It's really not all that dumb if ya plan on keeping lamelo. Lamelo is already bad at defending and ya gonna put a 6-2 player at sg next to him??? Ehhhhhh.... Plus shot selection / shot iq questions plus shooting questions in general. yea he's athletic but he didn't exactly set the world on fire in the g league. Let's draft the athletes and hope we can get them a jump shot... Usually doesn't work out well in the NBA. With that said if you have Scoot rated higher you take him and hope lamelo learns defense and scoot can play with out the ball the majority of the time. Cause on the Hornets he won't be ball dominant. If he tries to be, it will create problems and he won't see the floor. If they are rated similar than you take Miller because of fit.

Plus what you can get for rozier.
-
Read what I said again and the stats..

I think scoot ends up as a poor man Russell Westbrook, but a better team mate and team player. Thinking 20-27ppg, 6 rpg, 7 Apg, 2 stl. While Miller ends up being a 20-27 ppg, 7rpg, 4apg, 2 stl, 1blk per game high tier 3 and d guy. I say poor man because he's not quite as good all around as Westbrook was in his prime. Which works if you want to keep Melo? Cause Melo is going to naturally have the ball in his hands 75% of the time.... I kinda want them to draft Scoot because I think it will be a disaster defensively and piss Clifford off so much.
-
If they took that deal though, they would have to move rozier... which I don't think would be hard.
-
I would so take that deal. Getting Simons, Miller and someone like Bilal Coulibaly. That'd be nice and set the team up for the future.
-
If it's zion and not Ingram, gotta get the 14th plus two or three other firsts back. That's how much zion trade value has fallen. Hayward and the 2nd for the 14th, 2025, 2026, and 2027 first rounders and Zion
-
Hornets want Ingram over Zion, and last I heard was NO wasn't interested in moving Ingram.
-
I'll add this here, now that Phoenix is getting Beal. They want to trade Ayton, might be able to trade Hayward and Martin for him. (They want role players and such for him)
-
Miller had mono and hasn't worked out a lot since April when he got it, so his workout was sub a bit. Scoot impressed especially with his shooting. Shot selection is still a huge question mark but his work ethic makes him a less gamble then most other prospects with his ? marks. I think the team is now seriously considering Scoot but still think Miller is the pick as of right now.

PJ is restricted, so do you think Kuzma (realistic target for mle or similar) is that much better than PJ. Could renounce PJ, clear his cap hold, then sign Kuzma with that money than go get Seth with the mle. So got Ball, Rozier, Bridges, Kuzma, Williams Scoot, Curry, Oubre, Jones, Richards Plus two late draft picks on top of that. Thats ten deep and at least 6th to 8th seed in the east if healthy.
-
Definitely possible to add some mid tier guys, someone like Seth Curry or Kuzma for the mle (kuzma likely takes more, but an example) and add another player on top of that.
-
Rozier is here in 24. He's the only major player signed for that season. Ball, Rozier, Bridges, Hayward, Williams Scoot, GG, Oubre, PJ, richards Plus another early 2nd rounder. During 23-24. Then Hayward falls off, Rozier becomes tradable. Oubre falls off. Roster going forward is Ball, Scoot, Bridges, ?, Williams. Legit best chance charlotte has. Derozan or anyone of his caliber isn't coming here via free agency. trading Melo would immediately impact the bottom dollar for the new owners, so that isn't happening. Especially for draft picks in either of the next two drafts which are extremely weak.
-
Without Hayward and counting Ball at 32m, the hornets would have around 40-42m for signings in 2024.
-
Scoot apparently impressed the team quite a bit, why Jordan wants to meet them both.
-
Demar DeRozan would be the biggest free agent signing in Hornets history. Unless someone wants to play with Melo...the hornets aren't getting big time NBA free agents. That's why currently the biggest signings franchise wise are AL Jefferson and Gordan Hayward. Ya don't get rid of Melo unless he doesn't want to stay and you can get two first round picks for him in say 26/27. Right now, he wants to re-sign with the Hornets.
-
Melo is currently the best superstar potential player charlotte has a shot at.
-
Daniel Sundheim is who I was talking about and he's the money behind the new group.
-
Those two already owned part of the team, why they were talked to first and are backed by a billionaire. (Mentioned him when the possible sale first broke news months ago
-
MKG was ranked 2nd or 3rd on every draft board site right before the draft. Ehhhhh hindsight sure, but at the moment wasn't a reach.
-
What would yall think of this draft? Miller at 2 Brice Sensabaugh at 27 GG Jackson at 30 with a trade up ???
-
Seem gg going to that pick quite a lot recently in mocks, pretty good chance he falls into the late 20's.
-
Anyone else playing? I've played probably 140 hours so far. Lol
-
Rumors coming out that Charlotte turned it down already.
-
It would have to be Hayward who's expiring contract is worth quite a bit to a team looking to push and get rid of a seldom healthy player on a huge multi year deal. That's why it would look like Hayward and 2 for Zion, 14 and a future first. Charlotte is taking a huge gamble with that trade, way more so than New Orleans
