Doubling down on Young. I don't like it. We NEED Young insurance.

Because people understand situations and surrounding talent/coaching matter. because people realize you can’t accurately judge a rookie by this poo. how do people watch how god awful the panthers were from top to bottom and think taking a QB at 33 is the smart thing to do? -
Steve Wilks owning Dan Campbell yet again.

I don’t care about the Lamar vs Allen debate. all I know is the Chiefs defense is REALLY good. -
Yeah Russell was pretty lucky too. His receivers were S tier on broken plays
-
Purdy might be the luckiest QB to ever play this game. From Defenders dropping picks that hit them right in the hands to bounds off of face mask right into his receivers hands. Crazy.

Lions are 20-30% of the stadium. They’ve travelled well all season.

You can make the argument either way. on one side, having EE means Canales staff isn’t full of “his” guys and it’s open to Tepper meddling. on the other it 1) allows Canales to focus on the Offense and get that unit right which it desperately needs and 2) EE is one of the top DCs. You know you have a guy that’s going to be able to produce a good unit even when it’s riddled with injuries. I say it’s better having him than not. Especially if the defense has another good year he is likely gone next year getting a HC job.

Football is the ultimate team game. It’s really hard to separate his play from the 10 other guys on the field. Collectively as a unit they struggled. Improve the unit, improve the scheme and the kid will show why he was taken first overall. -

You don’t get drafted first overall without there being talent there. There is nothing assumed about it. Whether that talent can translate is a different question but the talent remains. Simply put no QB could succeed given the circumstances this past season. Did Bryce contribute to those circumstances. Yes. Do you give up on the rookie because of that? No. That’s the question being discussed here. Change the scheme, get better coaching around him, fix the oline, add some receivers. If he is still playing bad after that then obviously you move on. But you can’t expect a successful franchise if you are so flippant with highly rated players not living up when you give them poo situations. it’s been proven countless times a QBs landing spot and situation is the biggest determiner of success. -
You got any time stamps? Any specific weeks he mentions this? Ya know instead of being an ass?
-
Dude what is your problem? This is like the third thread you’ve commented on just being an ass for no reason. It’s super weird to assume someone is lying. What do I have to gain by that? I’m legit asking for any links.

Baseline talent and investment. do you think the first overall pick and a 7th rounder would be the same? -
Can you post some of those? I haven’t seen them. I mainly was watching Qb school breakdowns this year but I didn’t remember JT saying anything about that. Mainly the scheme and receivers being ass

When McDermott and Beane went to Buffalo they became Panthers North. We hire Canales and Morgan and we are becoming Seattle East lol

Cool. Now go look up all the first round qbs who had slow starts and their teams still stuck with them the following season. I guarantee you’ll find tons of examples of other teams being “idiotic” as you put it lol Pro tip: if you argument requires leaning on the exception over the rule it’s probably not a very good one. -

Can you name any first overall pick that was given on after his rookie season? No? Didn’t think so. -
I doubt we see EE go anywhere unless it’s to take the Seattle job. He is the 1st or 2nd highest DC in the league. I doubt 1) we let him out of his contract unless Canales wants someone else and 2) other teams are willing to match or give him a pay raise vs what he was getting here. its in both parties interest to stay. We get a good DC, he gets to continue to get paid and build his resume for next off season.

I know people will hate this but realistically Bryce should be given the 2024 AND 2025 seasons. we all know this roster is a mess and it won’t be even close to competing next year but 2 off seasons and a true 1 round pick heading Bryce’s 3 year should be enough to see what we have. That will be a better roster, a full year with the coaching staff/scheme and a more complete roster than what we will have next year. it would be idiotic to waste what little picks we have now on a QB who wouldn’t fare any better. -
I think we got a smart gameplanner, communicator, and teacher. im pretty high on this hire. There’s gonna be some growing pains as he learns to be a HC but im going to remain patient and optimistic until shown otherwise. Bryce should be in good hands. Now Dan go out and get Tee Higgins.

Ok sorry I’ll rephrase. They had a good running back. Are you happy? holy crap people are on this board are miserable.
-
Because they had no depth but Richaard White was good this year.
-
They had White who was kinda inefficient as a runner but was 10 short from a 1K season and was good out of the back field in catching. To say they didn’t have a run game isn’t really true.
-
We didn’t even interview Brian Johnson. We requested and then quietly moved away from him, never actually setting something up.

Atlanta beat writers are saying that Rich McKay has been the road block between them landing Belichick. McKay is an old friend of Blanks and helped realize the new stadium project and parleyed that influence into having high executive powers. It’s being leaked from someone in the organization.

The guy from the goonies was great in this show!
