  1. It’s been awhile since I’ve posted on here. Life got crazy mid season for me and after things calmed down the Panthers were so putrid that there wasn’t a point in caring. There’s been an awful lot of talk now about what we do in the draft. He have a very high pick incoming and then nothing for a hundred picks or so. Not only that, but virtually nobody is excited about Rhule using those picks. Everyone here is asking “what do we do? Do we draft OL, QB? Do we try to trade back and try to recoup one of the picks we traded away? Do we trade away players to recoup picks we traded?” I want Rhule gone. We all want Rhule gone. But I don’t hate Tepper for giving him 3 years. To many it feels like a wasted season and I completely get and respect that. But I think it’s also a sign of good will to the next guy we hire. It signals that we will give him time and not cut him in a year. Perhaps that is the intention. But in the meantime none of us trust this current HC with the future of our franchise. So my ideal solution would be to take this draft out of his hands. I would like to see us attempt to trade away this years 1st for a 1st next year and a 3rd or 4th this year. It would have to be to a contender looking to move up and win now. And it would painfully mean passing on high end Oline talent (which if we keep the pick it better damn well be Oline). But it would recoup a pick we traded away and would force Rhule to improve the team he built here. It would keep our future somewhat protected because rather than letting Rhule use another first, we would have it stored sear for the next man in charge. It would also give us capital to trade up for a QB next season. That could be another attractive piece to lure in a good HC. Having two firsts could be a great way to mold this team how he sees for or to move up and get his guy at QB. It’s probably unlikely, but this is my best case scenario since we are retaining Rhule. It prevents him from completely mortgaging our future this season and could entice potential HC candidates and sway them to come here next season. I am also in favor of trading CMC to a contender, but again, I would value getting those picks next season rather than this year. I say we trade this years 1st for a 1st next season and a mid rounder this year. Trade CMC for a 3rd next year if possible. Give Rhule one last chance to save his job (which he won’t) and put the next guy in a position to really build this team in the draft in his first year here. What are your thoughts? It seems unlikely this would even be possible if Rhule still has full control. But could he be stripped of that and it so, is this a remote possibility? Would you be on board with this?
  2. I’m not disagreeing with you or excusing it. But damn I wish I was being exploited for a few million dollars rather than the 24 an hour I get exploited for currently.
  3. Sliding already means a defender can’t do much more than tap you without giving up an additional 15 yards so I really don’t like faking it. That’s honestly ridiculous
  4. One of my requirements for GM and HC moving forward is that they not have interest in drafting a RB in the first two rounds ever. Short career when they do stay healthy and easily replaced. I don’t want us to draft a RB in the 1st ever again. I don’t care if he looks like the next Ladainian Tomlinson. Never. Again.
  5. I suspect much of his success comes down to Phil Snow and I say that as a Rhule supporter when we hired him. Rhule as a coordinator may not be very compelling. Perhaps the prize you get with hiring Rhule is that Snow comes with him.
  6. 4 weeks ago I would have poo’d this post and gone on a rant about Teddy talking nonsense and the signs of improvement from last season to this season... but that would have been my reaction for weeks ago. Now? I hope Tepper does what I wanted him to do when he came here. Tear the ENTIRE thing down, add fist fulls of draft picks and get an NFL coach and let him build this team accordingly.
  7. Yeah that play was wild. I watched it live and must have hit rewind 5 times lol
  8. We need to land Myles Turner before the deadline. If we could pull that off then this team will be set to make a deep run.
  9. So I’ve not been able to this joint as often as usually due to a family situation that has taken my attention. My brother had a serious heart scare. Thankfully he’s doing much better now. With that said, I’ve got to own up to my misguided hopes. I was never one that believed Darnold was the answer. But I did believe he could be salvaged and be good enough. I felt he was very talented with a good arm and was mishandled on NY. I still do feel that way. And for the first few games of the season he looked damn good. But once the offensive line collapsed and he started feeling pressure he became the Sam Darnold mistake machine. And I admit, my optimism for him was wrong. I owe @LinvilleGorge, @Waldo... a few other I can’t think of their Huddle names right now this admission. I was quick to defend Darnold to the negative criticisms. They were right and I was wrong. I still think Darnold is a good dude with a lot of talent and I think he plays hard... but mentally he just doesn’t have it. For what it’s worth. I’m still glad we traded for Darnold rather than trading three 1sts for Watson. I still feel the Darnold trade makes more sense, even now. Even without the sex scandal, trading away that much of your future almost always ends in bad places. But now to the positives. Cam is back. I never wanted us to cut Cam for Teddy. I always wanted us to let him play out his final year and see if he could rebound. But I did understand moving on when we did. Cams body was shot and he had lost his deep ball ability. But just like a comic book, Superman now returns and is our only hope for this season. And damn it feels good. It feels really silly to admit this, but I slightly teared up after Cam scored and started yelling “I’m baaaaack!” It feels silly because I’m a 31 year old man watching other grown men playing games and getting emotional about it. But it was more than just about the Panthers. It was about the uncertainty of my brothers health at that time. It was about the worry of my mother’s mental fortitude if we lose him. It was about my 3 year old niece, his daughter and what it would mean for her and the rest of us going forward. Cams TD was more to me last week than just a TD in the NFL on a Sunday. It was a triumph for Cam. He figuratively rose from the ashes and overcame against the odds. It sounds corny feeling such inspiration from it, but I genuinely did. And my brother appears to be okay moving forward as well. I was wrong to feel such optimism about Sam. I still like him and I still understand the trade, but the doubters were right. He isn’t the answer. And Cam isn’t the long term answer. But he’s given me a little hope that the season isn’t over. And he’s given me a little inspiration outside of football. We aren’t anybody’s favorite. But we never really have been. Let’s give the league hell for the rest of this season and keep mother fugging pounding.
  10. We play with a ton of energy and Rozier hasn’t even got going yet. Once he gets out on the court, this team is really scary. We aren’t title contenders yet, but we may not be terribly far off from that conversation. If things continue as they have the last couple of years, we could be in that discussion in another two years. Which I never thought could be possible with this team in this market. This poo is fun.
  11. Why didn’t the chicken wear pants? Cause his pecker’s on his head.
  12. This is definitely a fair assessment. And I know some dislike calling him “basically a rookie” but I think it is warranted to some degree. He’s shown he has much more potential than what he showed in NY and he’s still really young. Hopefully he can correct some of this with coaching? He’s very talented. I was already on board with him from an arm perspective. I didn’t imagine he could be this much of a threat on the ground. I’m willing to be patient. The talent is there and I think he could be our QB moving forward for awhile if he can continue to improve. But there will be some sloppy moments (and sloppy games) going forward.
  13. They needed to float this idea out when the Ravens were looking everywhere for a RB. He would have seemingly been a good fit there in a power run scheme. Not so much here I'm afraid. Talented player but not a great fit.
  14. The injuries suck but they will be without some key talent as well. That Oline is taking a loss without Collins and that is not someone you want to lose facing our team. We also have a long week to prepare and they will be on a shortened week having played Monday. That gives us quite a lot of extra time to rest, recover and game plan for them. Ultimately I could see this going either way, but I am certainly not going into this "scared" by any means. The extra time is a big advantage for getting the next man up acclimated and ready. I know I have oddly built a reputation for being a dumb homer here simply for supporting the Darnold trade (which how is that working out so far?) but I think we win this one. Mainly for our long week to their short week advantage. That's a pretty big deal. Either way it falls, I expect this game to be close. But this is definitely one we can win and I think the extra time gives us the advantage, even with having to travel to Dallas. We'll find out soon.
  15. IF he proves to be the prospect people hoped he would be AND Jaycee Horn returns healthy next year and is the prospect we hope/believe he can be, suddenly we have by far the greatest secondary Carolina has ever fielded. Two CBs drafted in the top 10 just one year apart (insanely young and on rookie deals) along with a superstar safety. Add to the fact Jackson is playing awesome, Shaq is playing awesome and we have an incredible Dline with two nearly unstoppable pass rushers... our defense in the next few years could be absolutely unbelievable. This could be the beginning of what could be the most feared defense in the league in a couple years time. If these coaches really can coach up players to help them reach the next level. The potential of this defense is genuinely unreal.
  16. People here told me we should trade three 1sts for Zach Wilson... no. I will not stop repeating this over and over for the rest of the season. The reactionary meltdown children that throw a fit when they don’t get what they want should be embarrassed. Cause I’m damn tired of hearing that poo every season.
  17. It’s almost like some of us somehow managed to withhold our judgement on Darnold based on factors such as the Jets terrible roster and Gase’s terrible track record. Huh.
  18. As already stated though. Rhule has had him for 6 games lol. If you are pinning it on Rhules it’s more showing your bias towards disliking him because Rhule has barely used CMC since he’s been the coach here.
  19. I hear what you are saying but CMC is still quite young. He’s essentially not even played under his new massive contract yet considering he only played 3 games last year. We are two games into this season. So if we are suggesting he can’t handle that workload over two games a season then we have a much bigger problem. Again. I find it more likely that this is related to being a short week of rest especially when there’s a definite correlation between injuries and Thursday night games.
