  1. Watching Penix, Jr vs. a horrible Colorado team should be fun. I think his stock will creep ever so closer to late 1st - early 2nd round material. If we go Anderson/Carter R1, I'd like him in R2. He could be our new Thomas Davis rebuilt cyborg.
  2. BPA. Given OPs scenario, I think Breese, Johnson or Mayer would be the answer. Come back for Richardson either late 1st or if he’s there with your R2 pick, he should be the sit and stash QB for the new regime. DJ/TMJ/Laviska/Mayer/Tremble would be a helluva unit for Richardson behind our OL.
  3. By far the biggest blow to our '22 season was Corral being out for the year. We had a feeling Rhule and Co. would not make it through the year. To have Corral out there right now taking his lumps and seeing if he has potential would be so helpful. If somehow we miss out on Young/Stroud and end up gambling on Richardson, Corral could have a shot. It might not be the new regime's "guy", but Corral would have a year of film room and being at this level over Richardson, who is probably a two-year project.
  4. I think Young's trajectory ends up somewhere in between Tua and Kyler. Maybe that's being lazy....idk. Watching Kyler and Tua run around, the height difference jumps off the screen. I'm not saying Young can't make it nor would I be mad if we took him per se. The kid definitely needs to add 15-20 lbs in the weight room for sure. From a stature standpoint, I think Young is closer to Flutie than Russ.
  5. The thought of Carter next to Brown or Anderson off the edge >>>>>> Levis. As others have said, if Stroud/Young are unavailable, you stack the D with another franchise cornerstone and figure out QB afterwards. Cooper Rush, Jimmy G and Huntley are all UFAs and maybe Corral could still be the guy. Draft a guy like Richardson and stash him for a year or two to hone his skills under a competent OC.
  6. By no means am I saying that Foreman is CMC, especially in the passing game, but his numbers since CMC was traded are not too shabby: 26 years old, just like McCaffrey, and brings back Panthers' physicality in the running game. I've missed the Stephen Davis/Jonathan Stewart smashmouth style of ground attack. Add someone like Gibbs in the draft, and I think in one year, our RB situation is better set up for success both in production, as well as $$.
  7. I might be an optimist, but I think if we handle the next two offseasons correctly, we can compete for the post season in '25. Rather than have a fire sale and go full rebuild, I think there's a lot of goods in the cupboard. Wilks has already shown that a somewhat competent HC can have these guys playing better. OFFENSE: I see the following positions as locked in: LT - Ickey C - Bozeman (re-sign ASAP) RG - Corbett RT - Moton WR1/2 (wherever you think Moore slots in) TE2 - Tremble would be great in a 12 personnel deployment and help the OL as a blocker that can get out in space if needed and haul in some receptions, but not as a TE1. RB2 - I'd like to see an OC that actually brings more balance and rotates RBs throughout the game. No more grinding the RB1 into the ground while capable backs can contribute, but ride the pine. Foreman is young enough, brings a physicality that would compliment a speedy/elusive pass-catching back. Potential answer long-term, but still questionable: I think TMJ-Laviska can be your complimentary WRs along with Moore. An OC and QB1 that can get them the ball helps too. Christiansen. He's held up decently at LG....not sure if he's "the guy" but alongside a potential elite LT and very strong anchor a C, he could be the weakest of the five OL and still be decent. Plus he's young. DEFENSE: I see the following positions as locked in: DE1 - Burns DT1 - Brown LB - Luvu CB1 - Horn S/LB - Chinn (would prefer we ran two LBs and three S with Chinn being better utilized in a LB/Rover role) S - Woods Potential answer long-term, but still questionable: CB2,CB3 & CB4 - Jackson is good if Horn is the alpha. Jackson as the CB1 is no bueno....plus he's oft-injured. I think one of Henderson/Taylor shakes out. I really like Taylor's complete package as a boundary corner. In an ideal world, all four stick around and mesh well together playing the hot hand. LB2 - Brandon Smith. In my ideal scenario, Smith gets a lot of PT this year to get acclimated. We move on from Shaq in '23 and have Luvu/Smith as our primary backers with Chinn supporting as a third LB in different packages. This is probably '24 and beyond TBH. NEEDS: Tier 1 Needs: QB1, TE1 , RB1, DE2, DT2 Tier 2 Needs: WR, LB, S
  8. If the Rams are giving us a first in '24 and '25, the 2nd rounder this year has to be included for me to do it. If the Rams want him, they need to come to us. Mid-round R1 picks two and three years from now for a young, athletic, and dynamic DE/OLB isn't the answer.
  9. This will probably be downvoted, but I am curious what DJax would fetch on the trade market, as well as dead $$ he would cost us. I'm assuming it's similar to Shaq where it's not worth the cap hit. I am not opposed to keeping him per se, just wondering if he could net us more in assets than his long-term projection with this team. The flip side is that between Horn-Jackson-Henderson-Taylor, we have four CBs that can compete. Personally, I think Taylor, though a different style of CB has equal to if not higher upside with us long-term.
  10. Nope. Too much like Rivera for me. Very likable guy that you root for, gets the players keyed in, but too conservative and I don't see him being much more than a mediocre coach that keeps us in the 9-8 -> 10-7 range. I'm pulling for him to succeed but do not want for our HC. I think he got a raw deal in AZ too. Doubt he would stay on for DC under a new regime, but I wouldn't be against it.
  11. FA this offseason, so we don't have the $$ in '23, but '24 our cap is looking much more reasonable. Would solve our IDL issue. Would a third rounder get him? Proven 25-year old DT next to Brown. Not sure if they would pair well or mirror each others strengths/weaknesses. Truthfully, don't understand why WAS would trade him unless they don't think they can re-sign him this summer.
  12. I think one of Jackson/Henderson aren't here next year. I wonder what we could get for Donte. Not wanting to give up Horn/Brown/Burns/Chinn is the right move. I just wonder if Donte could fetch a draft pick worth moving him. I really like Taylor and hope he gets the reps to continue improving. He could be our CB2 of the future if given the chance. Hopefully iron sharpens iron. If not, it's okay because we have four CBs that can lock that position down for awhile.
  13. I don't want to be in the camp that doesn't like a QB because of size, but I can't get past Young's. He's a legit 5'10...maybe 5'11". He's under 200 lbs. After watching Tua and Murray get banged around, I just have a hard time investing a #1 overall pick in him. Russ made a career of moving the pocket and being evasive. The rules have changed moreso, so perhaps there's hope for Young. Hurts seems to be doing the same. They just have stronger, more stout frames than Young. I want to be wrong. I'll wait until the entire season shakes out.....playoffs, combine, pro-day, interviews, etc. There's nothing about Young's production and playing style that I don't like other than him sometimes taking off sooner than I'd like. I'm rooting for him and if he ends up a Panther, so be it. His leadership, athleticism and drive are top flight.
  14. That game when Fields got knocked around and was Byron Leftwiching his team to the W was one of the top performances of the past decade. He was my QB2 that year and am sad to see how he's fared thus far in the NFL.
  15. Thx to Miami forfeiting their first rounder this year. 2 picks in the top-32 and 4 picks within the top 50 selections. I wonder how Fitts approaches this. Can't imagine we are selecting in our designated slots, outside of R1.
  16. No doubt Tepper is keeping an eye on the Steelers to wait and see the fate of Tomlin. That’s the guy that makes the most sense. I’d also take Flores or Ryans along with an up and coming OC. It sure who either of them would bring (don’t want Canada; not sure who’s in SF). Dorsey and Johnson are top OCs but not really sure if they are HC material quite yet. I think if we do wait until the end of the year on Tomlin, Dorsey and Johnson will have more tape to evaluate.
  17. 4 offensive TDs in 4 games (2 by the defense) is such a glaring reflection of where we are at in year three of the Rhule era. We've regressed. Firing him won't necessarily equate to less losses, but it does recalibrate the locker room and direction. Rhule is a lame duck. Year three was a "hot seat" year to see if he truly had turned a corner with his shiny new toys (McAdoo, Campen, Baker, Ekonwu) and a healthy CMC. Nope. Byeeeeeeeeeeee. Let's cut this sh*t show and look forward to '23. Hopefully trade Robby, Shaq and Donte along the way, lock in the #1 pick for Stroud and begin the slow climb back to relevance. I'm hoping for Flores or Payton as HC....no more college coaches.
  18. Much how the past 5 years have been "what could have been" as we were up to our eyeballs in mediocrity with Hurney, Rivera and Rhule, the New York Giants are no different. Awful record the past few years with equally as embarrassing HCs Elite RB when healthy, but can't stay off the IR Bottom-5 QB that is not the future of the franchise Vanilla, uninspiring gameplans with no identity The Giants are 4-1 because of coaching. Daboll gets it. Kafka was a rising OC name coming up in KC and Martindale is a HC candidate that has the Giants' D playing above par. They pulled the trigger on firing Judge when he was clearly not "the guy" as HC. We didn't and we deserve everything that is currently in front of us. For an Owner that said "mediocrity won't be tolerated" ....... it's all bs. Find your brass balls, fire Rhule and Co. after we get humiliated at home again today and let's close this chapter. "Mediocrity" would be an improvement.
  19. I sure hope Sauce turns out to be the second coming of PP or Ramsey. They passed on Icky (thank you Jets) and have watched two LTs go down to season ending injuries. Kinda like us with Horn > Slater.
  20. Rashard Higgins will be 28 in October and on a one-year deal. Zylstra and Saunders are meh. Great in August....JAGs the rest of the year and not enough to pass up on a 23-yr old WR that has actually produced in the NFL. TMJ should be held onto to see if he can A.) stay healthy B.) step up when competition comes in to take his lunch money. I think this makes sense in a Cordarelle kinda way. Kick the tires for peanuts and see if you can push TMJ to be better, or maybe you find a youngster that can be your WR4/gadget play weapon. His contract is insanely team-friendly.
  21. I don’t hate turf per se, I just wonder why ours looks more like Lumen Field than SoFi. We just put turf down in 2021, yet it looks and plays like turf from the early 2000’s. SoFi is beautiful. We have the richest owner. Makes zero sense why our field looks so awful.
  22. Brandon Smith for sure looks the part in preseason....hope it continues over to productivity on Sundays. If he an Luvu can continue to shine, our LB corps will be nasty.
  23. Would we not eat a portion of it to make him go away the way CLE did with Baker? We take on $8-10M of his contract in order to relieve us of $8-10M and remove him from our QB room? Baker + 50% of Darnold's salary = ~ $20M for our QB1.
