  1. Maybe it will, but it shouldn't. Didn't Bryce Young have some amazing comeback against Auburn or one of the other SEC teams?
  2. Bama is going to get two td's in four minutes.
  3. If Vanderbilt wins, does that mean the Panthers are great (the Georgia State Panthers that beat Vanderbilt recently)?
  4. I don't think its that bad. Teams at the end of the year can turn out quite different from how they start. If some of the teams can learn to play some defense, they could be decent to good at the end of the season.
  5. I don't think so, but they certainly have a shot to at this point. Who knows, maybe they will bring back the Tony Dorsett/Dan Marino days.
  6. Fwiw, I think he went from a rock to a hard place, but to each his own.
  7. Did he? I mean going from us to Chicago doesn't exactly appear to be much of an upgrade. Williams had a decent game last week, and might eventually work out, but if he doesn't, Moore will continue his history of playing for teams that have terrible passing attacks. Maybe he will get lucky and Chicago will trade him to a team with a legit attack if they aren't in contention this year.
  8. As long as we turn around and trade Taylor for Carrie Underwood and a singer to be named later.
  9. Why not trade him for Mahomes straight up? I mean if we are discussing things that will never happen.
  10. Ironically, that may be a good thing. With a rookie qb who runs like he does, might be better off if we don't force him to scramble much.
  11. I was in the Navy during Hugo, but deployed to the Med. From what I remember though, the damage was more concentrated in South Carolina with some in North Carolina/Virginia. Also, both the military, and maybe the National Guard, was larger then. Smaller area to cover with more assets. With this storm, the damage is far more widespread and flooding inland is far far worse. Regardless, the NC NG was on the ground and operating Saturday. That is a fact.
  12. Since when has that ever stopped anyone here from arguing. lol I spent time in planning sessions for military movements, occasionally including humanitarian missions but it was a long time ago. I remember just enough to know that moving these units is not just a case of hey, lets jump in them and fly to a spot and fly to a spot.
  13. They were in Asheville Saturday morning. The reason more private helicopters were seen is that private helicopters outnumber military and national guard helicopters in the state of NC by a significant number. Helicopters from other states, from military bases in other states, and even from those in the eastern part of the state take time and planning to get there. And the first thing the military does when a hurricane is approaching is to move them somewhere where they will be safe, because damaged helicopters don't do anyone much good. This is an article from Saturday. Where is the National Guard? How many deployed for Helene in NC (citizen-times.com)
  14. The regional games are generally the only ones I watch.
  15. The death toll from this storm is already the worst in NC history, and is certain to rise.
  16. Fwiw, he is probably a little more physical than Walker. Our two wins last year happened in large part due to Hubbard picking up some tough yards, setting up the final fg with the clock expiring.
  17. Might just be perception on my part, but it seems like PI penalties (offense and defense) are up this year.
  18. Detroit trying to keep Seattle in the game.
  19. They look like us vs the Saints. Detroit is not much better.
  20. Fwiw, the article doesn't say what Morgan wanted to do. It just says he didn't dissent/disagree with his boss. Those are two different things and we have no if Morgan dissented in private or what the relationship was between Morgan and Fitterer. The one who did dissent was fired, so maybe Morgan knew better than to air his dissent.
  21. Assuming we do get a high pick, why? QB is a far more important position than any other on the field, and there usually is no way to know how good one will be until he gets in the NFL and plays a few years. Any projections made (ie this years draft class has great qb's or bad qb's) is just a guess. So if we think a particular player has a shot, we should take it. IMO, the if we draft them high, they have to play right away is heavily flawed. You draft based on what you think they might be. You play them based on what they actually are at the time they put on the uniform. I would prefer any rookie, regardless of where they are drafted, gets worked into the starting lineup. There are exceptions to this of course, but generally speaking, it's probably better for the team, and for them.
  22. Several of the great qb's sat for a year or two before becoming starters.
  23. They can and would look at it regardless of how it was called on the field.
