    This Ealy stuff is getting a bit ridiculous. He had a very unspectacular season as a rookie, which we all expected. Now, one preseason game into 2015, and people are calling him a bust. Things aren't looking good, but let's give him some time.

    Maybe I saw it wrong, but it looked like Artis-Payne popped Byndom when Byndom wasn't expecting it. Afterwards it appeared Marcus Ball went up to Artis-Payne and gave him a light "retaliation" hit on behalf of his fellow DB. Either way, good to see Artis-Payne is coming on.

    Rivera is one of the brightest defensive minds in the game today, so we're fortunate on that front. And yes, McDermott has done a good job as well. Even in 2011 our defense did a respectable job all things considered. The concern, as others have already touched on, is the other side of the ball.

    Anybody have Gano's stats on 30-35 yard FGs? Probably not much different from his XP conversion rate. Don't think this changes a whole lot. EDIT: Since coming to Carolina he's 19/21 from 30-39 yards. I'm assuming those misses were in the higher portion of that range, but can't recall off the top of my head.

    Agreed. And he's young too. I'm sure JR puts more stock into the opinions of guys who've been around for awhile (TD, etc.).

    Luke Kuechly and Greg Olsen have to at least be on the list of candidates, but certainly lower down than others who have been mentioned.
