  1. I am not sure what we should do. Glad I don't have to make the decision. But I do think one thing is certain. If we go into the season with Darnold and PJ as our only qb's, then Rhule is going to be gone after this season. And I think that would make most of our fan base happy.
  2. I know that Hurney gets a lot of criticism here, and much of it deserved. But if you look at our picks before he arrived, well to say he was a vast improvement would be an understatement. Kerry Collins Jason Peters Biankabutuka Rashard Anderson And he whose name shall not be mentioned These were our first round picks before Hurney got here.
  3. Don't live there, and I don't have a dog in this fight, but if I understand, its a revenue stream they don't currently have, right? So they aren't really giving up anything. Or maybe I am misunderstanding how it works.
  4. With Darnold at qb, we might manage to average 17points a game. Maybe we could bring back the old three yards and a cloud of dust offense.
  5. You are probably correct. But I am just saying that getting Brady and all the SB rings that go with having him made Kraft more well known than most.
  6. If not for one very lucky 6th round pick, its doubtful many people would even know who Kraft is.
  7. What if we pick a tackle this year, and the qb we draft next year is not good?
  8. Agreed. If I were in the front office, I would have picked a QB last year, even after we signed Darnold. Throw him and either Fields or Jones out there, and may the better qb win the job.
  9. Tomorrow night I am rock chalk Jayhawk.
  10. The media blitz that would come with signing Kaepernick would not be worth it for the Panthers. It would be fun to see the Cowboys or Steelers sign him. The redneck aspects of their fan bases wouldn't know what to do.
  11. Its a joke. Stole it from Ron White.
  12. He is always bragging about where he lives, but he is always complaining about living there, so I tease him a lot. In his case, I think the flooding is mainly that the land is flat, and the back yard has relatively poor drainage. And they do get a lot of heavy rain storms on the coast. Had the same issue when I lived in Virginia Beach.
  13. I have a coworder who lives in Wilmington. Says it is great because he is close to the ocean and has 52 different craft beer places he can go. I find this amusing. How many times did you go to the Ocean last summer. Twice (I went three times and I live three hours away). How many hours do you spend driving to Raleigh because the Wilmington Airport/Hair Care/Tire emporium is very expensive to fly out of? He flies 20-30 times a year, so a lot. How many times in the last 8 years has your house been damaged by Hurricanes? Three How often does your yard flood because everything is flat and you live close to a swamp. 5-6 times a year.
  14. I doubt there is any veteran we could conceivably get that would turn Rhule into a winner, unless the defense and run game improve so much next year that the qb is of secondary importance.
  15. A few years ago (2016), the Falcons had Jones and Sanu, and drafted Ridley. All we had was big slow Kelvin Benjamin, aging speedster with bad hands in Ted Ginn, and Byrd. They traded Sanu and Jones, and Ridley will have to sit out a season. Now there is a good chance Byrd will be a starter. The script certainly has flipped over the last few seasons. Our wide receiver group is certainly better than theirs. I just wish we had a qb who could avoid throwing the ball to the other team.
  16. Not that it means much on Sunday's, but Bridgewater had just about as good a college career as Justin Herbert. Had slightly more td's per season, higher completion percentage, more yards per season. Herbert was a little better at not throwing int's.
  17. Mac Jones also had a ton of NFL talent around him. In fact, he always played for the most talented team on the field. Which is why it is so difficult to predict who will be an NFL success and who will not. Every situation is different. Personally, I think Pickett has a 1 in 4 chance of being a successful NFL qb. Which is actually a fairly high number.
  18. Don't care what he says or doesn't say. I just want wins next year. Words from the owner, coach, gm etc... are irrelevant.
  19. Mahomes is not a pure pocket passer in the traditional sense. Pure pocket passer to me means a guy like Brady who stays in the pocket as long as necessary to complete the pass and only moves outside of the pocket rarely. Of course, Mahomes is not a running qb either. He can run when he needs to, he just has few designed runs. Mahomes is a very mobile qb who is equally adept at passing in the pocket, or setting up outside the pocket and or throwing on the run.
  20. The problem is we never really know if a guy is worth a specific spot until they start playing on Sundays. Prior to that, it is just a guess.
  21. I was thinking more along the lines of, it's a 50/50 chance either way.
  22. Be interesting to see if Jameis performs as well under Allen as he did under the previous coach.
