Yep we know pretty much that he refused to negotiate with Nashville. There was one other that was rumored and same thing, refused to negotiate. from what I understand his agent is asking if he’s going to be playing top line and is looking for 7m a year.
-
Was talking about Necas going to Arbitration. Jarvis expected deal is around 6.75x7 unless they do a bridge deal for like 2X5 or so. so if Jarvis signs his expected deal that leaves around 4m for Drury and Necas.
-
If the arbitration is anything over 3m aav then something needs to happen with Jarvis and his contract or one of KK or Kuz needs to be moved. Jarvis is going to be around 6-7m aav unless they do a short bridge deal.
-
I just want Necas gone, he already has killed at least two trades by not wanting to sign extensions with the team he was being traded to. One with Nashville for the fourth pick. he obviously doesn’t want to be here and only wants to go somewhere where he’s going to be the top line center.
-
If they resign Jarvy, they have less than 4m in cap based on reports. They wouldn’t have enough to sign Necas, Drury, and Coghlan. so they have to do something with KK or Kuz. if they just sign Jarvis and Drury, think they have 2.75m in cap space. hence my comment that they are done pending one of those to be moved.

Call me crazy, but we might have improved the pass rush after all

Pass attempts is not the same as pass rush snaps. wonnum was one of 51 players with 300 pass rush snaps. His pass rush pressure rating was 43rd out 51, his win rate was last. He’s one of the most inefficient pass rushers in the nfl. Burns according to advanced stats on ESPN had 189 pass rush snaps and was doubled on 14% of them. but let’s not compared Wonnum to Burns, that’s not fair to wonnum. compare him to YGM. YGM - higher pressure rate, better win rate, better run defender. For those PFF people, higher overall grade. so yeah…. -
Pretty sure we are done unless they do something with Necas, KK or Kuz
-
Missed one earlier and it was 1 year deal for Eric Robinson for 950k
-
That is the current top 23 of the team counting the new contracts via cap friendly. they’ve spent 6.7m on forwards. they’ve spent 9.8m on defensemen. They had 27m cap to start before they resigned Chatty. They spent around 16.5m and have 10.2m in space.

All the deals so faR for free agents william carrier 5 years 2m aav Sean walker 5 years 3.6m aav Ghost 3 years 3.2m aav Tyson jost 1 year league minimum After adding Martinook deal team has around 10m cap space. Jarvy will take around 6 of that.
-
Walker and Ghost are canes. They’ve signed Walker already and Ghost deal is being finalized now. pairings are now Slavin:Burns Orlov:Chatfield Walker:Gostisbehere
-
Gostisbehere Is back on a 3 year 3.2m aav deal.
-
Pesce left for 500k extra a year after turning down the hurricanes last offseason on a 5m aav deal.
-
It was always going to be a rough day for the teams own free agents, they couldn’t afford to keep them.
-
Pesce will go to NJ. Turbo will not likely to be back and is hitting free agency.
-
Necas is gone, unless they are going to put him on the second line at center.

Lot of fallacy going by snap count when the panthers defense had the fewest number of pass rush snaps. It’s why wonnum was nearly dead last in efficiency stats last season. He got his numbers on triple the pass rush attempts than Burns did. -
Looks like Guentzel is gone and will sign with Tampa for the offer the canes gave him minus the extra year
-
They’ve freed up enough cap space for him. Guentzel’s agent is also a Tampa fan. Lol
-
If it makes it to Monday, he’s signing with Tampa because of his agent playing games
-
Yep, they need to fill the coasters again.
-
Think it’s slightly north of 8m AAV but not by much. leaves 14-15m in cap space and 7 roster spots to fill. If they sign Jarvy to his expected deal. Then 7m space for 6 roster spots. Turbo, Pesce, Sjkei, Necas, Martinook, Noesen.
-
A top 3-4 pick next draft will probably get the team a superstar. Top of that draft is currently loaded.
-
They are bringing him over for sure. He averaged over 13 last part of the season and playoffs in a professional league. His defense will stick immediately and they have an open spot for him on the roster.
