What franchises are in worse shape than the Panthers
bigdog_10_2002 replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
We’re actually still in bad shape but some of the draft picks and free agent signings have put some optimism in view. We’re nearly out from under a horrendous trade and should have a good deal of draft picks in this next draft to add some quality players. A solid vet qb should be able to win 6-7 games next year with this core and a healthier defense. -
It’s an absolute travesty he’s not portrayed everywhere in that building. When the common NFL fan is asked to name the best panther ever, they’re gonna name one of four guys. peppers smith Luke cam Those four guys are the legacy of the panthers history and have their fingerprints all over any semblance of relevance the region has ever had in the nfl world.

Really like watching this dude play. He’s a leader on this team. -

I don’t get the hate for the third down play call. That was excellent. Qb has to make that throw. -

That effort by Clowney there was pathetic -
Daboll could be next.

I don’t think you’ll see significant improvement next year. The lack of anything resembling adequate depth on this team makes it almost impossible for them to get competitive quick. One or two injuries in key places and it’s an immediate free fall to worst team in the league status again next year. If by significant improvement you mean win 4 or 5 games and not get beat by 21+ each game; I think that’s doable. Will completely depend on staying healthy though.

May as well play him. We’re full steam ahead towards the number one pick with this defense and any locker room potential issues are likely to be traded in the next week or two anyway. even if he does a 180 and plays like prime Manning, this defense isn’t good enough to win another game outside of these next two.

He’s probably already doing what we want him to do. Disappear into the back drop. the problem is now he has to patiently sit through years of the repercussions of his actions.

It would be foolish to accept a low ball offer (anything less than a 4th) on Johnson if we’re going into a full rebuild and not planning on signing any big free agency contracts. His contract with a new team would at minimum net us a4th in 2026 and could possibly be a 3rd. Gabe Davis is projected to net the bills a 4th next draft.

It ain’t gonna be popular here, but Jameis would be exactly what this team needs. He’s been a great teammate and would provide some immediate veteran leadership.

Yes, you are correct. I should have probably made myself clearer. I meant talent we acquired through the draft, not that we had to break the bank to get here in free agency.

Agreed. I’m fine with the overreactions after the games, but when you step back and look at who we have playing and then realize that decisions made by the front office over the last four years is the sole reason why we have a handful of undrafted free agents starting and playing a ton of snaps, it’s easy to give the entire coaching staff a pass. There is zero talent on this team at any meaningful spot. Tepper and the front office he has employed forced a quick rebuild multiple times on multiple coaches and sacrificed draft picks for players who are no longer playing or who just aren’t capable. The simple solution would have been to let Wilks and Darnold give it a go (like 80% of the fan base wanted) while you quietly rebuilt behind the scenes. We’d be entering the sink or swim year for both of those guys with a whole helluva lot more talent across the board as we wouldn’t have gone stupid with our draft picks going after Bryce. It’s funny to think back at how hesitant everyone was on Wilks saying we’d just be around .500 with him as HC. Man, what id give to watch a 8-9, 9-8 panthers season.

Panthers vs Falcons Gameday Thread
bigdog_10_2002 replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bears and Falcons have both run hurry up. They have zero respect for Wallace being able to get guys into the right spots calling the plays.
