Rhule was signed for 6 or 7 years but obviously coach pay is not a salary cap issue so tepper could fire him anytime and would owe 40-50 million (aka the money in teppers couch cushions). Having said that, I can't see that happening. Tepper knew what kind of rebuild he was starting when he hired rhule. I can't see him firing him after 2 seasons in really any scenario. Changing coaches every couple years is probably gonna make things worse instead of better.

I think if the texans were giving any indication that they would play him, he would be on the exempt list. The fact that he is not playing anyway is letting the nfl not act for now.

Stupid question but I don't know the answer: When you put in a waiver claim, are you taking on a players old contract and any remaining years they had under contract or how does the contract work. Edit. I see Mr. Scot posted the answer right before I asked.

They do. If they put him on ir before the 53 man cuts are over, then he is out for the year. If they get to 53 and then cut him, then he can come back in a few weeks.

The last drive of the first half was great. 85ish yards in a bit of a hurry up situation. Nice back shoulder location on the td to robby. At least the starters ended the preseason really strong. That could carry over some to week 1. However, like many others have said, a lot is going to hinge on getting at least average oline play.

Well, the rams have all the pieces (except a proven rb now that akers is out which obviously wasn't known when he signed with them) and could be a contender this year. The Panthers are super young and were certainly a less sure bet for him. I probably would make the same call if I were in his shoes.

I think you are right and I'm not gonna lose sleep over a 6th rd pick but we could have gotten a LS replacement next year or in the 7th rd or undrafted this year. The staff must have *loved* this guy and he didn't even go to Temple afaik.
