Welp… Stroud is the guy, right?
TheMostInterestingMan replied to TheMostInterestingMan's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's dominating right now -
This week he still could be involved on an extremely limited basis. But next week he will be playing. While they will implement him in the passing game, the 49ers aren't known for passing to their RBs too often. CMC will be on the field with the understanding that he is getting the ball and running or being used in pass protection. But he will be on the field a lot next week.

Dig a hole? Lol what are you even talking about dude? I’m not even arguing with @LinvilleGorge and conceded to being wrong about Darnold to him personally last season lol.
-
Lol wtf is this statement BS you are spewing? And because I was wrong about something means I’m no longer allowed to discuss things on the message board of been a member of for 10 years? Interesting take but it’s at least cool to know you have never been wrong about something discussed on here and can therefore message freely. Must be nice.

I need to fugging hold a press conference to appease you? Lmfao I’ve admitted I was wrong. However that A) isn’t what I’m defending now and B) was never what I wanted the team to do in the first place. As that’s documented. Why you feel the need to be a dick about it towards me, I have no idea. But I have said the trade was bad multiple times. But we are discussing Fitt now. And if he was told to get a QB and it was between Watson with legal issues for three 1sts or Darnold for a 2nd and a 4th then yes, he still made the right fugging decision. Get it? Do you see my point? Or are you just gonna go on about “aDmIt YoU wErE wRoNg”

That’s basically what the combine is and I can’t knock the arm talent displayed in the video. But I just don’t buy the hype this guy is getting. He’s not doing it for me. -
I have admitted as much. But in context, no. If Fitt was told to go get a a QB and his options were Darnold for a 2nd and 4th or Watson for three 1sts then imo he still made the correct call. But by all means, be a c*but if it suits you better. Just know that throwing out context in the current conversation make you a football genius. I was wrong about my optimism for Darnold. But said multiple times that I wish we had kept Teddy and drafted a QB. That was always my position. But I preferred Darnold to Watson. If I’m not mistaken, you wanted to trade the future for Watson. How do you think that would have worked? Neither option turned out to be a good one. And we should have just kept Teddy and drafted a QB in the end.
-
Lol wow. What an ass. I have admitted multiple times that I was wrong about it and have no problem doing so. But I’m not now defending the trade. I’m defending Fitt. But go on internet edge lord, do you.

Say what you want, but at the time he was not far removed from a 1st over QB taken that had been on a badJets team. Did the trade work out? Obviously not. But at the time it wasn’t bad value. And again, those who did support it (admittedly I was one) supported more because it was a trade that didn’t cost us multiple 1st rounders. Because the talk had been trading three 1sts for Watson. That would have also been a miss, but a significantly more costly one.

A lot of people on here (myself included) get sort of unfairly pointed at as being excited about the Darnold trade. I wasn’t excited about it. Did I have some hope he could pan out? Sure. But I wasn’t in love with trading for Darnold. What I was happy about was that we went the route of trading for him rather than shipping out three 1sts for Watson. And when you compare the two, I still absolutely feel we did better. Look, Watson hasn’t played in about 2 years now. He would have cost us multiple firsts and he still would have been playing under terrible coaches, if he had even played. So you sort of have to compare the two to each other. And ask me right now, would I have preferred the trade we made for Darnold or the trade the Browns made for Watson. Guess which one I’m picking today? It’s Darnold hands down. So if his task was to go find another QB, then yeah. All things considered, I say it was decent value

Yeah I will admit I don’t typically buy into the rule of not drafting players from certain position in certain programs narrative but it does usually warrant some consideration. But I don’t feel that for Stroud at all. Bryce Young is intriguing, Levis etc but Stroud to me is just the clear #1 QB. He’s arm and his pocket awareness are pretty advanced for the collegiate level and I like that he doesn’t rely on his legs when his first and second option isn’t available. He can move but it bodes well imo that he still waits fir his receivers to get open and trusts his arm. -

There are some other really bad teams out there for sure, but we currently rank as the worst in the league and that’s before we started shipping off starters including our best player. I think we see Shaq go if someone calls for him as well. I just think we got the head start on tanking over the rest of the league and I find it unlikely we don’t finish with the worst record this season -
Like I said, I’ve been in favor of this since before the season even started. It was clear we weren’t ready to be contenders and I’ve banged on the drum of trading him. My only issue with your comments was acting like he wasn’t a good player when clearly he is and acting like anyone defending him as a player was a racist which clearly isn’t the case. But I did feel moving him for assets was in our best interest. Ultimately we both wanted the same thing. I just didn’t get way you had to bash CMC or fans of CMC in the process. But he’s gone now and we both got what we wanted. So how bout a truce?

I’m not mad. I wanted us to trade him. You just pooing on him for the last week is weird dude.

Realistically a new staff will want to pick their guy anyway. I think once Rhule was canned, Corrals days here were pretty much by default -

Just not my jam but to each their own. I have no doubt it’s more enjoyable than this mess lol -

It is, but I said as much. But at this point the rest of this season is just draft speculation and I wonder what we perceive as our biggest needs heading into next year. -
Burns is probably going to be traded right?
TheMostInterestingMan replied to firefox1234's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think so as well. A competent coach and a top drafted QB could have us back on top sooner than it feels like right now. I could see us back in the mix in two years if we don’t fug with HC selection up. -

That’s not too hard. I would say packed with plenty of fans… wearing green, red… whatever color isn’t ours really lol -

I’m not disagreeing with you on one hand. But we still have a lot of young talent, a really good offensive line finally and as bad as Tepper was with how long he kept Rhule, it does signal to incoming coaches that they will be given time. And that’s something. -
Lol but seriously, we will have the #1 pick and a QB will be taken. I dunno if it’s Stroud but that’s where I would place my bet. We have compiled more day 2 picks so what will the plan be? Assuming we really are shopping Shaq, we have to grab a LB. TE is also a need, but I’m not sure we wouldn’t address that on FA this year. Could we target a day 2 RB? I don’t like Hubbard and Foreman is fairly one dimensional. We need another DE. As bad as we are, I actually really do like this team. We are 2-3 pieces of having a really strong defense imo. What we lack across the entire staff is coaching. Get some NFL caliber play callers and then defense is really good. Offensively, I do have more questions, but I feel our line has FINALLY been addressed. Inserting a rookie behind this line is much easier than what we had in the past decade. I don’t think we trade DJ unless he demands it. But even so, I dunno if we have a good #2 WR. I feel like we have DJ and multiple guys in the #3 WR range. So after round 1 where do you think this team looks to go? Having a few day 2 picks makes it interesting. What say you? I realize part of this may well depend on the incoming staff, but we have months of nothing but speculation at this point. It’s an oddly exciting time to be a Panthers fan knowing a #1 pick at QB will generate a lot of interest and possibility, but damn if this season isn’t excruciatingly painful.

Congrats Frank lmfao. I know nobody hates CMC more than your punk ass. Pop some bubbly and enjoy your night. Lol
-
If we could find a buyer for DJax then I’ll pull that trigger as well and call it a job well done.

Foreman spelled CMC last week the bulk of the time. I imagine he’s the RB1 now
