I'm afraid to ask how you got to 25 without trading pick 39

Tried one without taking a WR early to mix it up. Less than 1 week left to draft day!

Really good way to start a draft but you know the draft never goes exactly the way you expect it to go

Draft Rumors/Charlie Campbell Notes (Per r/NFL_Draft)
Hoenheim replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't know If that's a good thing. At the very least these rumors of an overly obvious obsession/early reports remind of last draft. Debate what you will but everyone saw the year CJ had vs Bryce. Going by what we've heard thus far it would seem like they're locked in on Legette Not sure that there is any threat of him going in R1 unless someone makes a surprise pick. -
Draft Rumors/Charlie Campbell Notes (Per r/NFL_Draft)

Don't see him getting past the cowboys -
The best one from last year was DJ Johnson. Every panther channel I followed who reacted to it live were genuinely thrown off by it and I was too. Even among some of the draft heads this pick seemed to come out of left field. Also to some degree not many were expecting Mingo either. Bryce was a boring pick because there had been too many different rumors 3 weeks and less leading to draft day. I do remember seeing a dude there on draft day wearing a Panthers jersey with "Stroud" on it, people were laughing at him but in hindsight its not so funny anymore.

Not a big fan of any of these pairings I find it interesting that a lot of places have us taking WR and CB instead of WR and Center

Here's another good one

PFF Day 2 WR projection. Different take
Hoenheim replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
My favorite WRs are Franklin, Worthy, and A.Mitchell. Not a popular take I guess. Almost everyone else is lusting over the Mingo clone. -
Makes no sense at all https://www.profootballnetwork.com/pfn-consensus-2024-nfl-mock-draft-april-13/ 33 Kool Aid McKinstry CB Alabama 39 Trey Benson RB Florida State 65 Malachi Corley WR Western KY 101 Spencer Rattler QB USCarolina 141 Hunter Nourzad OC Penn State 142 Braelon Allen RB WI 240 Eric Watts Edge UCONN Two RBs??? No o line until late. What is the logic for getting a RB at pick 39 instead of a C, WR, DR, or LB?? Corley seems like a project.

That was a really good write up. I'd love those first 2 picks but it's so hard to not see one of them being a WR. I guess in a way that would seriously say something about how highly they value those dudes if neither are a WR.

Anthony Rizzuti's realistic Panthers 7-round mock draft
Hoenheim replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Blah Not a big fan of that one. Maybe a decent CB, and then Coleman is probably the least exciting pick we could make at WR. The mid round picks are solid at least. -
I dont care too much about that if he can play. We've seen Tank Dell and Devonta Smith killing it. I feel like this fanbase is so stuck on size at WR. When the Panthers have drafted nothing but big bodied WRs since drafting Musin Muhammad in R2 all those years ago and not one of them have worked out long term. If you're going to continue to fall on your face drafting WRs in R2, you should at least try to draft a different type of WR. You guys want to keep re drafting Mingo over and over again basically. Until you finally find that unicorn that is basically a clone of DK Metcalf.

For this, You dont get multiple choices. Give me the two players you want the most and why at pick 33 and 39. With the Caveat that they cant be players expected to be in the top 10 or so (Ex. The QBs, Marvin Harrison, Nabers, Alt, Odunze, Brian Thomas Jr., Dallas Turner). Almost anyone else IMO could drop I guess. For me I'd want Jackson Powers Johnson Center from Oregon with pick 33. I think Center is our most pressing need at this point, He's currently projected to be somewhere in the late 1st so theres a good chance he wont be there, but it also shouldn't be too surprising if the late playoff teams go for other needs than Center. We need a young consistent tone setter in the middle of our offense that we have not had since Ryan Kalil left. Corbett is not the answer, hes been injury riddled and has little experience playing the position, he should not be relied upon IMO. I've also done some research and most Centers that are drafted high in the draft tend to be good. With pick 39, I want Troy Franklin also from Oregon. He seems to be the one WR that is getting lost in the sauce right now considering the runaway hype train for prospects like Xavier Worthy, Xavier Legette, Adonai Mitchell. He has a fairly high chance of being there hes got very good speed, very good college production. Hes both tall and a fast downfield burner which I believe compliments our other two top WRs the best (with Theilen being a short to mid range chain mover and Deontae Jonhson being a mid range route running specialist). We dont have anyone on the team so far that specializes in just burning people down the field and Franklin is the perfect answer. I feel like people are over thinking this WR pick like they did with getting Bryce vs Stroud. Franklin is the obvious answer IMO. I'm not interested in these big dudes that can't seperate and/or had limited /one year wonder college production that everyone else seems to be in love with.

I would really love this one.

Panthers extend defensive tackle Derrick Brown
Hoenheim replied to Carolina Panthers's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wow This is huge because Fiterrer just let that Burns deal fester and spoil over years, Morgan signed our best player to a long term deal in his first off-season as GM 3 weeks before the draft. -
Would you be mad if Dan Morgan drafted Payton Wilson with pick 33?
