  1. I generally ignore stuff like that anyway. I guess that is why I feel a little more objective about his performance. The odds are he will not be a great NFL qb. He might be, but even with first round picks, the odds are they turn out to be less successful than expected. As a sidenote, it is ironic to think that the NFC South might have the highest number of top five draft pick qb's in the NFL, and the only one that is considered to be a really good qb is that 6th round pick in Tampa.
  2. What people declare him is irrelevant. Where he was drafted is now irrelevant. He is a rookie in the NFL, period. He may be good, or he may not.
  3. There are some gigantic over reactions to Corral's performance today. It's his first time in a game, and it was the 4th qtr of a preseason game. If you see doom and gloom because of this, you might need a xanax.
  4. Panthers with the ugliest game winning drive I have seen in a while. Assuming we do win.
  5. I agree. Our defensive line may end up being not that good, but you can't take anything from today's performance.
  6. I wish I could watch the first couple of series in the Cleveland game. Deshaun "the criminal" Watson vs Trevor "Pick six" Lawrence. Assuming either one of them play.
  7. Gettis was pretty good, but he was no Armanti Edwards.
  8. Right, there is a lot of hostility in the country now. However, I bet things like this happened before, but didn't become widespread public knowledge until the advent of social media.
  9. Fwiw, I attend 1-2 games a year, and have yet to see a fight in person. Of course, I usually sit in the upper level. By the time most of us make that climb, they are physically unable to fight.
  10. Fwiw, I spent a lot of time in Italy. Most of the food, (meat, pasta, seafood, bread, desert) was fantastic. The Pizza's, not so much. American style (even Dominos) is better. Of course, I actually wouldn't eat pizza in Italy.
  11. I would bet that virtually every NFL player that is not a kicker is probably dealing with nagging injuries at this point. I have heard more than 1 NFL player say that at no point in the season are they 100% healthy.
  12. I wish they would just turn him into a receiver, who runs the ball on occasion. Let him line up in the slot more and have Chuba and the new guy carry the load more at running back.
  13. If Darnold gets cut/traded for some late round draft pick, then its at least possible that PJ could be our third qb.
  14. Dammit, now I am hungry. If he is a good offensive coach, then he will tone it down to start the season, and add more as the season goes along.
  15. I agree, the loss of one game isn't a big deal. For that matter, I think people tend to over estimate the importance of preseason games in general. Baker will get a drive or two the first game, maybe three the second game and a few more the third game. What happens in traing camp will be more important. Fwiw, assuming Mayfield is the starter, I think they will keep it simple at first and work in more things as the season rolls along.
  16. Personally, I think the reps issue is not that big of a deal. It wasn't last year. In fact, Darnold looked decent while sharing time in tc/preseason. The issues came when he got into his 4th and 5th games.
  17. Our run defense was decent last year. Our ypc allowed was in the top half of the league. And I think it will be better this year. Perhaps not great, but better due to more experience and hopefully a better secondary that will allow the front seven to focus on stopping the run.
  18. Winning games and winning them without some type of Deshaun Watson style incidents.
  19. Fair, but then Stafford missed 19 of his first 32 potential starts, so you could have said the same thing about him after two years.
  20. Probably haven't seen enough of Wolford to say for certain, but it seems the Rams are happy with their qb situation. I think the author was just making up crap when he mentioned the Rams acquiring Darnold.
  21. Agreed. And one thing I have noticed about DJ is that he great at running after the catch. The problem with that is to take full advantage of the ability, you need a qb who can hit the receiver in stride. I can't remember the last time we had a qb who could do that consistently.
  22. Getting the ball in the end zone is up to the offense as a whole, not to any one individual. Prime Jerry Rice would have struggled to get the ball in the end zone with our offense last year.
  23. Hope we can get something for Darnold, but at this point, there is no reason to think Darnold is a better option at qb for the Rams than Wolford is.
