I was a big fan of Miller last year and happy we were able to bring him back. I thought he would be a cap casualty. He by no means was an All-Pro for us, but part of that 26-28 year old group of low risk players that we keep bringing in. Some turn out like Anderson....some turn out like Weatherly.

If the asking price is our 2nd, I’d consider it. Allows us to take Sewell/Slater at 8 and have two young bookend T’s for the next decade.

Somebody will want to move up to 3 for a QB. Denver, SF, or us. For all of the back-and-forth with QB FAs, I hope we move to 3 and take "our guy" that doesn't go at 1 and 2. I'm tired of all of this guess work and the burned bridge with Teddy. Get Fields/Lance/Wilson at 3 and call it a day.....without giving up this year's 2nd round pick.

In an article I read about him, it did state that if Pittsburgh can't find a trade partner, they would cut him. I wonder if Tepper and Colbert would work something out to keep away from a bidding war and toss Pitt a 6th/7th rounder. We would have to instantly re-work the contract I believe. High $$ amount in '21 and I think he's on his final year, so I would think a 3-year deal where we kick the can down the road to '22.

I LOVED the Reddick/Perryman signings, but TBH, i think Arnold and Moore are going to make a lot of folks happy too. Arnold just turned 26 earlier this week and went to an insanely tiny school Wisconsin-Platteville and went undrafted. Good on him for making the most of his opportunity. Good chance these flashes that he's shown in limited snaps could turn into something fruitful. Could he really be any worse than Ian "145 yards in 2020" Thomas or any of the other bums we've had since Greg left us?

This looks like close to the price to get to 3, IMO. Maybe next year's pick ends up a 3rd instead of the fifth, but this seems like the cost it would take to swap with MIA. Whatever we do, we have to hold onto our 2nd round pick this year. We shouldn't be drafting this high for awhile and that 2nd round pick will allow us to add a LT or CB1. One more offseason with much more cap space and no reason we don't win the NFC South in 2022.

The opportunity cost of sending our 2nd for Jackson would probably be an OT. So if we go OT in the 2nd (should be the move if we don't trade for JC) we would have a pretty big hole at CB. By the same token, if we trade our 2nd for Jackson, we would have a need on our OL. Hard to fill both until the fourth round, which at that point, the question would be on getting a starting caliber CB or OL. Would we rather have a proven young CB1 or a 2nd round gamble (no pun intended).

Oh, for sure we'll have to pay. I just didn't think it would be anywhere near what the top CBs are getting. I also am of the opinion that we have more space now after all of the Pats' signings to make this happen. I was glazing over Spotrac's page and looked like we have 15M more currently. Not sure how updated it is, or perhaps I'm reading it wrong.

I tried to look back and see if this has already been posted, but I do apologize if this has already been talked about in depth. I think this needs to be our next move. 6'1" 198lbs - 25 years old 2nd round tender placed by NE and after their spending spree, as well as having Gilmore/Mills there already, I think we can swoop in and scoop our CB1. Yes, it would cost us a 2nd...a high 2nd, but the final piece that is truly missing on this insanely athletic, young defense would be acquired in this scenario. I have personally hoped that any QB trade (DW or moving up in the draft) would not include our 2nd rounder this year, so this would allow us to get Jackson. I was sleeping on this kid big time. He has faced a ton of action since Gilmore is NE's Revis/PP shut down guy. His story is littered with having to hustle and prove himself....and he has. A friend of mine is a diehard NE fan....not the a$$hole kind that thinks Brady is God, but a very grounded and intelligent, analytical fan that I've had countless conversations about football with. He told me, "I'd argue Jackson is the best CB in the league that nobody is talking about. After the first year that I saw him, I wanted NE to give him a long-term deal to lock him down for the next decade. First two years, had one of the lowest passer ratings against him. His third year (last year) 2nd in the league in INTs." Jackson came out of Maryland the same year DJ did, so I wonder if Moore and him are in contact. Maybe DJ can get in Snow/Rhule/Fitterer's ear and make this happen. Let's do this!!

Love the signing. Curious about where these guys line up for Snow. Our LB corps went from meh, to niiiiiiice real quick today. Reddick-Perryman-Shaq with Chinn patrolling is NASTY.

In thinking back to the 2018 draft, there were 4 QBs that draftniks and analysts were discussing in the same breath as the infamous '83 draft. Darnold and Rosen were perceived as the top pick and Mayfield was nipping at their heels. Week of the draft Mayfield vaulted into #1 slot and the Jets looked like the big winners when Darnold fell in their lap. Rosen was highly touted and Allen was the wild card that you had to be patient with. Fast forward, and I feel like this draft class is showing a lot of parallels to '18. Lawrence looks like a lock with three prospects vying for that next spot. Doubtful that all four end up as elite QB1s, so one could argue the gamble of moving up vs. a proven 26-year old is easier said than done.

That's a Bradberry contract just given to Griffin. I know there's a new GM in town with Seattle ties, but IMO, JB >> Griffin.

Perhaps the Panthers see if a QB drops to 8, but if the Jets go QB at 2 and there isn't one at 8, I see sending our 2nd for Darnold. Fields/Lance/Wilson are the dream, but we give up the least amount of current and future assets for Darnold and still get a cornerstone on the OL at 8. Draft Slater or Sewell at 8 to pair up with Moton for the next decade giving Darnold something Cam never had. We would lose our pick at 40, but could still get a quality player in the 3rd...maybe Jabril Cox from LSU or perhaps an IOL. Send Teddy out for a third day pick too in addition to our two additional sixth rounders that we got this past week. I hope we make a move for a TE in FA. Jonnu Smith is who I want. I could see Fitterer bringing Griffen at CB over from Seattle. I'd like to kick the tires on Malik Hooker too.

Lance def had several Sunday throws that not every prospect is capable of dropping in. He did have some overthrows and a few off-target too. Footwork looked solid, his movement from under center and "shotgun" looked great and he threw with a purpose on the run. He also had a few "ooooohs and ahhhs" kind of pretty throws too. As long as folks are patient with him, no reason he won't be a great pick for us long-term.

I wonder if this tweet and today's leak about the restructure was what CMC posted about.

I know the league is not big on handing out big contracts to RBs and by no means does having one equate to hoisting the Lombardi. However, CMC reminds me a lot of Luke, but on offense. His work ethic, his passion for the game and how he dominates while he's on the field....driving opposing coordinators crazy. If CMC gets us Watson, I'm ok with losing him, but it is really nice to have a weapon like McCaffrey on our squad.

I'm kinda over McClain. Nothing against him as he is a well-respected member of sports media, but I feel like the Texans are using him as a puppet. His reports fluctuate like the weather, and I'm tired of keeping up.

My ideal trade that is through Panther blue lenses: 2021 FRP 2022 FRP 2023 FRP CMC Robby YGM * Teddy if they want...but I doubt they take on the salary of CMC, Teddy and RA. It stings, but doesn't cripple us. I think their offer would be: 4 draft picks instead of 3 DJ instead of Robby Burns or Chinn instead of YGM This is where the negotiating game will be critical and how much Tepper chimes in to get DW. Who will blink first.... Houston, who just lost their franchise WR and DE over the last year and now has a disgruntled QB that their fans know wants out, but the team is standing firm on. Carolina, who has shown their hand in being needy for a QB and has assets to offer.

Long-term, how much would we be on the hook for in dead cap after 2021? If CMC is part of a deal for DW, would that allow us to add, say, Samuel + a TE (Jonnu/Everett/Henry) if the contract is on the low end in year 1 and then we make '22 the year where it accelerates? Not necessarily fully backloaded, but if '21 has a minimal impact and then '22 absorbs more when our cap opens up. I'm sure Teddy would get moved at some point to free up some cap too. Bring Mike Davis back and/or draft someone like Sermon in R3 or R4 to pair up with Bonnafon & Smith.
