  1. If that happens I'll send you a Heinlein novel. Hell, if you manage to even win I'll send you one.
  2. As far as I know that was Sagan's only fiction work.
  3. He was displaying the futility there. Yes, is wasn't finally realized until the statue, but he was displaying it there.
  4. Good start. I assume you read Contact by Sagan. He was brilliant in his knowledge, but as a scientist his creativity in fiction was limited. I did like the novel very much and respected him.
  5. It was because he realized he was back on his original Earth in his future and he recognized the total futility of everything in which he had previously believed. He laughed because he finally realized everything he had believed in was lost. A strong statement. It was an expression of loss.
  6. Check out Stranger in a Strange Land. A definitive start on his entering his works. In my opinion the greatest SciFi author that ever lived. Sunday!
  7. As I do myself. Have you read Robert Heinlein? Much of the same "think".
  8. And you do not understand that moment? Geeez. Watch it over and over until it sinks in. If it doesn't ... I still love ya' man for trying.
  9. Yup. Best you give up. One of the more classic scenes in American cinema. It was the ultimate defining moment of the movie.
  10. Still don't get it. There is a very real reason why Taylor laughed. Research, my friend.
  11. I now know with whom not to discuss intelligent subjects.
  12. Oh, my God! The moon landing. WOW! Sorry, my friend. You have just lost every bit of credibility with all of your forum mates. Of course, given you had any credibility to begin. Moon landing! LOLOLOL!
  13. Just as I thought. George Taylor realized something at this point. You apparently haven't. That said, you have watched this movie several times and never understood all of the underlying meanings? Sorry, Shocker ... I am shocked. Or maybe disappointed.
  14. No. I'm not explaining the concept of the short scene. I want your interpretation and compare it to the actual meaning. Tag, buddy, you're it.
  15. I was right. You have no idea of the context of that clip. Try watching the movie and paying attention.
  16. I assume you do not understand the context of that film clip.
  17. Ouch! As much as I pull against the Panthers I will never condone that approach. Do everything you can do to win every game and to hell with the draft.
  18. We will see. I wish we could be sitting there watching the game together drinking our beverage of choice (I'm buying).
  19. It's not only in the in game coaching battle. It is in preparation. I believe Payton may have a little league up on that sort of prep on the NFL level. Maybe, perhaps, kinda.
  20. Interceptions are not Lattimore's forte. He has ten career picks but his ability to shadow his man is what makes him so great. A thumb will not interfere with that.
  21. It is honestly the deepest (Saints) roster I have ever seen top to bottom. The cuts were tough. There's vets and lot's of very talented youth.
