  1. You heard it here first. We trade back and pick up Texans 2, 12, and 1st next year. 2. - CJ Stroud 12. - Nolan Smith Next year's 1st - Marvin Harrison
  2. I would want the 2, 12, and their Brown's 1st next year. To make it sweeter, we would give them our 2nd round pick this year.
  3. I also believe, particularly after Purdy's limited success, a lot of teams are putting a lot of stock into the S2 testing. I mentioned this jokingly in another thread, but now if I were a top QB prospect, I would never take this test even if I knew I would score well. Stroud may now very well be the fourth QB taken off the board because of it. Again, teams who do highly value this test will now look back on Stroud's career, and put more stock into his receivers and O-line (at least one of his tackles will be a first rounder) as being a key to his success at Ohio State.
  4. I wouldn't mind seeing Stroud go to the Raiders. If the Texans are really adamant on passing up on him, it would be interesting to see if someone trades up to get him, or he simply begin to fall down the board. The wildcard is Anthony Richardson. I just think about what happened to Aaron Rodgers and how far he fell. During that time, only he and Alex Smith were seen as top QB prospects. In this one, you have 4. Could Will Levis jump in the mix?
  5. Haha! The only thing Stroud did was come here and whoop McCown's behind in basketball, then he left.
  6. I'm not excited about it at all to be honest, but I've come to accept it. Young isn't a short QB, he is a SMURF QB!!! To those from fans to the media who think this will have absolutely zero impact on his career as an NFL QB, you all are super confident. I would say naïve, but I hope you are right. As for me, he only has one year to prove himself worthy. If he struggles mightily in his first year, particular if the struggles relate to his size, I might have to consider putting in my Panthers card for a bit. Especially if Stroud has success. I mentioned it in another thread I did, if Young fails and Stroud explodes on the field, I'm done as a Panthers fan.
  7. There is no question all the talk out there is the Panthers will take Young. What this means is, if the Texans want him and only him, they will have to trade up to get him. I'm making no bones about it, I am crossing my fingers for this to happen. We trade back with Houston and pick up their extra 1st at minimum, and if we can do better than that, I will never doubt Fitz ever again. Finally we draft CJ Stroud.
  8. I read a random comment saying Young has taken this test (or something similar) since he was in high school. I don't know if this is true, but I wouldn't doubt it seeing his dad is a psychologist or something like that. It brings up an interesting point of whether this test is more of a standardized one, something you can prep for and get better at it the more you take it. According to Albert Breer, Young scored a 98. All that said, if I were an agent for future first round value QBs, I would tell them straight up, "DON'T TAKE THIS TEST"!!!!! According to some, Stroud should now go undrafted because of this test. (Being funny)
  9. And we don't even know what would be considered a low score. We don't know if the ones who scored low for the past 7 years, were 5th rounders or later. We have no context of anything.
  10. Yeah man I'm tired of these tests, and won't even share the actual scores. Y'all remember the Wonderlic test? What happened to that one? Another fun fact, QBs who scored low on the Wonderlic test: Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, Donovan McNabb, Terry Damn Bradshaw!
  11. I certainly wouldn't mind trying to fleece them. Truthfully if I were in the Panthers organization, I wouldn't even fool with this strategy unless I could get the Texans' 12th pick in a trade back.
  12. I would take that to mean they don't think Young is worth trading up for.
  13. If Young is the QB the coaching and front office want, I would have to say it would be foolish with Stroud on the board. If teams around the league (including the Panthers) closely relate these two guys in terms of future success, you have to take the one who's more prototypical. Even if Young is the better guy, he is only SLIGHTLY better.
  14. I doubt they don't take Stroud if he is there, just like I doubt they wouldn't take Young. My thing is, if Young is so special, why wouldn't they trade up for him?
  15. You have to ask yourself this question, if Bryce Young is the unmistakably better QB, why are the Texans cool with waiting and taking Stroud? If Washington could have moved up to take Andrew Luck back in 2012, they would have done that with all their heart and soul. Carolina would be an absolute fool to not take CJ Stroud.
  16. We will let the Texans be the guinea pig experiment team with the "Steph Curry" QB in Young. Give us the sure thing of Stroud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Back in the day, O-linemen weighed about as much as linebackers weigh today.
  18. Somebody asked if Stroud and Young were the same size, would it be any question who was the number one pick. For me, I would still go with Stroud because I favor his style of play. That's not to say Young is a scrambler or anything like that, but he is more big play ball. I like the guy who is more methodical. A 10 yard pass here, a slant there. Just someone who gets under the opposing defense's skin. Above all else, as I said of Stroud before, throwing is effortless for him. There is nothing like a skill that is second nature, and Stroud's skill is throwing. So can I live with it as a Panther's fan if we don't pick him and Young struggles. It would be like for me, the same feeling I had when Tom Brady threw those three miracle bombs to Mike Evans to end our run for the playoffs. I was asking myself what in the living heck are we doing out there? How can we let this happen? All you had to do was put a safety over the top, and it wasn't like Mike Evans was the fastest guy in the world. (I still want to dump CJ Henderson and Keith Taylor from this team for their transgressions LOL!) If we pick Young and he bombs, I'm going to be thinking 'What are we doing'? I wouldn't feel this way if Stroud wasn't available by the way. If Stroud stayed in college for instance, and the top QBs available were Young/Richardson/Levis, I would be 1000% okay with picking Young and letting the consequences be what they would be. I just feel like Stroud is about as a sure lock for greatness as there can be outside of a Peyton Manning, John Elway, or once in a generation type. My feeling is Stroud's floor is a longer version of Andrew Luck's career.
