    didn't know that, but it does suck if so. I do think all this boycott/petition crap is ridiculous. If you don't want to go, then don't go. Tepper wants to field a winning team. He just isn't very good at it. But he isn't going to sell the team, nor is the NFL going to force him out. So we just have to hope that either he gets better, or he gets lucky (ala Robert Kraft).

    Well, it does hurt the concession sales. Doesn't really hurt Tepper much (if at all), but the guys who sell food and other items do struggle.

    Its a little better, but not significantly so. They allow 4 ypc, we allow 4.1. Both teams tend to give up some long gains between the twenties. But their red zone defense is better than ours. IMO, if their backup plays poorly, we have a shot. If he plays fairly well, its another long Sunday for us.

    I would think that Arizona is in decent shape. They have some cap space next year, and they are in good shape draft wise. Kyler Murray may not be the next Pat Mahomes, but he might have a lot of talent around him.

    We should also not forget that Bakker looked his worst by far when he played for us. Seemed to indicate that our issues with the passing game were more than just issues with Mayfield. And Mayfield is having a solid year with Tampa. He is the best qb in the NFC south. Not a very high bar I know, but given how horrible he looked with us, well I am sure he is fairly happy.

    True, but I was actually referring to us playing them a few weeks ago. They are the statistically the worst pass defense we have played this year.

    Statistically, Tampa is the worst pass defense we have faced. Good news for us is that the Jaguars (statically) are even worse than Tampa and Green Bay.

    That was another terrible throw by Purdy, but he got lucky.

    Irrelevant. They won and that is all that matters. And they won at KC, and dominated the Cowboys. And they destroyed the Dolphins the last time they played them. They are probably the hottest team in the AFC right now. In the year we went to the Superbowl, we barely beat several teams. This isn't college. This is the pros and unexpected close games happen.

    On the NFC side. On the AFC side, I think any of 4 teams could end up being the representative. Bills are hot, Dolphins can put up a lot of points, and with Mahomes, you can never count out KC.

    Personally, I am taking a wait and see attitude. I didn't get as low as some based on the early season struggles, and I am not going to get too high on yesterday's game. But I was glad to see something positive.

    Sometimes its about getting in sync with the receivers. I remember during our first superbowl run it seemed that Delhomme and Smith played well together from the beginning, but it took Jake and Moose several games before they really started clicking. Once they did, the offense took off.

    I have seen the narrative from several people that they are a bad defense. We have played bad defenses this year (Tampa and Detroit to name a couple) and made them look good. Playing well against a bad defense is hopefully the first step to eventually playing well against a good defense.

    Maybe, but it sure would have been nice if we had been able to pressure the passer yesterday. Of course, one of the few times, we did, Gross-Mattos got called for a penalty for breathing too hard on Love, so maybe you are right.

    Ickey did ok yesterday, but still struggles in pass blocking. Hopefully, it will improve. Brady Christensen coming back next year will help a lot with the guards, assuming he can stay healthy.

    He makes plays, especially running with the ball. And while we have some guys who can catch, we need at least one guy who scares teams after he catches it. Right now, Marsette is the only guy on the team who has that ability.

    We played other bad defenses this year. We made them look good. Its nice to have a credible offense, even if it is against a bad defense. Its a step forward.

    I don't know if bryce is going to work out. I have seen good and bad. But all QBs miss throws. Tom Brady missed throws. What we want is to eventually get to the point that Bryce makes significantly more than he misses.

    Brown is doing what he is supposed to do, but the rest of the defensive line is not good.

    This is what happens when you are a bad team. Defense has been carrying the team all year. Offense hasn't done much. So on a day when the offense actually looks almost adequate, defense is getting abused.
