Someone asked on a UNC social post if the heels will have anybody to play in the secondary next year? my question is did they have anyone playing in the secondary this year? Easily one of the worst I’ve ever seen

It is completely broken. There are no rules and no regulations except for that the school can’t directly pay the players for whatever sham NIL deal they can bribe them with. Friends of the program can though. NCAA had a chancE to get out in front of it but they were not proactive at all about anything.

So once a player commits and signs, hell once they are on campus living in a dorm, the coaches are gonna STILL have to keep recruiting these players. There is going to be illegal tampering, we saw it with Jordan Addison last year, and Mack Brown said there were people trying to buy Josh Downs last season. While I fully support players being able to cash in on their NIL..what they got going on now is a disaster and completely unfair. There has to be some regulations and rules. I’d probably look at bringing back the 1 year transfer rule and make a firm example of teams that are tampering. Not that it matters because he won’t play as long as Maye is At UNC but Criswell enters portal after Clemson loss, and I believe he is already committed to Arkansas. Lol. Def some behind the scenes payola going on there. Lord knows how I was when I was a teenager, but with the social media stuff and Twitter announcements etc these kids are all spoiled and if they don’t get their way they will just pack up and go home. NCAA has a mess on its hands but they are a terrible organization with zero leadership and accountability so I’m sure nothing will be done. :P

Well, in your defense, I did tune in to Jim Rome today and he cited the tweet so it happens to the best of us, especially with the war zone of bullshit Twitter is now. Drake may indeed enter the portal to see if he can get a check for a couple mill and I’m sure this bozo with 100 followers who claims to work for CBS would be screaming at the top of his lungs like I told you so but I would not base any celebration of something bad happening to UNC based off this guy.

Dawson Garcia transferred from UNC back to Minnesota claiming family problems. That’s his second transfer in less than a year - and while it was documented his elderly grandmother did pass away, there was significant, credible chatter with some UNC outlets that he was butthurt Manek took his starting spot and used this an excuse to leave. I don’t think he was missed considering what the UNC team looked like once he was gone and the Marquette / UNC NCAA press conference when a reporter asked Bacot if they were gonna talk to DG about Marquette and they all started laughing.

There’s always been cheating and paying kids and their handlers under the table. Danny Ford won a championship in the 80s and Clemson doing it. Duke was able to get Zion’s momma a “consultant job” at Nike and a dope rental house among other things. Miami football, UCLA basketball in their prime were paying guys like crazy. The list goes on. but now it’s accepted and completely unregulated. It’s a disaster. The NCAA can’t enforce anything and it’s basically fraudulent/sham NIL deals being used to bribe players. something has to be done or it’s gonna destroy a sport like college FB unless u are a fan of 10-15 teams.

I mean he said point blank that them just showing up ain’t good enough. They have a unique opportunity to get paid serious money and are just pissing it away while embarrassing the school town and fans. UNC sports could use a stern talking to like that and ruffling some feathers.

I watched that entire video and yeah some of it was some corny showmanship but you can not tell me he isn’t gonna challenge his players and recruit very well. Certainly looks like a home run hire and people clowning on prime are gonna wish their school hired him in a couple seasons.

Disagree. Dude let it be known that just showing up ain’t gonna cut it. He has zero loyalty to any of the current buffalo players. I loved it. Challenged them from the jump. Tar Heel basketball and football team need a talking to like that.

I agree. I’m shocked at how awful he was here. He looked like he was gonna be a really good QB a couple seasons ago. He will catch on as a backup but he has serious issues in his mechanics and is probably done as a legit QB.

Ohio State suffers one of their ugliest, most embarrassing losses in two decades at the hands of their arch rival, rumors begin that the head coach is on the way out after losing like 5 games in four years but still manage to sneak into the playoff with a backdoor chance at a national title in a disappointing season. UNC wins 9 games out of nowhere, plays for a conference championship, finds a generational type of QB all during a season most people thought they would be lucky to be bowl eligible and within 24 hours their are players jumping ship and rumors circling that their players are all free agents. that’s the difference between a football school and school with a football team. What a time to be Alive (and a fan).

You ain’t gotta like it. But you have to respect it. Probably the closest thing to a formal apology from the NC2A as anyone will get. There were a lot of people who invested a serious amount of time, energy, and resources chasing after something that didn’t exist. A lot of bewilderment and misplaced anger when UNC was rightfully cleared. Need to use that energy on certain “reporters” and journalists who strung ya along when it was a big old fat and juicy nothing burger.

OMG not this crap again. This “issue” was resolved, proven to be inaccurate, and essentially was a speculative witch hunt led by a few fraudulent reporters and blood thirsty fan bases. UNC has a certificate that cleared them. Facts don’t care about your feelings, guy.
