  1. He'd make a good backup for Kyler Murray.
  2. Not Charlotte FC related, but this RSL/LAFC match is insane.
  3. I wouldn't make the trade, but Howell was the obvious pick over Corral. If Howell had panned out here, we could've kept DJ Moore and this year's pick. Maybe even CMC.
  4. I think YTTV is pretty well positioned right now. It's basically cable tv for people who don't want to pay cable tv prices. I'd guess that the "sports progamming only" market isn't huge. The problem for YTTV is if any of this stuff becomes exclusive, or if ESPN/Fox decide to jack up whatever carriage prices they're currently paying.
  5. As a UNCC alum, I see parallels between the Hornets and 49ers. In the 90's, both were good (not great) teams. They weren't title contenders, but you expected them to be in the playoffs/tournament. And they've both been sh#t shows for the last 20 years. It's been fun watching 49ers hoops come back to life. Maybe someday that will happen with the Hornets.
  6. Michigan State fans pull for the Lions, too.
  7. The most obvious comparison for Bryce is Trey Lance, based on where he was drafted, and what SF paid to get him. He got 2 seasons (8 games). Of course, they had a loaded team and no time to wait. And a good front office. What are the odds we find a Brock Purdy? But if we've learned anything about Tepper, it's that he's not a "sunk costs" guy.
  8. I was good with the Frank Reich hire, so what do I know? We'll see.
  9. The Hornets/Heat rivalry is similar to the way a nail has a rivalry with a hammer.
  10. So it looks like Amazon stepped in at the last minute to prop up the Bally RSN's. So if you didn't have access to the Hornets/Canes, you can just do a $20/month add on at Amazon Prime. If I followed the Canes, maybe. But nah. https://deadline.com/2024/01/amazon-diamond-sports-regional-networks-sinclair-bankruptcy-1235795319/
  11. Nah. I watched enough bad football to hold me over until September.
  12. True, but the people still interested in cable skew much older. I watch tv on my flatscreen, and play games on my phone. My adult kids play games on their flatscreen, and watch tv on their phone. And if you're not into sports, there's really no reason to have live tv. So yes, cable is a viable option for now. But it's going the way of the dodo, eventually.
  13. It won't be a cable bundle, though. Cable companies are getting out of the tv business, left and right. It's more profitable to just be ISP's. There will be bundles, but they'll be streaming bundles.
  14. Better get used to it. I already pay the $6/month for Premier League content, so no big deal for me. The writing was on the wall when they started airing games on Amazon Prime.
  15. Yep. 2001 was a brutal season to watch, mostly because of all the close losses. Six losses by 3 points or less, and two more by 4-6 points.
  16. This also applies to the NFL Draft.
