Yep.
-
It's looking that way
-
Rozier has not been good this game
-
If the Hornets want to take that next step, they have to stop having games like this, especially when not playing an elite team.
-
Terrible defensive half. If the Cavs hadn't started missing shots, the score would be a lot worse.
-
Not a fan of the ref closeups for foul calls and reviews.
-
The Hornets have gone ice cold
-
I'd rather watch a raw Kai flaying around like a baby Biz than another minute of Plumlee.
-
I love the fight the lads have, but they need to stop getting down so early in games.
-
The Hornets keep getting hosed by the refs
-
Yikes. Gave up 40 to the Cavs in the first quarter
-
Bad effort and play. Every time the Hornets get some good press they poo the bed.
-
Sadly, that's not true. Still, give Richards Plumlee's minutes and play PJ more at the 5.
-
Sloppy to start
-
Was that A shaqtin moment on that dunk or what??
-
Maybe he needs to hire a winning advisor then.

Trade Deadline is Tomorrow, Who do we buy, who do we sell?
jayboogieman replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
No GM would give the Panthers a first for an injured and overpaid RB that has only played in 6 games since signing a $64 million extension. And I say he is overpaid since he can't stay on the field. -
We'll just have to disagree then. Nothing Tepper has done so far shows me that he cares about winning. From keeping Ron and Hurney too long to "fixing" the business side first to hiring a second tier college coach, it all screams bottom line more than winning.

I haven't kept up with Fields, that's why I said if he has a fairly good season
-
Normally I would agree with you about the home state thing, but I do think the UNC crowd will come to BOA for Howell. I think Tepper will care about that, especially if this season continues to suck and the fans stop coming.

ESPN: 13. Charlotte Hornets 2021-22 record: 5-2 Previous ranking: 14 Charlotte got a nice lift from LaMelo Ball and Kelly Oubre Jr. during Sunday's win over the Trail Blazers to finish the week at 2-2. The pair combined for 53 points for a team that loves getting up and down the court. The Hornets have an intriguing matchup on Wednesday against Curry and the Warriors, as Oubre gets to see his old teammates for the first time. Ball also gets to remind Golden State what might have been if it had selected him -- not 2020 No. 2 overall pick James Wiseman. -- Friedell SI: 8. Charlotte Hornets Current record: 5–2 Previous ranking: 4 Even if Miles Bridges is only 75% as good as he’s been during Charlotte’s first six games, he will likely run away with the Most Improved Player award. Bridges’s 25.5 points a night are more than double what he averaged in 2021. Betting on himself ahead of restricted free agency appeared to be a smart choice. NBA.com: 11 Last Week: 12 ↑ Charlotte Hornets Record: 5-2 Pace: 102.2 (8) OffRtg: 114.6 (2) DefRtg: 110.9 (27) NetRtg: +3.8 (7) The Hornets’ game against Portland on Sunday was the first of their seven that they didn’t trail by double-digits. But they were down seven at the half before outscoring the Blazers, 72-53, over the final 24 minutes. Through Week 2, Charlotte has been outscored by 14.2 points per 100 possessions (the league’s third worst mark) in the first half of games, but is a +25.6 (the league’s best mark by a healthy margin) in the second half. And that’s with LaMelo Ball having shot much better before halftime (effective field goal percentage of 60.7%) than he has after it (39.3%). Gordon Hayward (4-for-4 from 3 after halftime in Miami on Friday), Cody Martin and P.J. Washington (6-for-6 in the second half on Sunday) have all shot better after the break, and the much bigger difference has been on defense, where the Hornets have been absolutely brutal (120.4 points allowed per 100 possessions) before halftime. The Hornets rank as both the league’s best third-quarter team (+27.8 points per 100 possessions) and its best fourth-quarter team (+23.3). One of the other two teams that ranks in the top six in both quarters is the Warriors (fourth and sixth), who the Hornets will visit on Wednesday, the start of a five-game trip. Week 3: vs. CLE, @ GSW, @ SAC, @ LAC

Ringer Article: Beyond Your Wildest Dreams
jayboogieman replied to bLACKpANTHER's topic in Charlotte Hornets
Pretty nice article. I don't think they'll hit that defensive goal. But they could very well make a run in the playoffs. Loved all the teambuilding and chemistry talk This explains why there isn't a lot of cuts and player movement even though the ball does move. Don't blame the euro coach for not liking those dumb three point shots. They're a mistake more often than not. And that isn't the best attitude LaMelo has about it either. -
I'm not sure if Howell can be a day one starter or not. Odds are if he's drafted, we'll find out the hard way though. If it's true that Tepper wanted Fields and if Fields has a fairly good season, I think we'll see Tepper add a lot of pressure to draft a QB and the home state kid makes a lot of business sense even if he doesn't end up good at all. I think Tepper, like JR before him, cares more about his bottom line more than putting a winning team on the field. And Howell is an easy sell to a sizable part of the NC population.
-
I think you're pretty spot on here. There is some potential in the rookies, but also some meh. If they don't land Watson, I think they go all in on Howell in the draft instead of trading down or going Oline in the first. There will be pressure to improve the QB position again and Tepper will be able to sell a lot of overpriced tickets, merch, and beer to UNC homers.

Let it go Doc and stop living in the past. Handling Cam the way they did was a mistake. Most players don't get to ride off into the sunset and play on one team their whole careers like the Bus did. It's past time to move on. If you could get Rhule to be honest, even he probably doesn't think PJ is NFL material.
