  1. You're right about Watson being talented and giving up picks and players will leave the team spinning its wheels. Washington traded three firsts years ago to take a QB. Houston is going to want at least that in picks and then whatever else they can get.
  2. Watson to Atlanta does make some sense. Houston would probably end up with Ryan as a bridge or stopgap, a top five pick this year to take a young QB or other top talent, other picks and players as well. Watson would then go home to Georgia and be the hometown hero. Atlanta gets to reload with a top young QB on a long term contract and sell a ton of jerseys and other merch. If that was to happen, this place would have a meltdown of epic proportions.
  3. If the guy is sitting a year to learn, he is wasting a year of that valuable five year rookie contract since he isn't out there playing. The only way I would trade up in the draft is if I'm 100% sold on the guy being a day one starter. Otherwise, I trade back or take whoever is available where I'm at, especially in a draft like this that is supposed to be deep for the Oline.
  4. Are you sure this isn't a smoke screen? It is that time of year where in the past everybody said never to trust what teams say. If it's not a smoke screen, it leads me to believe Tepper and the FO are not as smart as they want people to think.
  5. Why? You're giving up draft capital and having to pay him more when he'll just sit at least a year. That makes no sense when you can keep your picks, not pay him more to sit, and roll with one of the three on the roster while improving other positions of the team. Draft a QB next year. They did say this was a five year rebuild. There is no need to rush and draft a QB when the team isn't ready to compete for a title yet.
  6. I don't like that Monk's growing up just happened to have occurred in a contract year. Monk reminds me a little of Tyrus Thomas in the contract year play. I don't think the Hornets will make the same mistake twice because Monk will probably be looking to leave the team anyway, if for no other reason, than a chance to start. He won't get that as a Hornet as long as Terry, Devonte, and Melo are playing in Charlotte.
  7. Keep him. Odds are Monk will be playing elsewhere next season since JB and Cliff had jerked him around so much before this season. Plus, JB seems to love the guy, which means Graham will be getting a lot of minutes once he returns from injury.
