  1. QB and it would be nice to see the team get better in a few other areas. Running game, rushing the passer etc...
  2. The drops didn't help much either. I do wonder if the early drops impacted his confidence a little. But his pocket presence was terrible.
  3. Occam's razor could apply to either playing him or not playing him though. Simplest approach - playing him as teams have always done Simplest approach - sitting him because a few reps in a preseason game are irrelevant.
  4. Meh. I think people feel that way only because its been done that way in the past. IMO, preseason is immensely important for the second/third/fourth stringers, but for the known starters, I doubt it really matters much. I know that most of you are probably thinking of Bryce, but the reality is that the 15 or so passes he would have made in preseason are highly unlikely to make any difference in his performance this year.
  5. Northern Davidson County. The building I work in lost power and the generators had to kick in. Today is my work from home day and I missed it. Fortunately, the power in my house flickered, but mostly stayed on.
  6. Here is the list of stations in NC carrying the game. I am thinking Hickory would get charlotte channels, but I am not sure. Panthers Television and Radio | Carolina Panthers - Panthers.com
  7. It might be available on a local affiliate. For example, in the Triad it is available on wfmy channel 2 (cbs).
  8. I'm not going to worry about discerning anything. Just going to enjoy some stress free and largely meaningless Panthers football.
  9. The mens 100 meter was interesting. Incredibly close finish.
  10. You ask if anyone was watching. I just answered your question. A lot of people are watching. I watched a couple of events, mainly because the wife likes them

  12. Given how much money we spent on the oline, there should be improvement. If we get even adequate play out of center and left tackle, it should be fairly dramatic improvement.
  13. I don't necessarily agree with it, but the reality is that in the long run of the season, it won't make much of a difference. The reality is that he will get more repos in the first half of the first game than he would in the first and second preseason game.
  14. I didn't really say struggled for two years. I said struggled this year. He should start showing something at a minimum by next year. That being said, two of our own. Moose didn't do much his first or second year. 24 catches with an injury his first season and only 27 catches his second season even though he played 13 games. He exploded in his third season. Our fan base now would have labeled him a bust after the second season. And Steve Smith who was mostly a special teamer his first season (albeit a very good one), came on in his second season and exploded in the third (SB) season. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Kelvin Benjamin has the best rookie season of any receiver we have ever had and fell apart.
  15. Right now, the projected track has it moving up the middle of the state, although the heaviest rain might be on the eastern side. I know in the Triad the weather guessers are calling for about a 95% chance of rain on Friday.
  16. I have seen several pundits say that starters shouldn't play in preseason. Eventually, more teams may buy into it. IMO, if your starter is Patrick Mahomes, no point at all in playing him. But if its Bryce Young, well he probably should be playing.
  17. Why? If he struggles this year, but becomes a pro bowl all-star by season three, is anyone going to care that he struggled in year one?
  18. If Brooks doesn't becomes a good player by his second season, then he is worth the pick. If not, then he is probably not worth the pick. Same with Leggett.
  19. Not surprised. In fact, I hope they take their time and ensure he is 100% before he sees the field. IMO, his selection was always about what he might do for us next season and for a few years after that.
  20. That is true with probably 90% of players regardless of position. The number of them that look great their first year are exceedingly rare.
  21. There was a restaurant years ago that advertised boundless wings for a set price. They didn't last long.
  22. Given how much money we spent upgrading the offensive line, I would think that the oline should be significantly improved. And if it improves, so should the running game. And our receiver group should be improved, although showing that improvement depends a lot on Bryce.
  23. It doesn't matter what I would give him. I do think that unless he just looks awful, throwing a lot of picks with most completions being dumpoffs, the coach will give him the full season.
