  1. Them not being high on Slater playing tackle and overpaying Elf and Erving on the first day of free agency might prove they aren't the best at judging Oline talent. Tremble, Marshall, and Chuba vs whoever else they could possibly have drafted is one of those things that will take at least a season or more to determine. They're all just rookies getting ready to play their 5th games after all. And yeah, they can't rebuild the team in 2 years. They still could have broke ranks from what the previous regime did and put some cheap, young talent in the Oline instead of so much on the defense. They just have different priorities.
  2. Pointing out what one of the worst teams in the NFL, who just so happens to be on their second top five QB pick within five years, is doing doesn't help your argument. Darnold coming here and finding more success should prove that.
  3. Source. Three tackles and a guard taken in round 1. Three centers, four tackles, and a guard in round 2. A center, three guards, and two tackles were taken after BC. There were plenty of guys available outside of Leatherwood. They had several opportunities to select more Oline help. They just decided not to. Hopefully they spend most of next year's draft on the Oline. Well, what picks the team has left that is.
  4. Olinemen don't get the stats and media hype that Dlinemen do. They also don't generally get paid as much. So, the most promising youngsters play defense instead. By making the Oline more important on their network/media, and paying those guys more, the NFL could reverse that perception.
  5. Maybe they should have hedged their bets and took some early round Oline talent during the draft instead of trading back so much.
  6. Eh, to borrow an old saying, don't count your chickens before they hatch. If Christensen was better than Erving, he would have already had the job. I hope he is better, but it's possible he could be worse.
  7. If that's what you want to believe, then so be it. I believe in giving guys a whole season playing before declaring them a boom or bust. As the old saying goes, the proof is in the pudding. And not all great college players make great pros no matter their athleticism or ability.
  8. It's way too early to be making this kind of statement. Horn played three games where he faced two rookies making their first starts and a guy people consider a reclamation project at best. Yeah, Horn is a promising rookie, but that is all he is at this time.
  9. And all we know about those two are that the coaches don't think they are ready to play right now. They might be good, they might be just ok, or they might be bad. We'll just have to wait until they see the field to know.
  10. Yep. It's only year two of the rebuild. The line sucks and it'll probably be next offseason when it gets fixed.
  11. Until the Oline gets Darnold put on injured reserve. Then it'll be the sky is falling.
  12. That should say something about trade and bubble gum instead of kicking ass
  13. My thoughts are along the same line. Preseason was the time to see if the rookies could play against NFL starters, not week 5 if you're a head coach.
  14. Probably. He is a willing passer, which will help with Miles and others cutting to the basket.

  16. Not a bad showing so far. Miles and LaMelo are doing what they do so far.
  17. He is becoming 1B to CMC's 1A and has improved every year. If the Panthers don't pay him, then it'll be a huge mistake.
  18. The announcers talked about that in the first half. Olsen said Henderson only knew the basic plays since he's only been a Panther for a week.
  19. One thing I really like about Darnold is he acts like he has scored before. No outlandish celebrations or anything like that. Just a little celebration with his teammates and hands the ball back to the refs.
