Here is the thing, people think that the GM is the end all be all with talent evaluation but people like Howie Roseman, the Executive of the year type, don’t have scouting background and are good at delegating that job. It’s about knowing how to work the league and how to find people to do the talent scouting. Basically your GM is the president of football ops. It’s why Samir got interviews a few years ago.

Every job has pros and cons. Our spot sucks right now because you have to rebuild but that also gives you time. A team like LA you have these huge contracts that you have to figure out. You have the QB (in theory) but what do you do with the roster and are people patient? It’s about weighing what you want.

I see where you coming from but I will say this, Bryce can get stronger and be able to shake off people better than this year, Tua did it. but also you can’t tell me that he can’t have the game slow down and be able to process better. or have an actual offense in place to benefit him. Panthers fans are so focused on how Cam changed things for us in 2011 on a dime but that’s not how things work. To say that Bryce is a finished product is not fair. I was down on him but damn you get him into a open area with WRs that can catch and you can’t stop him. Him college tape and his nfl tape shows that. Bryce young and Josh Allen are not the same. This is known because this is reality. Josh Allen was viewed as a erratic thrower bust after his rookie year. I’m sorry Bryce isn’t 6’5 but I’m not writing him off because of a bad rookie year which is the norm in the league.

Again we are in the unknown phase of the offseason. We thought we had a great offseason and it turned into a dud. The nfl is the not for long league for a reason and even the little things can turn your favor. See Houston. I’m of the opinion that most rosters are 6-8 win rosters and it depends on the staff to get what you can out of them.

I’m not expecting playoffs or anything but a turn around to get back to 7-8 wins isnt off the table depending on what happens this offseason.
