  1. I am not even talking about his time with the Panthers. He did ok in his time as a backup with Washington. I think you vastly overestimate how good other backup's are in the NFL.
  2. Time to bench the starting Duck and put in the heralded freshman duck.
  3. That might cinch the game for FSU, with Alabama only having one timeout left.
  4. How can that be. He looked fantastic last year against Southwest Texas State hair care and tire changing college. But seriously, it is to early. I don't understand the people who want to anoint him as the best when has barely played. If he had a different last name, most of us would barely know who he is.
  5. The handful that do make it are usually there because they were relatively obscure in college, decent talent on a subpar team. Jake Delhomme spent a year on the practice squad.
  6. To be honest, most qb's on the practice squad just aren't good enough to become dependable NFL backs. A few might be, but they are relatively rare.
  7. Even Jerry Jones isn't dumb enough to trade him to a division rival.
  8. At least Dallas got some great picks for Parsons. We got nothing for Norman.
  9. It is, but if they want to compete for a national championship, they have to schedule games like this. It worked for them a couple of years ago when they scheduled LSU to start the season. Well, it worked until their qb got knocked out.
  10. Well, as far as backups go, Kyle Allen is actually a decent one. Better at this point than Dalton probably. That being said, Hooker apparently had an atrocious game against the Texans.
  11. I believe that you can't compete without a good qb. But the Packers have a good qb. But if you have a good qb, then to go to and win superbowls, you have to have some great players in other positions. So yeah, he could put the Packers over the top. But with what they gave up, they better get over the top very soon.
  12. Agreed, although I do think some will go to Coker, at least at first. Hopefully, they can work Sanders in as well. One of the the things I liked about the last few games of last season is that I thought that Young and the offense did a pretty good job of spreading the ball amongst the receivers. Against Atlanta for example, there was no true number one target. We had 7 guys with 3 or more catches, and that is when an offense works best imo.
  13. I thought he started to develop good chemistry with Coker over the last half of the season.
  14. In fairness, AT missed several games last season. And so did Bryce. One would have to look specifically at games both of them played in to be accurate. Just looking at the last two games, XL had 14 targets, Thielen 12 and Coker 9, so at least for the last two games, your assessment appears to be correct.
  15. I have read here numerous times that CMC didn't want to be traded, at least not at first. All the conflicting information that he wanted to go, or that he was made when they traded him is why I usually ignore most of that stuff.
  16. I don't really care so much about the 4th round pick. The Cap space savings is a bigger benefit.
  17. For me, the first red flag was saying that it would be a five year rebuild. Then cutting Cam, and then inexplicably signing Bridgewater for a significant amount of money, basically saying that just because we were in a five year rebuild didn't me we couldn't win now. All before he coached a single game. That whole thing was just baffling. Better to just stick with Cam for his final year, see if his arm had anything left and if not, draft someone else.
  18. Not that I really believe any of them, but I trust Canales more than I do some random guy on x. And whatever desires Thielen had, it would be unprofessional to express those desires to his current employer. That being said, I have no doubt that Theilen is glad to be going back to the place where he started, and maybe to a contender. And his family spent a long time there, and probably like the place.
  19. We are just clearing Cap Space to sign Micah Parsons.
  20. My guess is they will go defense, safely or linebacker.
  21. We had 7 receivers, now we have 6. So they wouldnt need to add anyone.
  22. Those guys were great, especially Smith. Smith especially excelled at catching the ball and controlling his body at the same time (I remember a toe tapping sideline catch against the Bears that was just amazing), or getting open and burning the defender. I just think that in terms of just coming down with the ball, Thielen is probably the best I have seen in a Panthers uniform. If Tmac and Coker can continue to improve, Thielen then I imagine Thielen will get weaker coverage against him, and it will help him even more. Might get fewer catches, but more YPC.
