NFL Honors: Panthers front and center
Hoenheim replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I really wish Steve Smith could've made it in the same year Peppers did. I didn't know all of the people they announced for the new hall of fame players. Hester beyond derseved it. -
Anyone have a decently consise summary of who these dudes are and if they're any good?
-
That is really surprising. I thought he was almost a lock for the commanders. Now im super curious who gets the commanders and Seahawks hc jobs...

I was a Kittle TD away from hitting big on a bet still profited from hitting 5/6 but damn so close!

Did the panthers lose on the CMC trade?
Hoenheim replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
People forget how good he was in 2018 and 2019 on the panthers and we didn't do jack poo on either season. Qb and coaching and drafting in general trump one singular RB -
Did the panthers lose on the CMC trade?
Hoenheim replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
People have selective memory man. Mccafrey was injured often 2 seasons in a row before he got traded and I believe he was the highest paid rb in the league on a sorry ass team. That was an unsustainable situation imo on a team that should have been rebuilding when Rhule got here. Keeping him wouldn't have magically made us into a perennial playoff contender. He set the league on fire in 2018 and 2019 and where did that get us??? Hes making an already good team into a better team with the 49ers. I didn't disagree with the trade but what we did with the picks from the trade was what mattered. Which Fitterer of course squandered. Which makes it a poo trade. Cmc woudlve been wasting away on our team and he's thriving on a much better team. Even if we did somehow finally turn it around at some point he likely would have been on the downswing of his career age wise imo. -
God damn!!! Very predictable Detroit going for it on 4th down twice and failing lost them the game. Really stupid given the game and the circumstances. They had this game locked up at halftime, they absolutely poo the bed. They were beating the dog poo out of the 49ers. What the heck happened at half time?? I'm definitely cheering hard for the 49ers now I'd rather not see the Chiefs win again.

Goff only had to throw one pass on that drive for 14 yards. Everything else was explosive run plays , and Lions get a quick score. And BTW both Jameison Williams and Jahmyr Gibbs were both on that Alabama team when Bryce won the Hiesman. You can see how explosive they are. It helps having elite talent around your QB and an elite o line

It's so infuriating to see other teams get so much production out of rookie wrs and we always draft the ones that don't do poo
-
Ouch. I've got traumatic memories of strip sacks in the playoffs. Cheifs are just way too good in the playoffs.
-
That was expected I guess if you followed the reports for the past few days. Not really sure what to think about it, I'll have to do some research on this dude.
-
I don't think you should count on that. If he improves even a little bit or we have a much better coach that skyrockets our chances of winning more games. The more likely scenario is that coaching will probably be better and Bryce will improve at least somewhat. Or if he doesn't, I don't believe the new coach would do the same as last year's staff and just keep starting him despite the poor performance. He'd probably get benched halfway through the season for a vet starter imo.

There are seemingly at least 2x more major candidates for HC jobs than there are jobs available which should make things interesting in the coming days. 1. Panthers 2. Falcons 3. Commanders 4. Seahawks 5. Raiders (Hired Antonio Pierce) 6. Patriots (Hired Jarod Mayo) 7. Titans ( Hired Brian Callahan) 8. Chargers (Hired John Harbaugh) Major HC Prospects Left 1. Ben Johnson (OC Lions) 2. Bobby Slowik (OC Texans) 3. Bill Belichick (Former HC Patriots) 4. Pete Caroll (Former HC Seahawks) 5. Mike Vrabel (Former HC Titans) 6. Mike Macdonald (DC Ravens) 7. Ejiro Evero (DC Panthers) 8. Frank Smith (OC Dolphins) 9. Dan Quinn (DC Cowboys) And you could of course add Canales to that list for the Panthers specifically.
-
Wouldn't be mad at it tbh I hope they wait until next week to make the hire so they can interview the playoff coaches too, even if we don't have much of a shot to get one.

Donnelly: Process used to hire Morgan was wrong
Hoenheim replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't like this move until I'm proven otherwise, then I'll gladly eat crow. This hire didn't do anything to alleviate my feelings that tepper is the one controlling everyone and making the big decisions that continue to put this franchise in the toilet bowl. -
Not sure If I like this one. Retaining someone and promoting them to gm who was a part of this dumpster fire team/organization isn't a good sign imo

The Last 3 Drafts We Had 22 Total Selections...
Hoenheim replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is what would scare me about retaining Dan Morgan and promoting him to GM. I have no idea how much influence he had on these drafts. But I literally saw him whispering into Scott Fitterers ears during those draft videos lol. -
QB Quandary: 2024 Draft, FA Stopgap, or Stand Pat?
Hoenheim replied to rayzor's topic in Carolina Panthers
fug the stop gap If Bryce sucks let him tank for one more year so we can actually keep our first overall in 2025 and draft a better qb. Getting one in the 2024 draft is a waste of a pick imo. Build the team and see if Bryce improves or not. Whatever happens, we need to avoid trading picks away for a while. Having a team this bad missing 1st and 2nds through 2025 is a killer if you're trying to rebuild. Getting a vet qb and starting him instead will probably win us enough games to get a mid round pick and not truly be able to solve qb. That's what you don't want to do (this has been the commanders for a while prior to this off season where they're expected to get a qb with pick 2) -
The Last 3 Drafts We Had 22 Total Selections...

Also of note, Brady Christensen might be the only offensive lineman we hit on as well if ickey looks the same next year. -
Guess how many of those players turned into pro bowlers or blue chip starters?? Zero. I count about 3 players who are decent. Tremble, Hubbard, and Brady Christensen. Horn has been hurt too much to put him in that group. Brady Christensen is teetering because he's had 2 seasons of getting injured. 2022 and 2023 drafts have 0 impact starters. We been talking about head coaches so much I think the gm hire is a lot more important. Even looking further down our franchises draft history we have a tendency to miss on the majority of our picks no matter the year.

Since everyone has been consistently saying we got Fleeced by the Bears I prerfer you give it an actual grade but you can vote for incomplete I'm also kinda curious what you would have given it right after the trade happened vs after year one was done

NFL Playoffs Divisional Round - Games Thread
Hoenheim replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Chiefs will probably win the Super Bowl again and repeat.
