bad today. Started the game with an onside kick that they recovered, went nowhere. Then recovered a KC fumble, went nowhere. Now down 14-0.
  12. Wake's defense is better this year than it has been in years past. Still not great, but better. But in the last two games, the offense has turned the ball over 11 times, and several of those turnovers were in Wake territory. They had 8 turnovers in the second half against Louisville. Two of them were pick sixes. Three others gave the ball to Louisville inside the Wake 30-yard line. If they can avoid the turnovers, I think they win. If not, it's going to be a long day.
  13. I agree, although I will say that Foreman's ability to push the pile and break tackles is fairly impressive.
  14. Depends on your definition of top 10 qb's but looking at the stats for this year, Tua and Burrow only.
  15. Agreed. I spent ten years in the military, and the leaders who spent so much time yelling accomplished nothing.
  16. Fwiw, it took us so long and so many draft picks to get a solid receiver who is not a head case and can stay healthy, that it surprises me how many are willing to let him go for a couple of draft picks.
  17. I believe I will live till I am 80 years old. But I won't know for sure until I actually do it. The reality is, you pick the guy you think has the best shot at becoming an NFL star. You hope that guy is more Peyton Manning and less Ryan Leaf. But if it doesn't work out, you try again.
  18. No such thing as 100% sure. When you draft, you take a shot, and hope it works. Anybody that says they are 100% sure is lying.
  19. Wow, great stand by the Titans. Well, they give it up on 4th down.
  20. Surprised that wasn't a roughing the pa penalty on TN.
  21. I agree, although in fairness, when healthy, Henry makes a lot of run defenses look bad.
  22. It starts off a little slow, but gets better as it goes along.
  23. Taylor Heinke just threw a 49 yard pass to Curtis Samuel.
