  1. We ran the ball 45 times yesterday (granted some of those were scrambles). And we got positive yards most times. That makes pass blocking easier. Its true that Atlanta's defense isn't that good. But I also thing having the new running back helped. He provides some speed and elusiveness that we don't have without CMC.
  2. Oh, I definitely agree. I just find it interesting that over the years, the Falcons have spent so much draft capitol on their receiving corps, but don't have much to show for it.
  3. I think with Ridley out, his options were limited.
  4. For the rookie qb's, Another rough day for Trevor Lawrence. Jaguars setting themselves up for another top two pick. And a young qb led the Jets to victory, but it wasn't Wilson. I thought Justin Fields had a pretty decent outing today. Did throw a pick (to Josh Norman), but it wasn't a bad throw, just bounced off the receivers hands. Mac Jones continues to look pretty solid.
  5. This is the average, and its from a couple of years ago, so take it fwiw. https://www.newswise.com/articles/return-to-play-after-a-concussion-is-19-days They do sometimes return sooner, just depends on the circumstances.
  6. Sam actually threw the ball fairly well today. But for a couple of critical drops, the end result might have been a little more lopsided. He still has a ton of work to do to be a decent consistent QB, but we will miss him if he is out.
  7. Its exceedingly rare these days for someone to get reported with a concussion, and be back in the game the next week.
  8. The running backs, even Hubbard after a rough start.
  9. Don't underestimate the importance of Shaq. He is the leader out there.
  10. There are some very legitimate criticisms we can apply to Darnold, but lack of heart/guts isn't one of them.
  11. We are an offensive juggernaut. 9 points against the elite Atlanta Defense is outstanding.
  12. We get at least one offensive td. But still lose.
  13. Whether we would wish it on Cam doesn't really matter I think. I will reiterate. Cam wants to play. He said he wants to play. He got vaccinated. If we call, I have no doubt he would come back. I will caveat that by saying the price would have to be right, and I doubt we would call. But I have no doubt it could get done if we were willing. I don't think we should bring him back because I think his arm is shot. But I think he would come back.
  14. Because he wants to play. If no one else is calling, I have no doubt he would return.
  15. I am not sure who his replacement should be, but I do think he will be gone after this season is done. And it will be a mutual thing, we don't want to keep him, and he doesn't want to stay.
  16. He was great when he was with the Cowgals, when he had a dominant oline, great rb/qb/wr. Since then, he has decidedly mixed results.
  17. Most things have been covered here, I will just say that imo, Asheville is a bit more expensive than Boone, but transportation is probably a little easier with major interstates and even an Airport, albeit a small one. Boone is a little more Isolated and is dominated by the college. Population of Boone is about 20,000, and App state has more than 20,000 students.
  18. I would definitely rather have the guy who doesn't have all the legal baggage (Wilson). But I don't think Wilson is really going to leave Seattle.
  19. Big money to most people. To Tepper, meh. I mean he wouldn't just throw that much away, but he doesn't have to worry about paying the grocery bill next month if he fires Rhule. The question will be if he thinks he can get someone better, or if Rhule still has a shot to improve the team?
  20. Man, if we listened to your warnings, millions of lives could have been saved. Oh wait, sorry been watching to many Marvel movies. I think most of us knew Darnold was a risk. Where our coaching staff screwed up was that we had a shot to double down, and pick a qb in the draft. With Darnold and Jones/Fields, we had a better shot that at least one of them was decent. Now we will end up having to draft a qb next year, assuming one is available.
  21. Been coming here for 15 years, and every year just about, its the same thing. Some people blame the coaching staff, the coordinators, and the head coach. Some blame the GM. Some blame the qb, or the offensive line, or the receivers, or the dline, or the secondary etc... Here is the truth though. The GM and Head coach have to get the right players and assistants. Designing the right plays is important. Then the players have to learn them, work hard and execute. None of those things is happening right now. Singling out one part of the organization is an exercise in futility. No, we didn't call good plays much of the time. There were some that just looked dysfunctional. When we did call good plays, the players didn't execute. On the interception, Sam threw the ball into a well defended area, when he had someone wide open underneath. That is on him, not the OC or the head coach. Unless you that he was told to throw it there regardless. And when he did throw the ball fairly well, our receivers looked like they had butter hands.
  22. I don't blame him for playcalling. Play calling imo is less important than talent and execution. I do blame him for helping put the offense together, and for not picking Jones or Fields with the first round pick. Of course, Ruhle gets a far greater amount of the blame for that.
  23. Yeah, I agree. If you look at Darnold's interceptions over the last three games, he has had time for most of them.
