Dan Patrick: Panthers interested in trading for Sam Darnold
Hoenheim replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
As long as we're not giving up a 3rd or more and not giving him a new contract the sure. Kick the tires for a year and if he doesnt work out cut em. If they want a 1 or a 2 or something I say hell fuging no. -
All-offense draft incoming? Panthers Wire mock!

IDK how many years it will take this organization to get their heads out of the sand and draft some first roudn oline talent -

Christ almighty. You defense nuts are crazy! We spent a whole draft on defense last year and you want to double down on it this year again? Good luck having a 1985 bears Defense with no oline to get all your QBs killed. -

would you ignore oline to upgrade the secondary ? Or do you just have a lot of faith in the injury prone underperforming FAs that we signed and have been signing for the past several years -

I am a huge proponent of getting Oline in two of the first three rounds. We need it. -
Huge fan of trading down if it's netting us multiple seconds and we keep a first rounder. Insane amount of oline and secondary sitting around in the 2nd and 3rd
-
Seemed appropriate considering we've got one month left and 49ers traded up to 3. One is with no trades other is with two lucrative trade downs with the Dolphins and Jags
-
Why would the 49ers trade back down after spending all that draft capital to trade up ? They're just as locked onto that pick as the Jags are at #1 at this point. No one seems to definitively know what the Jets will do but it's a extremely high probability they pick a new QB to go with their new regime. Trading up to two might be just as improbable as trading up to one if the Jets are locked on to a QB. History seems to indicate there's usually at least one highly touted QB that falls in the draft, but that may not be the case this year . I think it highly depends on what Atlanta does. If they don't pick a QB that will open the floodgates for trades for other teams wanting to leap us because they know the Panthers are QB starved. The most realistic senario is the Panthers can't or won't be willing to trade a haul of picks to their division rival falcons to trade up for the 4th best QB. Fiterer will probably sit at 8 and go BPA or trade down . Trading down could land a wealth of picks because a early run on QBs will push top 5 overall players down to 8.
-
None of the teams left above us have any incentive to trade with us. You'll have to pray the draft goes very differently than what 99.999% of people are thinking it will go .
-
Panthers picked a bad year to have a medicore record. This would've been the perfect year to have a historically bad 1-15 season but signing Teddy officially put us in quarterback hell.
-
Should've started him last year and not signed teddy. Best case he shows some promise and we got a decent QB. Worst case would've been a 2010 ish season netting us the first or second pick .
-
He should've started last year after we got rid of cam. What's the worst that could've happened ? Guaranteed top 3 pick probably. Without that abomination of a contract we gave Teddy
-
Ideally there's a early run on QBs and WRs and we end up stealing Sewell. The WORST thing you can do is panic and pick Mac Jones because the top 4 QBs are gone and you feel the need to draft A QB and not THE QB.
-
Everyone's panicking about all the QBs going off the board . People are harping on the fact that we should have pick three if we lost to Washington. But we could have easily won one or two more games and had a mid round pick . The smartest thing to do is not panic and trade away an insane amount of picks for #2 . If there IS a run on qbs early that's going to push alot of other talent back down to us . Just stay at 8 and draft the #1 or #2 OT , #1 CB, #1 TE, #1 LB . I'd pick up Slater or Sewell and just stack up oline first three picks like we did Dline last year. And use the rest of the picks for role players on defense . Or you could just go BPA and probably end up with a pretty nasty defense in 2021 . Get your QB in 2022 or beyond we won't HAVE to get one this year. That's my main point.
-
I'd just go bpa at this point. Too many qb hungry teams way ahead of us or trading up in front of us. This was the perfect year to go 0-16 to 2-14 and the organization fuged that up by signing Teddy. So now they have to stew in their own pile of poo that they made .
-
I'd easily throw a mid rounder at him or scoop him up after the draft if we don't get a QB. Can we just cut Grier and sign Darnold ? Lol
-
Where would he fit in the offense with DJ Robby and CMC? Are you drafting a top 10 pick WR to be a 4th option??? I still stand with going oline . Last year we almost over committed to Dline early and I would love to see the same commitment this year to the oline early. Getting something like Slater in R1 and Eichenburg or Leatherwood in R2 would work wonders for rebuilding the Oline . Then you can go get your safety and CB in the mid rounds . Use some late rounders on Dline and skill position depth . Maybe throw in a flier on some QB with one of those . There you go . Solid solid draft. And if we're too good next year to draft a qb high once again ? Then you can splurg on a top FA qb ala Tom Brady situation and stick him into a roster that's already ready to rock .
-
I wouldn't be trading away any more than this year's and next year's first to trade up (in terms of first round picks). If you're trading away 3 first rounders it better be for Trevor Lawrence and nobody else
-
Not taking into consideration teams that could trade up in front of us

Deshaun Watson has lawsuit filed against him by Tony Buzbee

False accusers need to get punishment as well in my opinion. Even if it's eventually proven that the accused did nothing wrong the whirling poo storm caused by those types of accusations doesn't just poof into non-existence .- 177 replies

Don't jump the gun and judge him for unproven allegations. Just hope the NFL and everyone else actually lets the justice system work before just assuming a dude is guilty. -
He's probably asking for way more than were willing to pay and I don't blame him
-
He really was lucky to get that . He's been injured and/or played poorly for 4 out of the last 5 seasons since 2015 ended (I'm referring to 2017 season ). The fact that he's still starting is pretty incredible. But this is probably his last shot to remain a starting QB. If he puts up another stinker in 2021 hell only get backup offers or retire if he doesn't want to be a backup. To be real he's already had a decent career. He's got a ton of rushing QB records , most of Panthers QB records, a MVP and a 15-1 season. I'm sure he just wants a Super Bowl now he's already made an insane amount of money and keeps making it through a ton of endorsements.

Bellicheat is having an emotional overreaction to Brady winning the Super Bowl with Tampa. Would be crazy If they ended up even worse than last year with all these signings lol. Better hope Cam plays alot better this year because last season it looked like his shoulder was still shot.
