  1. Hoping one of Rush, Tice or Kuntz is there at 145. Pumped about the Zavala selection.
  2. Love it! Not as sexy as some would want, but outstanding pick. Played beside Ickey at State and will allow BC to slide to swing tackle/guard.
  3. Wow...so many armchair scouts that watch a few YT vids and play around on their Playskool First Draft Simulator and have more insight than paid scouts/coaches. We needed an EDGE and people were begging for one at 39, so we get one at 80. This dude is a physical specimen and is a great compliment to Burns. Yes, he's 25 and doesn't have mind blowing stats, but can we at least trust the selection of this insanely well put together coaching staff that everyone was soooo enamored with. Maybe they know what they're doing? This isn't Madden.
  4. Porter, Jr. Mayer Avila Torrence White Ojulari In R2, we pick 8th as of now. I'm guessing both Hooker and Levis goes early tonight, so this is my short list of six players I hope are in Process Blue by the end of tonight. There's also guys like Brents, Musgrave, Washington, Mingo, Hyatt and Downs still there for the taking too. I hope Trader Fitts has his phone charged up.
  5. I'd say NFLN, but I'm watching on the Apple TV app and these same 5 or so commercials might get old real quick. ABC would be option numero dos.
  6. I wouldn't mind seeing Shenault back there. Dude is thick and think of that Corderelle type on short yardage goalline situations would be great. I also like Roschon, Bigsby and Ibrahim for that physical runner and should all be available on day 3.
  7. Would love Roschon if he makes it to the 4th. Excellent complimentary back to Miles for the first year or two and could be a lowkey get that eventually becomes a 3-down back.
  8. I don't want to read too much into how/when they scheduled the Big 4 QBs coming in, but I can't get over how odd it is. Makes you wonder if BY is 1 and AR is 2, with Stroud/Levis behind them. Not only were both scheduled on the same day...something we haven't done, but also on a day that a presser was schedueld to discuss the draft. Maybe if they were in during the AM and the press conference was like 4pm, maybe it would make more sense.
  9. Yup....that's why I put that very fact in my statement.
  10. Interesting. I was thinking maybe Houston kicks the tires too. Take BPA defensive player du jour at 2, add another weapon at 12 and reunite Lance with a familiar face at OC.
  11. I heard Archie Manning say that BY reminded him of Fran Tarkenton. I truthfully don't know much about Tarkenton except he was a HOFer and went to three SBs. A much...much different time, but he was 6'0" 190 and had a similar escapability and ability to find passing windows off-platform. More of a scrambler and runner than Young, but I'm assuming Manning knew Tarkenton's IQ and field-general type of play.
  12. From the GM last month: “We didn’t want to have that big gap in there,” Fitterer told The Athletic last week at the NFL owners’ meetings in Phoenix. “We thought the sweet spot in this class is somewhere between 20 and 45, just really good value in there. At 61, that’s a heck of a fall, and you’re gonna watch a lot of good players (go off the board).” I'll go with the GM after watching him keep the pick out of the blockbuster trade to #1 overall over Klein and others speculating. I think RR does a ton of great work and Josh does have an ear to the ground within the org, but as most are doing this time of year, pure speculation. We should get a franchise EDGE or CB there...maybe guard or tight end too.
  13. Exactly! Albright is wrong as much as he's right, and lately, he's been off more. Though he has sources, I put him well below the Schefty's, Jeremiah's and Mort's.
  14. There's still some good band-aid fixes for a year like Floyd, Ngakoue, and Ingram. If there's an OLB that fits the BPA slot at 39, I think we take him....but I don't see a reach when there's two guys there with familiarity with Reich and Evero. Rome wasn't built in a day.
  15. It might not be on the table, but it would be poor business to not start at that point if you're Carolina. Unless we add some draft capital going back to HOU, we're not getting 12, but put that on the Texans to shoot down. This is why we moved to 1 - to be in control of the draft. Houston balked at CHI to move up one spot and they have to be kicking themselves currently. You can't get what you don't ask for.....even if you know 33 or the '24 FRP is what you end up with.
  16. You also have to think that HOU is not a QB away from being good in '23, so that future 1 is looking like a potential top-10 selection....maybe higher. That would be a nice ace to have in the back pocket if BY isn't "their guy".
  17. Any of these guards they've brought in thus far would be a smart decision to draft. For depth, kicking BC out to swing/rotational OL and bringing in a younger reliable true G would strengthen our rotation. Having Christensen (who will be 27 this fall), Mays, Tecklenburg and Coleman as backups would keep our boys fresh. Ekonwu-Zavala-Boze-Corbett-Moton is a nasty, gifted and balanced OL for Young/Stroud to be behind.
  18. Isn't Gilly in Dallas now?
  19. This is where I'm at with the whole situation. I prefer Stroud but man....BY, IMO, has more superstar potential. It's a matter of whether he can play 17+ games a year, and do it in December/January in cold weather, harsh environments. Young could be a superstar though. He's an outlier, but at some point, someone of his stature will break the mold. It would be horrible in retrospect to have missed out on it....serious FOMO.
  20. Bryce: 5-Star HS QB #1 Dual Threat HS QB #1 Overall HS QB 2021 Heismann winner 2022 Heismann runner-up #1 overall QB in college two straight years Stroud: 4-Star HS QB #2 Pro-Style HS QB #3 Overall HS QB 2021 Heismann runner-up 2022 Heismann runner up #2 QB in college two straight years I'd say Bryce would do this at most programs that he was heavily recruited by within reason of calibre of program. Would he do it at Vanderbilt, Duke, Colorado State? Probably not as well...but the heavy hitters that #1 QBs go to, I'd say yes. Young has always been the #1 prospect and it's hard to argue otherwise. For me, not every collegiate QB translates over and succeeds in the NFL. Usually it's for the reasons that are not related to BY..... IQ, headspace under pressure, processing, speed of the game, etc. For every successful QB, there's lots of Leafs, Tebows, Gabberts, Darnolds, Sanchezs and Weurfels.
  21. Outstanding synopsis and if I could give more pie, I would. Thank you for pointing out the larger need at CB that seems to be not as high on others' respective radars. I have a feeling a R1 talent will be there at 39 and we will have to go bpa between CB, EDGE and maybe TE if a guy like Washington, Mayer or Musgrave falls. I think DJ won't be the same guy after his latest injury and will turn 28 this year. Not out of his prime yet, but we do need to plan for a future running mate opposite Horn. I wonder if Jayden Reed can make it to R4.
  22. I hate this for Stroud and any other collegiate draft pick. This is their time to optimize their brand and go as high as they can in the draft. IDK if it's the media or other organizations starting the rumors in order to get his value to drop, but it's an ugly action regardless of where it's coming from. I know I want CJ here, but I'd say the same if it was BY, AR, Will Anderson, etc. Maybe it's true...who knows. The only thing in this arena that I've seen said about CJ was positive. I read that he is a humble kid that treats the best player the same way as he treats the 105th player on the team. I l also read that he was the first and last one on/off the field consistently. Again, maybe something new came through in the interviews/visits, but I smell bs.
  23. Fair point. I still think he's got upside and needed to be in a different location, but yeah, getting benched is pretty rough.
