Which current players would start on the 2015 team?
Davidson Deac II replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Receivers would be DJ, Cotchery, and Ginn. I also think that Horne would start, after Tillman got injured. And Burns would definitely be in the Defensive end rotation. CMC vs Stewart would be a push. CMC is more explosive, but Stewart was a plough horse at that point. -
Panthers terminating Rock Hill project agreements

Tepper is a multibillionaire and a NFL owner. PR is going to be worse for him regardless of who is right and who is wrong. -
Panthers terminating Rock Hill project agreements
Davidson Deac II replied to Dorian Gray's topic in Carolina Panthers
Its definitely bad PR for Tepper, probably moreso than Rock Hill/York County. Regardless of what really went down, it looks bad from the outside for Tepper. If the team starts turning things around and winning games, probably won't matter much in the long run. But if they don't, then the list of negatives is going to start piling up. -
Panthers terminating Rock Hill project agreements

If they took it to mean that they would absolutely host the NFL draft, then they are idiots. And does the NFL draft even make that much money for them? Its a couple of nights. -
Panthers terminating Rock Hill project agreements

So you don't have any evidence he promised they would get the NFL draft? Fwiw, it would be a stupid thing for him to promise, and stupid for them to believe he could absolutely produce it. He doesn't control where the NFL draft is held. And the Draft is usually held in places like Las Vegas, NYC, Denver, and Cleveland. Charlotte might have a shot. Rock Hill, probably not. Don't get me wrong, the deal was probably a bad deal for Rock Hill from the beginning. But if so, they should never agreed to it in the first place. -

Did he? I saw news articles stating that both the Panthers and Rock Hill wanted to host the NFL draft, but I haven't seen any news article stating that a promise was actually made by Tepper or the NFL. -
Most of the reviews are positive. I will definitely see it when I can.

Official pick your rookie sleeper thread.

Just guessing, but Kalon Barnes might be a good pick. Hopefully, we can find a way to use all that speed. -
LeSean McCoy goes off on Eric Bieniemy
Davidson Deac II replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree about anyone on the outside not being able to get a fair read. Regarding other coaches, he had a lot of issues with the Philly coaching staff. Of course, Chip Kelly actually was a bad NFL coach. -

Andy Reid's response. Chiefs’ Reid defends Bieniemy following LeSean McCoy’s comments regarding his coaching style - Arrowhead Pride Essentially, Reid is saying Lesean Mccoy's career was nearly over and he didn't want to accept that fact. Lesean Mccoy's previous comments on Eric B. So which is it? Mccoy likes him or doesn't like him? -
If you are referring to me (since I mentioned Exxon), I have never complained about big oil, big pharma, etc... They provide a necessary product. The people that use their products are just as complicit as those who own the stocks.

I think there are some stocks to invest in. I could kick myself for selling my Exxon stock at 55 a share. I still made money on it, but its zoomed since.

A couple of Analyst I know think that the market will bottom out when the Dow reaches around 29,000. Essentially after all the nervous nellies finish their panic selling.

With 7 or 8% inflation? It is not.

Agreed, the one for one swap is the only acceptable option. We get rid of Darnold. Mayfield gets chance to show what he can do under a different team, and we can evaluate Corral for a year or so. But I think the Browns still think they can get significant draft picks for Mayfield. I don't think they will some team might be dumb enough to do it.
-
If we swapped Darnold for Mayfield, they take Darnold's cap hit while we take Mayfield's, it would essentially be a wash for us contract wise. And Mayfield is better than Darnold. By how much is debatable, but he is better. So I basically don't care if they do it, as long as we don't give up much else.

College football might be about to get real interesting

I am not talking about the next year or two, but 10-15 years down the road. If ratings continue to decline, ESPN and the others might not have the cash to actually pay them as much. -

I do wonder if the money in college football will be sustainable. Ratings are dropping and it's becoming a regional sport, South and Midwest mostly. Will ESPN and the other sports broadcaster continue to shell out ever increasing amounts of money? -

They are not the richest school (Harvard is by far), but they are tied with Texas for the wealthiest athletic program. Texas Tied for Richest College Football Program (heartlandcollegesports.com) -

They need something to make it interesting. The post season games weren't much to watch. -
Bridgewater is a better qb than Darnold. He is statistically better in most categories. He has fewer interceptions with more passing attempts. And it just seems to me that he doesn't have a tendency to throw the bad int's, although that could be more a perception colored by the bad ones that SD threw last year.

With quality QB play. Is this roster ready to go?

So over half of the starting front 7 is good? That's good to know I suppose. -
Panthers eyeing Sean Payton post Rhule?
Davidson Deac II replied to Panthercougar68's topic in Carolina Panthers
I seriously doubt this is true. Fan apathy or anger was just as bad at season's end as it was before Cam arrived. -

I enjoyed it. Not earth shattering, but worth the money and time. The meeting with Professor X was interesting, but could have been better.
