Actually I do, they ran this same action a few times during the game from a few different formations. One of the other times was from a two te set, JT cross formation outside block. Another reason I know that’s his assignment is it’s based off play action and one of the run play equivalents for that action from this formation is weak counter, where the TE goes across formation and seals the edge player. the LT is supposed to kick in and let the edge player get chipped by the wr who’s going on a delayed check down route. The TE coming across picks that player up. The line should be moving left to right.

That’s not how line play works, you have your assignment and you execute that assignment and expect the players around you to do the same. You try to do too much and you make more mistakes. And no the run play has him going to the outside to crack the DE allowing the other linemen to slide blocking over towards the run direction. he 100% did what he was supposed to do and that sack isn’t on him at all. It’s on icky who made a mental mistake. “Which has been very common so far”

JT did what he was supposed to do on this play. Cross the line and take the outside edge. It’s a cross line block and that’s his assignment… not the free rusher that Icky missed. It’s supposed to look like the run with the same motion. On the run play the TE goes to the outside. This was not on JT at all… it’s on Icky. with line play, you do your assignment as the play is drawn up and rely on your team mates to do the same.

No that’s his assignment… the issue here is that someone else missed their assignment.

Your Udpated Record Predictions with Dalton at QB?
carpanfan96 replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
I had 0 wins with Bryce at qb… now I’ll say 5 wins. -
Almost 400 yards of offense and 27 points through 3 quarters…. no way Young can see the field again… you’ve got to get a backup from somewhere. Then cut him in the offseason

Even with a crappy call and going backwards, still got points. Haven’t seen that since prime cam days. Kinda nice actually -
The panthers actually have an offense and can get yards and score points with a qb that can throw the ball more than 10 yards. Oline still needs work but it looks hella better without happy feet behind the line

Let’s not forget the asked for a trade rumor.

256 yards and 21 points at halftime… might be in the top 5 for points and yards in a whole game over the last two years. Dunno if should cry or laugh or both. -

He’s done as a Panther… he’s asked for a trade. He is 100% done after this season. -

Albert Breer in SI: Benching Bryce Young Was Not a Rash Decision
carpanfan96 replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bryce took a lot of unnecessary sacks at Bama too, I brought this up during the draft lead up. He had three major flaws to me. Size, arm strength, and happy feet in the pocket. Happy feet still hasn’t been fixed, don’t think it can be. -
Poll: Has Bryce Played His Last Snap as a Panther?
carpanfan96 replied to Captroop's topic in Carolina Panthers
You clearly have to cut him and move on. -
My issues with Bryce go back to his college tape. He had happy feet then and led all draft eligible qb’s in an at fault sacks. His size and arm strength… I had him as my third rated qb and rated similar to Levis. I didn’t like him as a prospect and his nfl tape shows the same issues that his college tape shows.
-
I think I’ll watch my first full game in a long time now.
-
Let’s put it this way…. he’s dead last in yards per drop back since 2011….out of 431 quarterbacks….he’s dead last in yards per drop back. or we can go further than that if you’d like to, he’s the worst qb in modern NFL history and the stats actually back that up. he should’ve never been drafted first, all his problems showed up on tape to me when watching and I said as much during the offseason leading up to that draft.
-
The problem was BY and David Tepper… David Tepper will continue to be a problem and it’s why I’ve completely stopped watching the NFL.
-
My problem is that his biggest weakness that “he can improve” his pocket awareness and footwork is still as horrible as it was in college and it hasn’t gotten better in two college seasons and one professional season plus an offseason… it’s still god awful… if that doesn’t improve… he doesn’t improve and you can’t really fix that mid season.

1.80 too much. They need to start paying fans to show up and not charging.

About those big money Guards Morgan spent on….
carpanfan96 replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
The way he gets happy feet and moves in the pocket as always been an issue for him… I can’t believe it wasn’t really in scouting reports -
Don’t think yall realize how important it was to have someone else on the line getting doubled 20% of plays. :shrugs:
-
Oh I know, I mentioned this and happy feet and taking sacks at a high rate that he was responsible for were major issues and he was my 3rd rated qb in that draft class. Had him behind AR and Stroud and about on the same level as Levis.
-
He was like that in college too, they had so much more talent compared to other teams it didn’t matter much.
