#9 is every panther free agency ever lol Needless to say more often than not it hasn't worked out for us
-
If I were gm I would've just resigned our guards from last year to bargain bin deals , splurged on a LT and drafted a couple oline in rounds 1-4. Makes no sense to spend on injury prone castoffs and it will keep the oline turnstile turning .
-
Why is this franchise in love with injury prone bad to mediocre free agent Oline? Part of the reason why we've had so much turnover at oline for so long . These could be Hurney signings and I wouldn't know the difference . At least they're somewhat young and didn't break the bank. That's about all I can say.

Had a great career but this is long long overdue. Maybe we can actually win some games vs the Saints now lol

Trey Lance - best QB of this draft not named Lawrence
Hoenheim replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
Id take him at 8 no problem. Trading up to 3 or 4 though I'm not sure how I'd feel . It's really tough to say who will be the better QB career wise out of Wilson Fields and Lance . You could say Wilson and Lance are more one year wonders , I still think Fields is the best option not named Lawrence. But we really won't know until they've all been in the league for 3-4 years . If Lance dropped to us and essentially ended up as this year's Herbert that would be nice . Not too confident that will happen though. If the Panthers really like any of the top 4 QBs they'll have to trade up if they want to make sure they get their guy. Jets, Atlanta, Detroit , and Philly could all easily pick a QB or trade with someone who wants one. Also everyone else in the NFL knows we're thirsty for a QB. So waiting at 8 is a death sentence. Teams will be clamoring to trade up with Philly or Detroit to leap us if Lance or Fields falls . -
I'd take norwell and turner back for cheap to be honest. We don't have much at LG or RG .

Chris Simms “no way the panthers draft Lance at 8”
Hoenheim replied to GoobyPls's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's still the most logical pick if we stay at 8 and a qb slides to 8 -
No clue Maybe he wants to redeem himself after he got paid and promptly was out with injuries most of the season.

Teddy Bridgewater likely on the outs in Carolina
Hoenheim replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
Is Minshew any better than Teddy? That screams to me like a Bridgewater signing Trubisky or Darnold would be worse -
Teddy Bridgewater likely on the outs in Carolina
Hoenheim replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
We should have done that last year but I'm guessing Hurney was trying to save his job (would explain the Whitehead and Weatherly signings as well as Teddy). If we did it might be us with the first pick or at least guaranteed to have one of Lawrence Fields or Wilson -

NBC's Peter King wont be suprised if Mac Jones goes ahead of Lance
Hoenheim replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we had a Superior oline Mac Jones would probably do decent here we already have good weapons . -
It would be nice to get that long term deal done he's more than earned it at this point.

I'd still gladly take him or Lance if they dropped to 8. Keeping all our other picks would be huge. It's looking like Wilson is almost certainly going to either the Jets , Falcons , or some team that trades up high.

Good chance Cam will be Patriots starter in 2021
Hoenheim replied to Ja Rhule's topic in Carolina Panthers
That's not really surprising given their QB options available otherwise. Problem is his shoulder just shot? I saw him just inexplicably ground several balls last season . They definitely need some more WR talent but Cam needs to improve too . Having a mid round pick isn't that great of a position to be in. Not sure how they are looking cap wise but if they were smart they'd draft a couple wr high and sign a marquee one in free agency . I think their oline is pretty good and RB are solid . -
Report: Deshaun Watson would OK trade to Carolina Panthers
Hoenheim replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Honestly Id love to have Watson but I wouldn't be happy trading several years worth of draft picks and high profile players for him. Your throwing all your chips in one basket and if you fail you may be screwed for a while . Just wish there was a way to get him on a reasonable deal . Because the signs are pointing to us giving away way too many assets from a REBUILDING team to sell out for a QB . You'll have to hope Fiterrer will be striking gold on those mid to late rounders for years in a row . Because we wouldn't be able to afford Hurney esque post round 1 draft classes because you've got most of your cap and alot of high round picks all given up for Watson already . -
Why would you try to heckle a athlete at a public event I'm not sure. Just mind your own business if you got nothing good to say. Especially in the age of social media people still haven't learned anything they say or do is instantly recorded .
-
Would gladly take either draft. You can replace Wilson and Ellinger with whatever QB the Panthers decide on is their guy . There's some insane value in a trade down not going to lie . Could basically rebuild the whole oline and shore up the rest of the d in one draft . And if you suck again in 2021 then you draft or trade up for a pat mahomes / watson esque prospect with a much better team around them .

Latest NFL.com mock has us trading up to #2 for Zach Wilson
Hoenheim replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'd honestly be worried about our ability to rebuild the oline and reinforce the D trading that many high picks away in two consecutive years. -
What?
