After I typed that previous comment they settled nicely.
-
The guys are pressing too much, especially Ball.
-
I was never interested because the price would have been too high. Even less interested now and don't care if he settles or not.

As I stated earlier, Bridges is on another level since Hayward went down with the foot injury. I wonder if Mitch is regretting signing him to that big contract now. If Miles could have been playing like this the whole time it makes Hayward an expensive luxury at best. Miles has played mostly well all season, but not like he has since he cracked the starting lineup. He is probably the best player on the team currently. Miles is at least playing like he is the best anyway. I have the feeling Devonte will get a contract before Monk. He is a local kid and more consistent player. PJ is still figuring things out. Miles didn't look much better last year. I've never been impressed with Monk. He has always reminded me of Bobcats era Ben Gordon, way too streaky. Let some other team have him. Yeah, Rozier seems out of it. Dude needs some rest. I don't remember seeing anything about Ball getting hurt. He was rotating his wrist a lot on the sidelines though. Graham was also balling out, so it didn't make sense to pull him in favor of Melo.

The end of regulation and OT took a Bobcats style turn.
-
Then he finally makes two in a row.
-
That was a pretty loud F Bomb. Not Kemba loud, but loud enough.
-
They've made the comeback and taken the lead. Bridges might be the current best player on the team. Since he took over for Hayward, he's been on another level.
-
He will still have Pitts to play with for the few years even if Julio is gone.
-
I think they are just being cautious. The Hornets at most would win a few games in the playoffs this year even at full health. Better center play with a fully healthy team next year should be able to get into the second round of the playoffs at least.

Yeah, I'm sure some of it is coming from the leagues themselves. Then there are true missed or bad calls in the heat of the moment. And sometimes even the refs are just fans of certain players or teams. They're human too. The NBA and NFL really do seem to be big on their storylines these days. When I want a lot of storylines with my sports I'll watch wrestling. I knew the Panthers wouldn't win that superbowl. The NFL wanted Manning to ride off into the sunset a champion too badly.

I agree that it is a problem, but I do see the other side of the coin. It sort of makes sense to make rookies see that the refs will not bail them out and that they shouldn't look for the foul call all the time. But, these guys have grown up watching most of these same officials call a foul if someone breathes wrong on Lebron, so I see why they think they deserve the same treatment. It should be easy to call games fairly,, but it seems the refs in all sports have a hard time doing so.
-
The NBA refs are blatantly partial to the big market teams and star players. Another problem is the refs not calling fouls for rookies. I remember watching a game a couple of years back and Dell said whatever rookie they were talking about wouldn't get the foul call because he hadn't earned the refs' respect yet, but he would get that call in the future.

Miles is in the NBA's COVID protocol. How much time he misses is up to that process.

Draft Analysis: "A massive value-destroying error"?
jayboogieman replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree that the FO should care what Tepper thinks of the picks since he can fire them. I don't think the leash gets any shorter if Fields does well and Darnold doesn't. If the team is still looking for a QB in 2 or 3 years, then yeah, it'll be a different story. -

Then the season ends up whatever it ends up. Rhule and Fitt then try again next year. -
Even less you can do when the refs are calling the game against you.
-
When Rhondo starts hitting 3s, there just isn't much you can do.
-
Ball needs 3 more assists for the double double.

Draft Analysis: "A massive value-destroying error"?

The Panthers still had other options besides Teddy and the top prospects. They could have easily taken Mond, Trask, or any of the other QBs in the draft. So Sam is a franchise QB? -
Guess the refs have it in for the Hornets tonight too.

With Teddy or without Teddy, they still could have drafted a QB or signed a free agent QB. There were options. I had edited my post after I saw your reply to MrScot. You should have just said franchise QB instead of the next Cam if that is what you meant. -
Decent half. Hopefully they can keep it up in the second half.

I agree that they didn't handle Cam or Teddy well. That said, they were not forced to trade for Sam. There were more than five QBs in the draft, plus free agent QBs. They traded for Darnold because they wanted to, not because they had to. You think Fields would have been another mistake. Others may feel that he would have been a solution to the problem had they drafted him. If this is another rebuild year, Rhule doesn't have to worry about wins as much, so Darnold being a short term answer doesn't matter. Rhule just has to show that the team is buying into what he is saying and showing some improvement. 2022 and beyond will be a different story though. I'm a long time Panther fan as well. You wanting the next Cam is your problem. I want the guy that can help the team become a consistent winner and finally have back to back winning seasons. Edit: Just saw your other post about not finding a Cam clone, but a franchise QB. You should have just said franchise QB instead of the next Cam. -
Dell was wrong about the Clippers getting open looks because of Leonard. They are getting open looks because the Hornets have been giving them up for years.
