  1. They have good overall numbers but situationally they are terrible. How many 3rd and longs have we given up. How many three and outs. Tampa has 60% of their offense out today and they have 250 yards in the first half and almost 100 in the ground. Absolutely the defense is terrible due to a crappy scheme even though our personnel might be pretty good. You clearly see but don't understand.
  2. Right now he looks better than Cam which isn't saying much.
  3. Tampa has 60% of their offense missing and they have right at 250 yards at halftime. We have good personnel but terrible coaching.
  4. So why did he not then adjust a second or change his throwing motion like every other NFL quarterback can do to avoid the contact?
  5. No he isn't. We have great overall stats but awful situational stats like three and outs. And we give up a 55 yard run on third and 2. Terrible gap discipline.
  6. And just as I say this he throws a boneheaded pick showing no touch on the ball at all.
  7. Cam is doing it again. Looking great on the first drive at home. Can we please keep it up and play well in all three phases for once and give our long suffering home fans something to get excited about.
  8. Not sure I agree that Sam is worse than Cam who is really struggling. The desire is there but the passing isn't. If Sam plays like he did the last several games he shouldn't be anything but a backup and only because we had to keep him as he gets paid regardless. Otherwise he needs to go too. But we have nothing to lose playing Darnold and if he sucks our draft position is great.
  9. I included all his games passer rating in an earlier post because you don't cherry pick just the games that support your position and ignore others. Selective stats are hardly convincing as is your narrative. His passer rating since he came back is around 70. And we havent won a game with him. I mentioned the last 3 because instead of getting better he is getting worse as teams get film on the offense. If you are a Carolina fan you have to love Cam and all he has meant to the franchise since he was drafted. But in the NFL, injury gets the best of everyone like it did Cam. He needs to retire a Panther and join the team in one capacity or another. But it is clear that he isn't a starter in the league anymore and he doesn't need to be a backup just to play a few more years. He has plenty of money so it is time to move on and not spoil his legacy with declining play.
  10. Truth is we lost the last 12 with Cam and instead of getting better with more experience in the offense he is getting worse. His passer rating the last 3 games has been 56, 70 and 6. That is abysmal and Cam is not playng well at all. It is time to admit he just isn't an NFL quality QB anymore as he is one dimensional and can't make all the throws. Darnold may continue to struggle but honestly Cam is what he is and frankly it isn't good enough. I am glad Cam got to come back and play again for us but it just reinforces why we moved on from him in 2020 and will move on again. If Darnold plays poorly as well, whether he is under contract or not next year we should be bringing in several options and trying to find a real NFL starter. At this point I don't think any of current guys are the answer at QB.
  11. While it isn't a popular opinion, the idea that an O line will fix everything and we can use the QBs we have like Cam or Sam is pretty naive. Cam cant throw with touch or deep due to injuries and that won't change. He is 0-10 in his last 10 starts for us and he really hasn't played well. His quarterback rating is under 70 and he hasn't thrown for 200 yards yet. It is easy to see that corners sit on his receivers routes and wait for him to throw it hard and high. They undercut his throws and don't fear the deep ball or him throwing it over their head dropping the ball in with touch. These kind of issues won't change no matter what the o line does. Darnold isn't much better because he still can't read defenses, makes risky throws although he is not hindered by injuries and still has a deep ball. While playcalling has been atrocious as well it wasn't the biggest issue. Honestly I would welcome a Baker Mayfield over what we currently have.
  12. So to complete the thought it wouldn't let me edit, ......great meal and show and Wilmington provides all three. I would retire there if I stayed in NC. Then again I live near Charlotte on a little lake and have my boat and range and my sports teams. Except for the Canes which I followed when I lived in the triangle. Lived in several others along the way but for me there isnt the best unless you add the qualifier so far. I hope I can live in a bunch more places each one better than the one before.
  13. I've lived several places in NC and honestly there are great places throughout the state. Wilmington is nice to me because it is a city and has amenities and things to do both water related and non-water related. I like to scuba dive, go shooting, and have a
  14. We are 4-11 at home since Rhule took over and since Tepper owned us we were also 2-6 at home in 2019. You have to go back to 2018 for us to have a winning record at home (6-2).
  15. Dont blame Charlotte or PSL owners. If my numbers are right we are 2-5 at home this year soon to be 2-6. The same as last year. Lets be real here we have lost 11 of our last 15 home games and am on a 5 game home losing streak. Tell me again why fans should be excited or show up at this point.
  16. I think Fitt has made good moves and I am confident he can find us good players like he already has. But it clearly is coaching we lack. Guys on both sides of the ball making constant mistakes and playing unsound football. With this secondary how do receivers get wide open? Blown coverages, guys not being where they belong, crucial penalties. The whole team plays soft too often. The offense isn't tough at all. Running teams have to be tough and clearly we arent.
  17. The defense is going to have to figure out how to get pressure while still maintaining their run integrity. Play a 5-2-4 and bring Chinn closer to the box for starters. The offense is still a work in progress. Hard to decide what Cam cant or can do until we at least install the whole offense.
  18. How many 3 and outs did we have on offense?? Seemed like at least 3 or 4 minimum.
  19. Exactly and both Brown and Jones are 320. The problem is that we always rush 3 or 4 and our ends are light if we use Reddick and Burns. We also try so hard to jump the gaps to rush the passer it is easy for teams to let defenders go upfield and take themselves out of the play. Dallas used to combat our rushing game by using 3 interior linemen and 2 ends so the offense couldn't double any one defender with another O linemen and they played two technique on obvious rushing situations. With 5 on 5 it is a lot easier to fill gaps and not get blown off the ball. You can still substitute other guys on passing downs but it really closes down the run lanes. And if I can figure it out a guy like Snow with all his experience should surely be able to do the same.
  20. Rhule has exactly what it takes in a head coach which is have a message and vision, be a good people person and manage the various pieces. Managing the clock or other game day issues are a very small piece of what a HC does. What he is lacking are coordinators who can game plan and adjust to constant opponent chess moves. Our players focus on themselves which sounds great if what that means is going out and taking away the strengths of the opponent. If we keep getting gashed in the run then why dont we play five guys in the dirt closing down running lanes and applying pressure. Why didnt gilmore play more when he showed what he can do and why did we leave Jackson on an island even after he struggled? Head coaches arent always X and Os kind of guys but their coordinators should be. Both Brady and Snow are smart guys but dont have much NFL experience. They are still learning by trial and error. But how many times can you say we didn't practice that or they didn't do that before on tape so we were surprised. If everyone else is better prepared than what does that say about us.
  21. Look at that first drive. Cam was great. As long as he keeps this up, of course he will be the starter.
  22. No one is saying PJ should start over Cam or be the long term starter. Lets see how they each play. Cam wil start and if he does great then we will only see PJ if Cam doesnt have enough down to keep things moving. But if Csm struggles then why wouldn't we see PJ who poses different skills and runs the short passing game pretty well. There are plays in there for both. Lets see who does what. By using them both we make defenses account for 2 different coverages, man for PJ and more zone for Cam because of his running ability. Platooning could be great for Cam. You actually do gain a lot watching someone else run the offense and then get your chance the next series. Cam is the vet leader and brings some energy that PJ cant. He will get all the chances to play and if he plays well then he will stay in. But no he shouldnt keep getting reps if he is struggling and playing poorly. Unless PJ plays worse when he comes in. You practice during the week and you.perform on Sunday. If you cant perform then someone else gets a crack. That has been true at every position but QB. Maybe that needs to change. What are people afraid of? PJ will do well? He will do bad and then sit the bench?? Lets see who brings the juice. Cam will be first up.
  23. It depends on how they play. PJ is a better west coast style passer and Cam is much better in an rpo. Why not scheme up plays for both and see what works best. The competition should bring out the best in both of them. If one is struggling bring in the other. Whoever is bringing the juice should play.
