Prime Tom Brady or Prime Aaron Rodgers - Who would you want?
Davidson Deac II replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
The NFC North was just about as bad as the AFC east for most years. The Vikes have been decent, but Detroit and Chicago have most been bad during Rodgers time. Green Bay's failures have been in the playoffs mostly. -
I don't tend to buy types of stocks, (green, oil, financial etc...). I look at specific companies. Are they under valued, over valued, well managed, poorly managed etc... I bought UAL at 20 or so per share, sold it at 41. Bought Exxon at 35-40 per share, sold it at 44. Bought both because I felt they were undervalued and would eventually bounce back. Sold them when I made some money and didn't want to stick around for the long haul. I would consider buying green stocks, if I find the right company. But I may hold off on buying anything for a while.

Sold all my Exxon stock this week, made a decent profit overall. Haven't decided what to get into next.
-
Still letting my Exxon stock ride. Its down about 10% from where it was when I bought. Might have to sit for a while to make my money back. On the flip side, my 401k is doing fairly well, all things considered.
-
I made a significant amount on UAL, took the profits before they dropped again, then sunk it into Exxon. Its down a litte right now, but I expect it to go up within a year or two. In the meantime, they pay a nice dividend. Also bought a company called Mitek, but I am beginning to think that one wasn't a wise purchase.

Wearing or not wearing mask will not impact restaurants going bankrupt. I went to a restaurant last week. Wore my mask inside and got to the table, then was allowed to take it off. The Social distancing thing is more problematic for them, but to be honest, so few people are going out right now, that I am not sure it matters.

This is terrible. One of the most idiotic things Grump has done yet. If I were a hospital administrator, I would make a significant effort to ignore this requirement.
-
So it makes them mudbloods? Damn Muggles

Read this today. Where in the constitution does it say that the government can make you wear a mask? Loved this rebuttal. In the same place it says they can make you wear pants. lol

There is something called social fixer that allows the user to filter out certain things on facebook. I use it and filter everything with the words Trump/Biden/Flags/Clinton and several other words. Even so, some things slip thru. But it does help.
-
You can probably throw facebook in there as well. My wife uses it to communicate with her distant family. If not for that, we would have given up our account long ago.

Not really. They tend to be no more or less dangerous than most other stock. Wells stock futures depend on how well the new CEO handles the PR side and can keep their names out of the media.

Some good news on the job/economic front today. Unemployment numbers are better than expected. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/june-jobs-report-preview-economists-expect-the-us-added-3-million-payrolls-lowered-unemployment-rate-170827884.html

Went to the Mall yesterday and fortunately, 90% of the people were wearing a mask. Hopefully that helps us get the numbers under control a bit. Even the fools that refuse to wear one have said they will just stay home, so the mask order might accomplish its goal, one way or the other.

I loathe Trump, don't really care what he does or doesn't do. I just think some people have some idea that the president gets time off from being president. He doesn't.
-
The narrative that the president plays to much golf, or spends to much time at a vacation house is absurd. With technology now, the president's location isn't very important. How much golf the President plays is irrelevant, except perhaps as appearances go. Being president is not an hourly job where you clock in. Its a 24/7 job.

I trust the magic 8 ball more, seriously.

Its beyond idiotic that wearing or not wearing a mask has become a political issue. Shows just how far our politics have sunk.

Some good news regarding treatment of the most severe cases. https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2020/06/16/878069587/early-results-show-benefit-of-steroid-for-very-sick-covid-19-patients Legitimate study that shows some promise. It won't prevent the disease, but does show that it can help those that already have the disease to survive and recover.

It is stupid, but Trump has said a lot of stupid things. He has so many to choose from, not sure if this even makes the top 10.

Yeah, but this is Merica's team. Seriously though, I doubt one or two players getting it would have an impact, but if it spread to several, who knows.
-
Just saw a report that Ezekiel Elliot tested positive. If more of their stars start testing positive, could have a dramatic impact on the NFL season.

I suppose its not the only reason for the waves of resurgence of the flu, but the soldiers themselves came home in waves, with the last WW1 veterans not returning until 1920. The treaty of Versailles was signed in June of 1919, and there was still over 800,000 US soldiers in Europe I believe.
