  1. Because he is asking to be paid like a top edge rusher and word is that he wants 28-30m a season.
  2. Goff is gonna get around 37-40m a season from the Lions.
  3. Really, really want to get this game but can't right now.
  4. Quite a lot, might be part of the holdup. But tons of contracts have ltbe and nltbe incentives in them. You can also do option bonus as part of an Escalating contract.
  5. Oh they won't pay 30m, he'll get something around 25-27m a season and have a high guarantee amount above what Garret and Watt got.
  6. The Panthers think he's worth 23-24m a season. That's what they came at him with and well he didn't say yes.. let's say that.
  7. Look at the athletic article thread, been trying to tell everyone he was asking for Bosa level money.
  8. I told yall he wanted Nick Bosa money and that's why a deal wasn't done yet.
  9. I'll try to find it again later this evening after my nap. I just got out of the hospital Sunday morning at 4am. I'm a bit tired and all I did was drive to the gas station and the grocery store for pickup.
  10. Burns had 53 qb pressures compared to Highsmith with 32. 20 less.
  11. Chubb is getting 22m a year and Burns is gonna get more than that. He's gonna be closer to Garret and Bosa than to Chubb. No other way about it.
  12. Blame chubb for getting 22m from Miami.
  13. Like I said earlier this off-season, it's going to take at least 27m a season to sign him long term. Once Nick Bosa signs that number is gonna go up to 29-30m because Bosa wants 34-35m a season.
  14. I stated stats earlier to support paying burns. Even if you use last season. Highsmith had more sacks and ff but burns had more qb pressures, more qb hurries, the same amount of tackles, and more tfl. Burns was top ten in sacks, tackles, tackles for loss, top 5 in qb hurries and qb pressures last season among edge defenders.
  15. Because when he was traded, the Panthers still owed him guaranteed money. It was after July 1st, so part hit last year and the rest hits this year.
  16. Two different conversations that started at different times. Highsmith has one year of high production and thats why the Steelers got a steal on his deal.
  17. Oh to add for someone who said that Burns hasn't said anything publicly... he did back in June. He has publicly stated that he expects to be one of the highest paid edge rushers in the NFL. So yea, Myles Garret, Nick Bosa money is what he wants. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/37848340/panthers-brian-burns-wants-highest-paid-edge-rushers
  18. No it isn't cherry picking, I simply posted his stats from the most recent season. Which is a better indicator of his future production compared to a 7.5 sack rookie season where he played 43% of snaps. Last season he played 87% of snaps.
  19. Nope picked a random number, coulda made it 6 and it woulda been 4 in 4 vs 2 in 3. Doesn't matter. Lol Burns also effects the qb way more with pressures and hurries.
  20. Not top top ten in run stop win rate, run stuffs. Has nothing to do with win rate. Burns gets a lot of TFL which translates to run stuffs. Runs stop at 0 yards gained or less.
  21. Didn't say that was for all 4 years. That was last season stats. He was behind Parsons, Garrett and Bosa in QB pressures and hurries last season. Just those 3 and 8th in sacks. In 2021 he had 48 hurries and 37 pressures with 9 sacks.
  22. 1 year of production (7+ sacks) over 3 years as a pro vs 4 years in 4 years , Highsmith is an older player, has way less pressures and qb hits since being drafted compared to Burns in the same time period.
  23. 8th in sacks, 3rd in pressures, top 10 in run stuffs. Top ten in tackles among edge players. Moving to a position that fits his build and play style even more...
