https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/agents-take-the-holdup-in-signing-top-2023-draft-picks-and-sticking-points-for-bryce-young-others-unsigned/ This article pretty much has all the info of the inner workings and whats going on. Basically teams have leverage on WHEN the signing bonus is paid and for a lot of players they pay in 2 to 4 installments, unless strickly negotiated to force the team to pay them a lump sum all at once. This is the only hang-up. Most QB's drafted first (except Kyler) get a lumpsum of their signing bonus deposited into their account within 15 days of signature of the contract. Teams want to break it up over a year in 4 installments usually. Bryce will get his lumpsum just like Trevor Lawrence, Sam Darnold, and Trevon Walker (some of the most recent players to get lump sums)

Yep, rating is mostly determined by QB and the rest of the team is adjusted accordingly LOL Aaron Rodgers? Great lets bump everyone else to compensate. Same for Bengal and Bills.

You're right, whats funny is that aside from Interceptions Burns sacks and pressures are almost identical to Julius Peppers first 4 years (burns has played less games as well) and Burns didn't have Steve Smith, Mushin Mahammud, Jake Delhomme, and Stephen Davis on the other side of the ball, this fanbase is something else.
-
Oh man this forum is just f-150 town isnt it? You have Nfc execs saying Burns is just as good as Bosa but plays for a poo team with no help aside from Derrick Brown and no offense to help him getting into obvious passing situations and thats not enough for these people. for what its worth, Bosa had identical stats to Burns when he played tampa, difference being that Bosa had a much better game script than Burns and still produced the exact same Oh well alls well that ends well. At least the FO understands value and knows that Matt fuging Rhule is the last person to use to evaluate a premium player.
-
Expecting to hit on another edge rusher better than burns with two picks is idiotic.
-
Itll be signed a couple hours before, why even devote brain power to this?
-
If you take less than the equivalent of 4 first round picks you're a moron. Thats how much a top 10 edge rusher is worth because the hit rate is 25% in the first round...
-
Dude shitted on so many parts of the team (rightfully) and but concedes how much better we are than the rest of the division, this might be a poo show this year lmao.

Depends on your qb, only works for about 6 to 8 qb in the league. If you qb isn't top end elite you still have to rely on the run game to get into 3rd and manageable situations. Imagine Bryce playing on 3rd and 3 and 3rd and 2 all the way down the field (sounds great doesnt it?) now imagine it being 3rd and 10 a few times down the field after some unfortunate throws.

Bosa was ranked #1. I always try to remind folks, Brian Burns has never had a consistent offense to play off of in his entire career, save the end of last year where he thrived. There is a reason he is worth 2 #1 picks plus more, a lot of you can't see it because our schemes have sucked, he has had no compliment on the other end, and we rarely played with a big lead for him to exploit.

Bryce Young called a “mental savant”
thunderraiden replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I thought Cam already came out and said Bryce was better than him in that video he listed QBs better than him he would back up. -
What's the date for 2023 fanfest?
thunderraiden replied to Panther1iDawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
I thought early on I saw, (or just assumed), that the draft this year was on a Friday, April 28th. It has been on friday for a few years. Now I'm seeing this. Can someone confirm the actual date? -
Finally gonna get rid of Bravvion Roy

Panthers Blueprint Episode 3: Embracing The Future
thunderraiden replied to Mr Mojo Risin's topic in Carolina Panthers
I loved McCown saying "They're professional WRs, make them prove it" or something to that effect, basically meaning force the throw away from trouble -
That was not the case when he was still young, as his contract gobbled up the cap he had to make do with just his one weapon and a bunch of jags situation he is in now. Get Hop on 1-year deal and convince him that he can prove he can stay healthy here and get his bag next season.

Breeland anyone? He said he wants to come back now that the clown show is gone.

Young is officially the starting QB.

Playing from behind, abandoning the run, passing to get baxk in the lead and typically forcing throws (Panthers football for the last three years). They are saying we rely on the run to set up the pass, which we do, and with a rookie qb we could be playing from behind a lot as they learn to consistently convert on third downs and when we play against teams with a robust and fast paced passing game will find ourselves down. I find it plausible but the writer did a terrible job explaining.

Exclusive first look at Panthers updated jerseys
thunderraiden replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I have a Jersey from last year and Bryce's new jersey if anyone wants I can post a pic of them side-by-side, the older jerseys def look WAYY off next to the new Jerseys. Basically the old color now looks like teal next to the pretty blue of Process Blue. -
Just a thought experiment. Was looking at a list of top 10 back-up QB's in the league and the red rifle came in at #2. And that got me thinking... even though he's our back-up, is he one the best QB we've had on the roster in the last few seasons? The List: Kyle Allen Taylor Heinicke Bridgewater PJ Tucker Sam Darnold Andy Dalton Baker Mayfield Post-Patriots Cam Newton My Ranking: Bridgewater Andy Dalton Taylor Heinicke Post-Patriots Cam Newton Sam Darnold Baker Mayfield Kyle Allen PJ Tucker
