American cars are gigantic, over priced pieces of crap.

Dude I used to live with in my twenties, and I’m still friends with today, owns a company with his dad. Each year or so he has to travel to China to buy a bunch of equipment from there and then it’s shipped to the USA and they replace the manufacturer tag with their own. You hear it all the time buy American buy American - well yeah I’d like to but American stuff is junk and stuff made overseas is cheaper. Don’t get mad at me the consumer get mad at the companies that employ Chinese and Foreign companies.

Government needs to foot the bill. Give these people money to keep their business afloat.

I mean you are in a tough spot that is for sure. It’s not fair that they have this leverage over you like that. Government should enforce some sort of law that makes stuff like this illegal. Protect the consumer.

I mean...what am I missing here? The economy will bounce back. The market fluctuates. We can get it back on track but we need to worry about keeping our country healthy and safe. That is the first priority. fug your 401K.

I drove up to Harris Teeter Sunday late afternoon to pick up a few things and there were still a lot of people out in my area of Charlotte. Lots of people in teeter as well.

The country needs to be locked down three weeks ago. It certainly appears that trump and government have taken half measures and are just gonna let this virus run it’s course and whoever dies is just collateral damage. Sorry. Economy and big corps more important that your life.

Not to get too politically opinionated here in the main forum - but hopefully this pandemic has opened the eyes of some people. Slapped some people in the face that needed a good slapping and revealed how fuged up this country is. I mean last week you had politicians telling old people they need to be prepared to die for the economy.

They should have nipped this poo in the bud from the start. The government new this crap was gonna blow up here. They are privy to info that public don’t know about. Suck it up, stay at home and let’s try and open up in the summer when people want to travel and go on vacations and spend money.

Right - essential is such a vague word. Essential to who? Essential for what reasons? If these cashiers are Lowe’s and Teeter are deemed “essential” then they damn will need to be compensated like that.

They need to close everything down for 2 weeks. Everything. If you can’t work from home then it needs to be closed. A few exceptions to the rule of course. Groceries online and pickup only. Gas stations closed except for pumps. Pharmacies open but rules are different. Restaurants closed. Parks and greenways closed. I’m even down with some sort of martial law. Americans are entitled, stupid, and hard headed. Anyone breaking the law gets fined and possible jail time.

Didn’t the CDC and other doctors say that there is no point to wearing a surgical mask around if you are going to the store or gas station? I’d rather wear gloves.

I wouldn’t trust any information that comes out of China. F them.

He wants the USA back to normal by Easter when doctors, pathologist, and you know, people one gazillion times smarter and better suited to speak on the virus are saying that ain’t happening and it’s irresponsible. I just ran up to my local HT for a few weekend items and there are a ton of people out.

It certainly looks like that US “leaders” and I use the word “leaders” very loosely for a handful of individuals, have made the decision to just let the virus run its course and then we will have a big party and claim we defeated the virus once it has peaked. Sad and embarrassing.
