  1. Definitely need a solid free agent pass catcher and a good drafted WR or TE. I really don't know how good Marshall Jr or Shenault are taking #1 and #2 WR snaps. Shi is a bum. WR room is really thin and need to be addressed ASAP. We don't have to totally resolve it in one off season but we need at least 2 reliable options to catch passes. Right now we might have 0.
  2. Never seen a player get rewarded so much for mediocre performance. I think our need for any sort of decent LB play has been trumping Shaqs actual play on the field for a while now.
  3. Size matters at QB unless you're an exception to the rule like Brees, Wilson, or Murray. IMO it's not wise to bank on Bryce being the exception, especially when he can't run like Wilson or Murray can and he's a lot lighter than both. Brees is 2 inches taller and probably a first ballot HoFer. Stroud is just the obvious safe pick and there's nothing wrong with that. He should be the pick unless the Panthers overthink it. If they do there's going to be a shitstorm among the fan base.
  4. Cam tore it up in his rookie year with an aging smitty and bunch of no names at WR. Did also have Greg and Shockey at TE. But from a purely WR perspective that was not a group people expected much out of and cam passed for 4K+
  5. They're going to get someone in free agency they're not going to sit on their hands with two unknowns at WR imo. Even if it's just a sort of solid WR2 ish dude on a reasonable contract. They could really use any consistent chain mover bc I have no idea how reliable TMJ, draft pick, or Shi Smith will be (last season seems to point to him likely being unreliable barring some unexpected rebirth)
  6. There's some decent free agent options you don't have to draft a rockstar R1 WR. You can use the 2nd or 3rd to get a decent one to pair with TMJ. And maybe over pay one of the top FA WRs to be the #1 option.
  7. Keep him as a cheap backup qb, maybe you can drum up some trade value for him later on if he shows something in pre season or if our starter(s) get injured and he plays and balls in the regular season.
  8. That's going to be the real oversight here, Lovie Smith basically got us the #1 pick
  9. You don't trade up to 1 to trade down again that's fuging idiotic Even if you trade down with the Bears they could end up taking the best QB or the QB you wanted more. Just stupid if that happened.
  10. The thing is it's neigh impossible to make players tank because they're mostly playing for their jobs and how much money they can make In the future. An organization can tank by trading away good players I guess. But that doesn't ever guarantee wins and losses. Even if you as a fan want the team to tank it doesn't really affect whether they win or lose. But I agree that fans shouldn't be vilified for wanting a high enough pick for a franchise QB because that's the fastest route to correcting our consistent losing seasons for the last 5 years.
  11. You can't just assume every project will be Josh Allen imo people love to use exceptional cases and treat them like they're the norm
  12. I don't like all the picks argument. Your top 10 overall pick is worth a lot more than the vast majority of the other ones. All I'm trying to say is it feels weird going out of your way to get a guy that wasn't consistently good in college and had limited playing time. It's a expensive risk especially if you're trading up for him which I think they'd have to do if he does well with combine and pro day stuff. We're at pick NiNE and too many other teams want qbs.
  13. Doesn't make sense to get him unless you're taking a flyer in a later round. You shouldn't be gambling with a top 10 pick. Trading up for him would be even worse if he busts. This is basically akin to being single and miserable for 5 years and falling for the first girl that gives you any sort of attention while ignoring all her red flags bc you're that desperate for a relationship. This whole situation reeks of desperation to me. Recent history with Zach Wilson, Trey Lance are pointing to this being a bad gamble. And they were much better players in college
  14. I'm suprised of the lack of activity on thos thread
  15. That aged well lol. Darnold esque I dare say
  16. The real question is who our OC is going to be out of these coaches appearing today I'm not really rooting for either team they've both won super bowls fairly recently. I guess I should root for the eagles bc of Hassan and Bradberry but I'm not that enthusiastic about it
  17. Seriously man, we haven't had a winning season since 2017. That was 5 seasons ago. That's half a decade of consistent losing. At least before this period we were inconsistently good. I've been a fan since 2003 and a casual fan before that. I remember the good times but it's been entirely too long since the last good times (arguably 2015 or 2017 if you forget about getting 3x swept by the Saints) . I see all these other teams having success and i just get frustrated. I even have a cynical look on the Super Bowl. I dont fuging understand why we have to consistently watch incompetence inconsistency and ineptitude. Do you think we will have the first winning season in 6 years in 2023? Or will we have to wait longer? Will Reich finally lead us to consecutive winning seasons? I know a lot of this is connected to whether we get a good QB too. I really don't know how i feel about our chances of being able to do that without trading the farm for a top 3 pick, and you shouldn't assume we'll be able to do that like a ton of people seem to be. But I understand the frustration with constantly cycling through QBs other teams got rid of. I think Teppers in deep poo if this Reich move doesn't work in the first two seasons. The casual interest for the teams gotta be bottomed out if this doesn't work imo, at least a new staff and QB will temporarily spark interest.
  18. We never completely committed to rebuilding after Tepper took the team over and Rivera got fired. We spend money and backload contracts like were a perrrenial playoff team and that's a problem imo
  19. Bad contracts and extending/backloading them to create space every year put you into a deeper and deeper hole every year. If you don't eventually bite the bullet you're going to have some horrendously huge cap hits when you eventually get to the end of those backloaded deals
  20. Glad I just listened to this game while I got other poo done during the day lol
  21. What happened to Purdy? I just started listening not too long ago.
