I don't think they can keep the entire defense together. They are going to have to pick and choose which players they keep and hope that they can draft well enough to replace the ones they lose. In truth, that's the way it is with any really good team these days. A Marquee qb such as Brady can go a long way towards keeping a team consistent, but the team has to be good at putting solid talent around that qb (New England for example). Otherwise, you look like New Orleans did last year.

Winston's work ethic impressing in OTA's
Davidson Deac II replied to nctarheel0619's topic in Carolina Panthers
I have no idea if he will make it in the NFL or not. He certainly has a good shot at it, but I don't buy the losing play-makers excuse. He still had more playmakers and overall talent around him than the majority of FSU's opponents. -
Anyone hiring IT Guy ( current job ending soon)
Davidson Deac II replied to Biggdaddi1022's topic in Huddle Lounge
Only advice I can offer is look at smaller companies. Most of the bigger ones require specific skill sets. For example, one employer I know of has several positions open in information security, ranging from security architecture specialist to java programmers. All of the positions pay very well, but generally require that you have spent 5-10 years working in that specific area. -

IT is a fairly generic term. What area of IT do you work in? Network, desktop, software, some type of helpdesk position, or something else? -
But it will give the Huddle something to complain about when we lose a game by 1 when riverboat goes for 1 the whole game instead of two.

I don't think it will mean that many more 2pt conversions. From the 15 will only slightly decrease the percentage of made extra points. From 99 to 98 percent or something along that line

If we do, teams will adapt and after a little while, it won't work as well.

Don't agree that they are the team to beat. The could be good this year but they have a 36 year old qb who was never as good as some Dallas fans thought anyway, and their premier running back has a history of injuries. Their top defensive end is going to miss half the season or more. They may get better this year, but they do have a number of question marks. Team to beat in the NFC is still Seattle until someone actually beats them.

Saw it today and I liked it, although not as much as the first avengers or the Dark Knight. In most of these movies, the villain can make or break the movie, and while Ultron wasn't terrible, he certainly wasn't as good a villain as Loki/Tom Hiddleston.

Many don't do pro day 40's unless they screw up the ciombine. Funchess did say he was up late doing interviews the night before, and was simply tired. Don't know how true it is, but I am not sure if it matters all that much. A 6-4 230lbs receiver who can run 4.5 can be a very effective weapon. If nothing else, we could line him up at tight end sometimes with G.O. on the other side, along with Benjamin and Brown at the wideouts. That could be a very effective 3rd down set.

I find I wear them more and more. Especially on the days I work from home. The advantage of getting older is you don't give a crap what people (other than your wife) think about what you wear. I do hate sandals though. Hate walking in the damn things.

Patriots ineligible receiver play is out
Davidson Deac II replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is not going to end well. That analogy only works if the Patriots were allowed to do it, but no one else was. -

Agreed, it wasn't cheating in any way. I do agree it needed to be changed though. -
Saying that he expects Oher to be the starter doesn't necessarily mean he thinks Oher is the answer at left tackle. Unless the question is, who are we going to give a shot to prove himself. We could pickup someone in the draft as insurance, or even to groom in case Oher doesn't show us much more than Bell did. I wouldn't expect him to say Oher is a temp replacement until we find our real lt, even if he is thinking it.

How many time do you wear jeans before washing them?
Davidson Deac II replied to j2sgam's topic in Huddle Lounge
I wash them before I wear them for the first time. Don't have any idea where they have been or who has tried them own before I put me inside of them. -
Williams has definitely been overpaid, but that is not his fault, its the fault of the front office. Lets face it, we haven't used him very much. He has been splitting carries with Stewart, Tolbert, and Newton. But until this last season, he ypc has been pretty solid. He did struggle this year, but injuries and poor offensive line play were a big part of that. Its certainly not his fault that we were supposedly a running team that didn't use its running backs effectively. Its been a cause of frustration to me over the last few years that we paid a ton of money to Stewart and Williams, but we used both of them sparingly either by design or due to injury. I think DW could still have some gas in the tank, perhaps enough for Pitt to get some decent use out of him. I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see Williams get 400-500 yards at about 4.5 a carry for Pitt next year if he stays healthy.

Ted Williams on why he chose the Panthers

So can we call him the Splendid Splinter? -
The Panthers absolutely need to give Jake Long an offer
Davidson Deac II replied to Matthias's topic in Carolina Panthers
It is low risk if we can get him cheap. I doubt we could get him cheap though. -
That is definitely suspicious.

There are a few perhaps. For example, if they were asking for directions. What did they talk about with your son? Don't get me wrong, I agree you have every right to be suspicious. And in fact, if the conversation itself was suspicious, it might be a good idea to let the police know.

Sam Bradford + picks traded to Philly for Nick Foles
Davidson Deac II replied to jamos14's topic in Carolina Panthers
Maybe, but I don't see much benefit for either side. Eagles get an average qb who is injury prone. Rams get an average qb who hasn't played as much, but did miss some time with injuries this year. Rams get a couple of picks, Eagles get one, maybe two. Seems to me the teams swapped problems. Seems like they swapped a late model Sedan for another late Model Sedan. The Rams did free up a little bit of cap space. Who knows, maybe they will now send Foles and a 1st round pick.to New Orleans for Brees. -

I am glad we aren't making any of these psycho trades. Most of them smack of desperation. Seattle makes a bit of sense for getting Graham, but if he doesn't develope chemistry with Wilson and company, they gave up a probowl center (albeit an often injured one) and a first.
