The man that should be our top target in FA
NJPanthers89 replied to NJPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Again my main point in starting this thread was in looking at FA and How can the Panthers best improve this pathetic offense. We all were hoping for a big name WR, sadly that’s not happening. But a guy like Saquon will be available and can carry an offense. The Giants had a worse QB situation than us somehow and he still was able to have success and teams feared him. I like Chuba but he’s not in the same stratosphere of talent that Saquon is. Nobody would complain about the cap implications if CMC was still on the roster, and this brings us close to that talent level at the position again. It will also be cheaper than CMC was. Let’s face it, if we don’t bring in talent via FA to take pressure of Bryce this year will be just as ugly as the last. Hoping to just draft guys with the like 3 picks we have is laughable. Most guys drafted in the second round and beyond are not ready immediately. Look at Mingo.. -
The man that should be our top target in FA

Tell me one other FA skill player that would improve our offense more than him? Don’t say Ridley he’s suspect, the only other guy is maybe Josh Jacobs who is also a RB. I would have loved Pittman or Higgins but it’s not happening. You gotta improve somehow this may be the best way to start. -
The Panthers have a big gap in talent offensively compared to almost every team in the NFL. Ideally a stud WR or two would be attainable but looks like that’s not happening. There is one (maybe 2) players that could change the Panthers offense drastically. A player that can take pressure of Bryce, and be a focal point for defensive schemes. That player is Saquon Barkley. I know paying RBs is frowned upon, but Having a RB that can both run/catch at an elite level like Saquon immediately changes the offense. We have seen what CMC did for our offense. Barkley carried a terrible Giants team and Canales clearly wants to run the ball. He isn’t shy about saying it. I’m not saying it will happen, it probably won’t, but signing Saquon Barkley would be the most impactful signing the Panthers could make on offense going into this year especially with all the WRs staying put. You have a QB on a rookie contract, now is the time to load up on talent and take a chance. Also don’t even mention Miles Sanders as a lesson in signing RBs he isn’t in the same stratosphere of talent that Barkley is, Fitterer is a moron.

His arm is perfect? Either your trolling or your the worst judge of talent this board has ever seen. It’s literally a FACT that his arm is subpar. His quick (smart) decision making was supposed to make up for this, but clearly that wasn’t the case. His deep balls never have a chance, defenses didn’t respect them at all and why the hell would they. Face the facts, Bryce is gonna need to rely on talent around him to be successful, because his talent is sorely lacking..

If the Panthers don't get Ben Johnson it's gonna end up being Evero and Morgan (GM). Nobody else wants this job..

This report is pure clickbait. The only true WR1 is Davante Adams, and he's not coming here to this disaster. Tee Higgins has potential but are we sure he's a WR1? He will also command big money. The one guy who has shown he can compete against the top CB's and be successful is Cortland Sutton. There is an injury history, but he seems to be getting better every game as he moves away from the knee injury. He's also very likely to be available. I definitely don't want Jeudy. Claypool actually has more raw talent then any WR we currently have but he's a head case and also more of a WR2. If the Chiefs traded for him tomorrow everyone would lose their minds tho. Darnell mooney is another talented guy who is available but he's not a WR1 either. Mooney is still better then anything we have honestly. Hollywood Brown is a low end WR1 i guess...

Reich wasnt the first choice, he was the only one who wanted this job. Ben Johnson and Sean Payton laughed at us. They knew this was a dead end job.

Not only Fitterer who is an absolute joke of a GM. But David Tepper who is the single worst owner in football. He needs to just get out of the way as he has no idea what he's doing. Any credibility Josh McCown thinks he had is also gone, nobody can take his QB evaluations seriously either. They gave up the farm for a weak arm, unathletic midget.
-
For everyone that posted in here defending Fitterer a month ago, the original post was spot on. Welcome to the great enlightenment. Too bad it's going to be a bumpy next couple years. Just wait until we give the Bears the first overall pick that could have been Caleb Williams..

Every team in the NFL today wants a QB who fits the profile of being athletic, tall and have a strong arm. So what did the Panthers do? They took a short, unathletic QB, with a noodle arm, who melts the second he sniffs a defender around him. Look at the stats from last night. If you can't complete passes without a clean pocket and 6 seconds to throw its not going to work out well. I'm glad they traded the best offensive weapons playmakers we had for this poo. Unfortunately we're gonna have to ride this out for 3 years until Fitt and Reich are finally fired. Fitterer has been the single worst thing to ever happen to this franchise and has set us back a decade at least. Reich sucks but he wasn't our first choice, nobody wanted this job and could you blame them? Glad Tepper who knows nothing about football let his wife decide that Bryce should be the pick because he was a good dinner date. I suggest you find better things to do with your sundays then watching the panthers for the next few years, it's gonna be ugly.

It depends, but I see our ceiling at 7-10
NJPanthers89 replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
Vegas over under for the Panthers i've seen anywhere from 7-7.5. Thats gonna start coming down once they wake up and realize how bad this team is. Realistically because the division is weak, i think we can peak at 6 wins. I wouldn't be shocked with 5 tho. -
Can't wait until Mr. "In on Every Deal" trades for Jonathan Taylor 🫣. Instead of wasting money on jags like Hayden Hurst, Thielen and Miles Sanders in a year with "low expectations", maybe he could have signed a legit DT or OG for the future. Instead he put lipstick on a pig team, a team that is going nowhere, anyone who thinks otherwise needs to take the blinders off. There legit aren't many offenses that look worse on paper than ours...all i can think of are like Houston and Arizona, and its close lol.

I know Fitt likes to be collaborative with his coach, but most coaches are terrible GMs and just want “their guys”. Miles Sanders is not a good running back, he totally took advantage of having defenses worried about Hurts last year. But Reich wanted his guy so we overpaid. At what point does Fitt build his own team and not try to make everyone happy all the time. That was the one good thing Gettleman did was not give a F about what people wanted, it was all business and building the team he envisioned. What is Scott’s vision because I don’t see it or any plan whatsoever.

I’m starting to have my doubts that he is the right guy for the job. This team is very poorly assembled and the draft choices recently leave a lot to be desired. Taking Horn over Surtain, Icky over Neal, and passing on Pickett just to trade a ton for Bryce the following year look like terrible moves. Paying Miles Sanders? Hayden Hurst? I mean they are telling us to temper expectations then why the barrage of signings acting like you can win. He obviously has no feel for where the team is at, that cap space could have been carried over. I don’t think Bryce is the problem, and I think he’s going to be a fine system/game manager QB. But that rarely wins you anything in the NFL. At best he turns into Drew Brees which is possible but unlikely. His deep ball needs a lot of work, it’s looks awful right now. If Fitt believed in Reich and the “brilliant coaching minds” around him they should have went with Richardson and seen what they can turn him into. Instead Bryce will be just good enough like Garrapolo and Cousins where we we make the playoffs, but will all complain about him every year because he’s holding us back. Hateto say it but Tepper getting involved in the coaching search and draft likely contributed to Fitterers demise and killed this team for the foreseeable future. I think in two years Fitt and Reich are both gone and we are forced to start over once again. Hopefully by then we get our Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll.

I would have rather paid CGJ to be our CB2 over Adam Thielen. Who knew it would have been cheaper 🫣. I’m on board with the Thielen signing, but that’s a pretty ridiculous contract for him, which is the only reason he’s here and not a team like KC. It’s only really big money this year but it’s still an overpay.
-
Signing both Thielen and Chark would be tremendous. The WR room would be better than last years, and Fitt wouldn't be pressured into having to force a WR in the 2nd if no targets are on the board. This off-season has been exciting, some moves i agree with, some that i dont, but nonethless doing what you should be doing with a rookie QB on a rookie deal, building a good team around them and not wasting any time. The 3 year deal sounds like cap manipulation to me, not a chance they are expecting 3 years out of him. The final year or two is probably either voidable or won’t have any effect on the cap if he’s cut. We haven’t seen the numbers yet but this front office is smart enough to structure it that way to save cap space for this year.
-
Yes a second is plausible, but people thinking we’re getting 12 plus a future first have no idea how the draft works. I’m not moving back to 4 unless I’m fine with Levis (which I am). Plus I would def ask for Pittman in the package. Then it’s like we essentially traded up to 4 for free
-
Definitely not going to get what people think to move back one spot lol, it would be more like a second rounder, or maybe even a 3rd and 4th. It’s 1 spot lol, multiple firsts aren’t remotely happening.
-
Would love this signing, get it done Fitt! Was my top target in FA.

As far as the free agents go, I really want to see Chark sign here. He offers real upside and is still young. Thielen would be a solid addition but doesn’t really make sense, he should be on KC or a real contender for his final year or 2. Hardman is the outlier, it’s hard to place him. He never panned out as more than a gadget player for KC. He’s got insane speed tho.
