  1. What if you are on the exempt list and u have performance escalators in your contract? That would be punishment wouldn't it? This whole commissioner's exempt status is a cluster
  2. What if you put in the context of future earnings? He has likely lost millions of dollar's from his next contract. For a crime he may have not even committed. Is that not punishment?
  3. I was wondering if Doty would give any clarification on this. He didn't so you are right. Not surprising since it wasn't one of the formal complaints, but it was mentioned at hearing and I hoped there would have been more about it
  4. Yeah, it doesn't make sense, but they withdrew request for evidence and hopefully will wrap it up soon. Regardless what they may think about his actions it is not fair to leave this over his head going into free agency
  5. To be fair, that was just my opinion. I said this case would go a long way in knowing what to expect for Hardy. If Doty ruled in favor of NFL I would have been wrong. But i thought Peterson had a good case that was also bolstered by Ray Rice decision. I also said for a while that NFL likely wouldn't punish him at all. That remains to be seen, but others like Jeremy and Scot have convinced me that it is unlikely (however I will say "told ya so" if he doesn't get suspended )
  6. Either way you can't retroactively enforce a new rule like that. That would be similar to you doing something that was legal, then lawmakers create new law and try to punish you for what you did before it was illegal. Or you got arrested and charged with a misdemeanor, then after the fact they make it a felony and try to charge you with the felony
  7. @adbrandt: And yes, ruling will help Greg Hardy. "Old standard" -- perhaps 2-game suspension as with original Rice ruling -- may be applied.
  8. In that same article is says the longest suspension it could find for domestic case was 3 games. It usually was a max 2 games. We will know more when details of the ruling come out
  9. Because when the Hardy stuff happened general suspension for domestic issue was 2 games. They retroactively created this commissioners exempt list policy, then minimum 6 game suspension. Both Ray Rice case and this case will say you can't make new rules after the fact and try to enforce them That is why I say worst would likely be 2 games.
  10. Yes Judge Doty has sided against the NFL before.
  11. NFLPA is 2 for 2 on these appeals to courts with the new policies. I am interested to read the ruling, but it is becoming clear you can't make up a rule and then retroactively apply it to someone. Means Hardy likely at worst would be looking at 2 game suspension. Another big question will be whether judge had an opinion on commissioners exempt list being disciplinary in nature
  12. Devil is in the details, but this could have ramifications for Greg Hardy, especially the issues of punishment under new policies enacted after the incident occured and if commissioners exempt list considered a pre-discipline discipline @AdamSchefter: Judge Doty has overturned Adrian Peterson decision and Peterson now will be reinstated, per source.
  13. Interest on our side is confirmed @josephperson: I'm told #Panthers interested in former KR/WR Ted Ginn. They're not the only ones. Browns have reached out to Ginn, per @MaryKayCabot
  14. Is he bringing Sandra Bullock with him? Otherwise, no thanks
  15. This is something that he should have just kept private. No one benefits. D-Will is one of the best Panthers of all-time and we should be celebrating his accomplishments, but instead are talking who went to his funeral and who didn't
  16. Well to be fair Cleveland has awesome new helmets
  17. I have always admired your keen intellect from afar.
  18. That is a Power Rangers show I could get behind
  19. it is hard to plan to go to funerals, because they happen usually within a week to 10 days after the death I know when my mom died last year only 3 of my 7 that I consider my best and oldest friends were able to attend. And honestly, I didn't think twice about it. But that isn't to knock D-Will because everyone feels differently and everyone has different expectations of their friends in those situations Just making the observation that funerals are tough because they are short notice. For example, I would be more upset if a friend missed my wedding when theY had 10 months notice than my mom's funeral when they had only 10 days notice
  20. I do think some of you guys went a smidge overboard with your harsh reactions toward Deangelo over this. Just my opinion
