Off topic move if you have to but thank you.
panthers55 replied to YourLastThought's topic in Carolina Panthers
If listening to all of our complaining has been therapeutic, just imagine how therapeutic it might be to talk to a professional who can help you make sense of all the crap you have been through. Not saying you need it, just saying... -
LaCanfora asks evaluators about Pickett...
panthers55 replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Seems the supposed experts like Pickett. Is all this doom and gloom from Huddle experts justified.? Considering it would have taken 3 firsts to move up last year for guys who might be somewhat better, getting the first QB this year without giving up additional picks might be decent value. -
QBs play in a system. Unless you subscribe to the theory of picking your guy and building your system around him, most teams try to find a QB to fit their style. So what QB do you want in what system. I want Ridder in an RPO heavy offense. Why would Howell be the best fit in our system??
-
I would love us to either take a left tackle or QB at 6. And I don't buy that you can't take a QB at 6 this year because no one deserves it. If you think he is a franchise QB and he is much better than someone who will be there at your next pick, you pull the trigger. If you trade back you are saying we don't really like him that much and are willing to lose him to someone else. But then again I would likely keep drafting a QB until I hit on one. No matter what I did in free agency.

The job of the GM is to get the players his coach wants to play in his system. A GM has to believe in the coach and his system for things to work. If a GM doesn't have faith in the coach then someone either has to go or they got a lot of explaining to do to get on the same page. But since Fitt didn't hire Rhule and it appears that Rhule has player personnel final say, the only thing you can judge Fitts on is how well he did getting players for Rhule's scheme

Finally. Yes he is the GOAT but I honestly won't miss him. Now maybe someone else can win a few SBs. And I never liked him after Superbowl 38. Or New England for that matter. Yeah I hold a grudge.......

Albert Breer on the Panthers quarterback options
panthers55 replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think we trade back from 6 unless a top OT is there and with our later first round pick we get a QB like Ridder who is a dual threat QB who reminds me of Cam. He would be excellent if we decide to run a RPO system. -
Sean Payton Officially Steps Away From Saints
panthers55 replied to PantherBoy95's topic in Carolina Panthers
Glad he is gone. He is a weasel and shady as hell. He is not a good guy. -
If the choice is this guy or a left tackle at our first pick give me o line all day. He is not special enough that we can't find someone similar further down the draft.
-
Nah, he was coming off injury and struggled to stay on the field. This year he was completely recovered and played well in a good scheme. It happens that sometimes you pick up a guy coming off injury and bail too soon and he goes elsewhere and plays the way you hoped he would.

How Rhule's Fug Ups Secured Him Another Year
panthers55 replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
That is what Fitterer and Tepper need to decide. If Rhule says let me do it my way and they concede total control then the only reasonable answer is that they are giving him enough rope to hang him. He either produces in year 3 which is what he sold Tepper he would do or he is gone. I am sure O line is the biggest need and Fitterer will do his part to bring in talent. If I were Tepper I would be asking Fitterer to take more control over who we get personnel wise regarding players who will be here after Rhule is gone. It was fine to give him the reins initially but nothing says he should be making decisions. And let's be real here both Brady and Snow for as bright as they are which play poor situational football. Guys out of position, penalties, blown coverages and on and on. On both sides of the ball we were undisciplined and unmotivated. No sense of urgency or purpose. We can be fine with Rhule if he sticks to his processes and is the mouthpiece and rah rah guy for the team. But his coordinators need to take charge of the gameplanning and especially the adjustments. And Snow needs to have some serious NFL experienced defensive consultants or whatever you want to call them to help him call games and make adjustments. I am sure Snow saw the problem with run defense but he just couldn't fix it. He was so about speed he sacrificed fundamentals like gap control and playing the run first. The personnel with a number of upgrades would be pretty good and surely something that would attract a new coach. And Tepper spends the bucks. I don't think that Tepper is thinking lame duck season and is keeping Rhule because he can't find someone else. I think Tepper committed to three years which is why Rhule never worried for his job. This is it I think. Playoffs or bust in 2022. This will be Teppers fifth year. I think he is angry and sick about the results so far. He is a prideful man and he thinks he is the smartest guy in the room. It hasn't to be tough looking at the Jerry Jones of the world and thinking he knows more about football than I do. Or at least about winning. -
David Tepper showing his COWARDICE
panthers55 replied to SuperBowlBound's topic in Carolina Panthers
That might be true if he doesn't count on fans putting up millions of dollars to buy tickets. The best thing he has going is that PSL fans have to pay for tickets or sell their PSLs to somebody else at a large discount. If this were only based on season ticket holders who didn't have to renew he would be out there hussling to fill seats with lots of promises. -
David Tepper showing his COWARDICE

Why would he talk to the media knowing how everyone feels. There is little he could say that would make me feel better at this point. -
CJ Henderson's Tampa performance. Could he become a force in 2022?
panthers55 replied to SCO96's topic in Carolina Panthers
Why do folks act as if we can't sign whoever we want. Cap space is easy to manipulate so we have plenty if we structure it properly. And honestly after giving Tepper lots of money for a crappy product I am fine with him spending a ton to upgrade this team. He owes us given this is year five coming up and we have had no winning seasons to show for it. Finally in this division the secondary is critical and we had tons of injuries. We need as many talented players as we can get. With that said if it is between Jackson and Gilmore give me Gilmore. Jackson plays small and can't defend larger receivers like Gilmore can. -
The Bucs won't rest starters, will play to win
panthers55 replied to LinvilleGorge's topic in Carolina Panthers
Good for them. At this point I don't want to win a meaningless game. While I never root for us to lose as that just goes against my DNA I am not miserable if we lose like I have been up to this year. Then again if we don't go Oline or QB in this draft then great draft position won't matter. There is plenty of blame to go around but if Rhule can't get it down then we need to find someone who can. It sounds like Tepper may give Rhule 1 more year if the team shows they haven't given up. This will be year 5 coming up for Tepper as an owner. He has done nothing but put a losing product on the field since he took over. He needs to make Rhule get coordinators with proven success. We could be ok with Rhule if his staff were more experienced and competent. -
I don't find watching Cam who is a shell of his former self struggling with this terrible offense entertaining. Truth is with each big hit he continues to take just makes it more likely he will end up like many old players with brain damage. He needs to move on and retire. He has nothing to prove.
-
At this point he is under contract for 2022 and will be on the roster if he isn't cut or traded. So it isn't if we keep him as much as who do we find that is much better so he isn't our best option. And right now as bad as he is, he is the best option right now.

Sam is right, few if any offensive folks are playing well and he acknowledged that he wasn't playing well before he said anything about anyone else. Still with better line work and guys catching the ball we could be scoring a lot more. Yesterday Sam put the ball right on the mark several times only to have the receiver drop it.

Robby Anderson: “We don’t want no fake fans”
panthers55 replied to Panthers Rhule's topic in Carolina Panthers
I have to admit that my enthusiasm level has been lower than any since Cam arrived. The 2-6 records at home the past 3 years and few if any victories in December make it hard to keep cheering. Paying thousands of dollars every year for this production on the field. There is no fanbase who won't boo their players when they have had enough. Then cheer for them 10 minutes later when they do something great. If he wants cheering fans then let's start winning. Until then the booing has just begun. -
Thanks for the concern and Merry Christmas.

I thought every thread was a Cam thread these days.

I love Cam and hate to see the same thing that happens to every great player in the league with the exception of Brady who is an alien and not worldly. It happens to every quarterback sooner or later. Cam's game is physical and always has been. If we are honest with ourselves, we knew he wasn't going to last 15 or 20 seasons playing that way and he was going to have to adapt to a pocket passer. But his shoulder injuries derailed that. So here we are at season 11 and Cam has played hard and done everything he could. He has nothing to prove or stick around for. I can't see Fitterer paying Cam as a starter next year. And do you think he would play for 5 million or less. So honestly what are the chances he is around next year even if Rhule is gone. No new coach will have ties to any player or coach. Certainly not one who last victory for us was years ago. Cam deserves better than to hang on like most players try to do.
