I feel like most people are just being snarky in here and acting like Converting short yardage is an easy task when I've seen the team struggle with it previously. Yes different staff and players but I have some bad memories of cmc getting walled in crucial short yard scenarios. No you don't need a big power back but it helps. Can you really tell me Foreman didn't help in that regard?? Somebody said Tom Brady and qb sneak. Tom Brady is 6 foot 4 come on I just see Bryce always on shotgun all the time in his highlights, and it just made me wonder how we're going to covert goal line situations. I hope that Camerun dude from app state makes the roster and replace Blackshear or Chubba.

I think the patriots drafted a bunch of nobodies the year they got Brady, we did the same with the 2011 draft and Cam. If Bryce is really good that mostly mitigates the whole draft as long as not literally all the other picks are busts
-
Hard to rank them before they play, but I'd say B- We didnt get a CB, didn't prioritize pass rusher in R2, arguably reached on Mingo and DJ. Sort of gambling on Bryce Youngs size generally. After the year is done it could be anywwhre from a C to a A+ depending on how much these players contribute and how successful the team ends up being. With a draft with so few players we don't need them all to be rock stars. If Mingo and Bryce are really good and we get anything out of the other dudes, then it's a pretty good draft . I feel like a lot is riding on how good Mingo ends up being

This was consistently one of the guys I had been picking in mock drafts. He's extremely good and incredible value getting him this late in the draft. I think him and Cade Mays could easily sub in for Corbett and Christensen if they arent 100 percent by game 1. Now we have extremely good depth at OG.

Rucker in 1999 CJ in 2007 Greg Hardy in 2010 Kk Short in 2013 Its been a whole ass DECADE since we drafted a very good pass rusher outside of R1. That was basically my point

When's the last time we drafted a pass rusher after R1 that was actually a good starter?

BJ Ojulari Edge or Drew Sanders LB

I'll gladly take Ojulari or Sanders . Don't want a DB this early

Joe Person: Dave Tepper tipped Panthers next pick
Hoenheim replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Mayer will be long gone by 39 you are kidding yourself. BJ too most likely. I think the pick will be a CB- 41 replies

I'm really suprised they didn't trade up with all the talent that fell from 20 to 31 The board is a lot more barren now after that late run. Best available for me now are probably BJ Ojulari, Michael Mayer, Jonathan Mingo/Jalen Hyatt, Steve Avila/Ocyrus Torrence, Drew Sanders I'd personally roll with BJ, Mayer will be gone quick. Panthers could very easily get a OG or a CB purely on injury concerns at those positions. I think not trading up for any WRs showed they're not particularly worried about drafting one high. I think they trust the dudes they picked up in free agency and the 2nd round pick is most likely to be defensive

Round 1 - The Carolina Panthers Select Bryce Young - QB - Alabama
Hoenheim replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Let's get behind this dude and support him -
So Bryce and CJ went 1 and 2. They will forever be compared to each other, hopefully we picked the right guy.

Last two mocks before the draft

I'm laughing at it not freaking out

Colin Cowherd high low QB comparisons. Bryce Young low is Jonny Manziel, High is Tua (how the fug is Tua a high )

I'm trying to mentally prepare myself to accept Bryce. Picking such a tiny QB just makes me nervous. Not doubting his skill or intelligence I just hope he can stay healthy. The only pick I'd truly be upset with is Will Levis. I'd love Stroud, I'm okay/fine with Bryce or AR. But it really should not be Levis for any reason.

I'm truly curious to what the Texans do might dictate the rest of the draft
