  1. Nah we are saying he has an average NFL qb arm. The others are saying it's above average or better. Well I'm saying it's average. Lol
  2. For added reference Anthony Richardson hit 60 mph at the Combine. CJ Stroud hit 59 mph at the combine.
  3. I don't think some get what's being said here. The average NFL qb can throw a football 50 yards and at speeds of around 40 mph. Which is the arm strength that Bryce has. Top end arm strength in the NFL is 50-60 mph. One qb has thrown faster than 60 mph at the combine, DTR at 62. Just to put that in reference for everyone. Most top out around 57-60 mph. Cousins and Kapernick are at the high end of that mark hitting 59-60 mph. Watson was 45mph, included for reference point as well. it's ok that Bryce has an average arm... nothing wrong with that at all.
  4. There's a baseball scale that some use for arm strength. 80-20 scale. Mahomes and the other elite arm QB's are a 70 or higher on the scale. Bryce Young's is measured between 40-50 on this scale. Just to give some reference on his functional arm strength.
  5. https://www.profootballnetwork.com/bryce-young-qb-alabama-nfl-draft-scouting-report-2023/ https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10067920-nfl-coach-bryce-youngs-arm-unimpressive-compared-to-richardson-stroud-levis https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/nfl-combine-2023-analyzing-bryce-youngs-historically-slight-frame-and-whether-teams-should-be-concerned/ https://www.nfl.com/prospects/bryce-young/3200594f-5512-4763-ab24-c1bd051ef0ef "Deep throws come out flat and lose energy late. The deep ball is nothing special and his drive velocity fails to stand out, but he has enough arm strength to make the necessary throws." I can keep going. Nothing revisionist here, just simply pointing out one of his weaknesses were his deep ball and arm velocity. It's literally listed as a weakness on each of these links.
  6. I'm not trying to take a shot at Bryce but I think it's clear that the coaching staff didn't want him. The offense isn't tailored for his skill set at all. It's more tailored for AR or Stroud then it is Young. I've admitted that the play calling when Young is playing has been awful but is that the coaching staff or limitations of Young that the team is covering up. His biggest + minus the field vision was his creativity and so far in the NFL that's actually not worked all that well so far. I know it's 3 games but there's some serious red flags with the team for one reason or another.
  7. It's a known fact that Young doesn't have good arm strength. [It was one of his knocks] just adequate arm strength. While it's also a known fact that Fields has one of the strongest arms in the NFL. Come on now, we can be realistic here.
  8. You might be right, I'm still of the belief that he didn't want Young in the draft. Still trying to figure out if it was Tepper that over ruled him and Fitt or if it was Fitt and tepper that did it.
  9. No the throw itself. Young couldn't make them. Field has a cannon and barely completed the two to Moore. Young throws those passes and they are picked off.
  10. Yea but there's at least 4 throws that fields made tonight with 2 to Moore that Young simply can't make at all. Like no chance in heck he even attempts them.
  11. Dalton got hit 10 times against the Seahawks and threw for 364 yards. The team doesn't trust him to run its real offense, it's why the route combinations are different for Young compared to Dalton.
  12. I think Reich is doing it on purpose. It increases my entertainment value at least. Lol I honestly don't think Young can run the offense the way Reich and Brown want it ran. They told Tepper and they still got the QB they didn't want.
  13. It was coulda traded to #3, kept one of the picks and DJ Moore and still got AR.
  14. The team doesn't think he can.. why they changed route combinations for him compared to the normal offense. Normal offense would have similar route combinations that the team used in Seattle. It's so blatantly obvious that Steve Smith said the team has an issue because of it after the Seattle game.
  15. Got a qb that the team is going to have to dink and dunk down the field with. Going to be 3 or 4 more years of this.
  16. I was expecting fields to play like he had been with the high rushing numbers, just more consistent passing when I did my draft. So I'll gladly take 4 passing td games after the first three weeks.
  17. I still have McCaffrey, gibbs, lamb and AJ brown to go for my position players. Lol
  18. 97.2 points with 3 players is frigging nice.
  19. Got fields and Moore. Tonight was nice. First two weeks were rough but I'll take this.
  20. Wouldn't that make Nicole the owner????.... ehhhhh can they just retire to an island and leave football people in charge to make football decisions.
  21. Yep, if im dline coach on an opposing team, I'm telling my players to reach out and grab jersey if they can't get to him. Most can pull him down with an arm.
  22. Yea he was 204 at the combine but he looked like he had a ton of water weight. There's solid reports from people close to Bama that at one point last season he was playing under 180.
  23. I believe the reports he played between 175-185 100%.
  24. Yea it's bad. Go watch the all 22 if you can. I just rewatched the game after listening to Steve talk about it and yea... the difference is night and day. It's quite insane actually. It looks like they don't trust Bryce to throw deep or much of anything else gameplan wise. That only changes once they absolutely have to get yards.
