    making predictions like "we win on a long field goal" or "brian burns gets 2.5 sacks" for a game months away is literally worthless and i don't know why people try to include minutia in predictions instead of mapping seasonal personnel trends against matchups, which is totally valid and far more interesting.

    what's their pass pro like? seems like the obvious question. i'm not a fan of the "let the defense carry the game" mentality but that's a no-brainer here if you're trying to ease darnold into quarterbacking. getting him a competent W against the team that previously defined him is imperative mentally.

    i'll take it. for years we've complained about how it always feels receivers are already being strangled by the time they get the ball in their hands - it's nice to see guys consistently running free after the catch. this is probably a combination of competent receivers, good ball placement, and a coaching staff whose philosophy isn't eXeCuTiOn
