    Overall I like the hire in the aspect that Dave wants to be here and frankly I don’t see Morgan working well with someone like Ben Johnson who (I’m paraphrasing here) wants to be choosey and perfect. Morgan worked with Canales yes but I don’t picture Dan and a ”I guess I’ll work here” coach working well.

    Atlanta just announced they are doing the same thing. I’m of the belief that this is just looking into the wording too much and that the coach and GM are both on the same field when it’s comes to hierarchy.

    My buddy with ties to Monken said that what Monken does best is find what the player excels at and just do that. I believe Canales has the same mindset and just younger.

    Kyle Shanahan led 49ers had the #2 pick in 2019 as well as the Lions in 2022. Things take take unfortunately and if we draft high so be it but we will get a player.

    See if that’s true, you have all these posters bitching “we need to have a GM and HC structure like everyone else” but the same folks will say “naw Vrabel can have roster control”. It’s one or the other and let me tell you, this team was burned from 2020-2022 with a roster control coach even if he was an Idiot.

    Canales will not be one and done, there are no expectations next year just like the Panthers in 2011 after having the worst record. You improve to 6 or 7 wins thats trending up. Hell, The 49ers had the #2 pick with Kyle at one point.
