  1. That trading down could have been a gold mine if he picked the right players Instead of JC Horn at pick 8 he could have gotten any of these slam dunks - Patrick Surtain, Devonta Smith, Micah Parsons, Rashawn Slater. All came off the board right after our pick. Creed Humphrey (starting C for Cheifs and 2x SB Winner) at pick 59 in R2 Instead of TMJ osa odighizuwa (DT Cowboys) at pick 70 in R3 instead of Brady Christensen Nico Collins WR Houston at pick 83 instead of Tommy Tremble
  2. That is 100 percent worth it to me. Trading a 2nd for a 1st is already a win imo unless the team you're trading to is a deep playoff team or something. The fact that we still have another 2nd round pick opens up more options I'd say. It's enough ammo to trade up to jump one of those late playoff teams for a player they really want badly (ex elite WR drops further than expected). And the two 2nd rounders lessens the blow of trading down especially if you're picking up another high pick for 2025 (and keep in mind we don't have a 2nd round pick in 2025). It's a little tantalizing to imagine if we had 2 first round picks in 2025. And we had a poo season along with the team that traded with us. Then all of a sudden you got 2 first round picks in the top 10 in 2025. You can do all sorts of poo with that kind of capital.
  3. Pretty much. Trading 33 just to swap down to much lower 2nd round pick and only picking up a 3rd and a 5th or something isn't worth it. I would only trade down if you're swapping less than 5 picks or less down in the 2nd. I firmly believe that those leftover players with first round grades will fly off the board in the first 10 or so picks of R2. The fact that we already have 2 picks high in R2 is way too valuable to give that up. Unless someone wants to do something stupid like giving us a 1st next year or swapping 2nd rounds this year and giving us a 2nd rounder in 2025 (remember we don't have 2nd round pick in 2025 due to the trade up for Bryce)
  4. Adam Theilen had 1014 and 4 TDs Deiontae Johnson had 717 and 5 TDs That's not too bad imo. So really we just need either Mingo to improve or a drafted WR to be good. Or both ideally
  5. Of course, I can already see irrational panther fans on my Facebook screaming that Morgan should trade for Brandon Ayuik or Tee Higgins right now lol. If we do that boy are we going to be cap strapped for the next couple years. Unless Tillis goes the Saints route and tries to infinity kick the can down the road
  6. Most of us assumed stroud was the pick when we first traded up. But more time passed and the media campaign against stroud revved up and the nut hugging of Bryce that happened simultaneously. The S2 test stupidity was just the icing on the cake.
  7. Bills definitely getting a WR now in R1 They got rid of Josh Allen's two best WRs. Chargers did the same thing oddly enough.
  8. Diggs with Tank Dell and Nico Collins is gonna be a nasty combination
  9. You guys seriously can't wait a few seconds for the tweet to embed before you post I think we posted a thread at the same time
  10. Not panthers related but a pretty big bombshell non the less. Texans went all out this off-season, Joe Mixon, Stephon Diggs, Danielle Hunter, yeesh.
  11. I have no earthly clue why people want to keep drafting the same type of wr repeatedly and expect a different result on the field. How about drafting a dude with legitimate speed and separation with legitimate college production instead of projecting big lumbering dudes to be the next dk Metcalf?? This is why my favorite wr are Troy Franklin and Xavier Worthy
  12. More of an offense focus this time
  13. A ton of People seem to have us taking either Legette or McConkey with our first 2nd round pick. I really wish theyd pick a dude with pure speed and separation ability, and stop gambling on traits vs consistent college production. My top two are Troy Franklin and Xavier Worthy. Legette really scares me with 4 years of no production and 1 year of good production in his last year. Adonai Mitchell similar story. McConkeys looks okay ish, I guess. At some point you have to stop going off 95% projection on these guys and draft the dudes that have proven they can produce? Maybe thats just me. Its almost like the Panthers have been trying to re-draft Musin Muhammad for 25 damn years because hes the only R2 WR that the Panthers ever chose that was worth much of anything. So they keep shooting for big body possession dudes and striking out every single time.
  14. Im glad you arent our GM LOL. This was exactly what Dave Gettleman was thinking when we drafted Vernon Butler in R1 in 2016.
  15. Unrelated but, Hassan Reddick traded to the Jets
  16. He's actually bit younger than I thought. Turned 31 in February so he's 31 for the entirety of next season Not ancient for a pass rusher. Peppers played through age 38 and Bruce Smith through age 40. Obviously Clowney isn't anywhere near that good but we could definitely get 2 very productive seasons out of him.
  17. Did another one with some different players. With this Wed have a pretty deep stable of pass rushers on the team
  18. Post Clowney pickup. Powers Johnson keeps dropping to R2 in this simulator for some reason but I really don't expect him to make it past the Cowboys and Eagles.
  19. Is Sweat at least more of a pass rusher? We already got some primarily run stuffing DTs and that's pretty high to pick yet another one
  20. That's a dangerous gamble imo. He's had very significant lower body injuries 2 seasons in a row and is an unknown at center.
  21. Why do you guys like these slow big WRs that don't get much separation? Why would that be any different from Funchess, TMJ, Mingo etc. It's like you want to keep drafting the same guy over and over.
  22. I like the idea of regaining a 2nd round pick next year that's the last one we're missing from the Bryce trade.
  23. The sort of crazy thing about this draft is if you get defense high you can basically rebuild half our defense in one off season. It's kinda tempting tbh. In reality I think they're going all in on helping Bryce and we can expect to see offense in R2
  24. And that's exactly what scares me about Legette in particular. Too similar to Mingo and TMJ it's like making the same mistake 3x in a row its almost insanity if he is a bust as well. I'd almost rather them go bpa at any other position because the Panrhers historically suck at Drafting R2 WRs with the exception of Musin Muhammad
