"The Patriots treat players like crap"
jayboogieman replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers

Understandable, but maybe they should give Carey and Richards this coming season to see if one of them can be good enough to take the job. If neither works out, then make a trade or attempt at a free agent.

Name a pro athlete that doesn't

Pass. He's not much of a scorer, he doesn't get boards, or block shots. I'd rather stick with the two young guys the team already has at center and see what they can do than make a trade for another team's castoff. And heck no to Cousins. He's on the downside of his career and still does too much stupid poo.

Would said trade mean we get two 3 & D guys to take the place of the Martin twins? If so, yes!
-
Haven't heard the interview, but thank goodness that he has the right mindset and is saying the right things. Hopefully they stick to that and let the guys they want to keep develop naturally instead of rushing things like the previous braintrust did with Kemba and Big Al.

Could Taylor Moton become the Panthers' left tackle permanently?

Even if Moton is average at best as an LT, he might be the best available this year. -
The Draft Thread/Center,Center,Center
jayboogieman replied to rippadonn's topic in Charlotte Hornets
Haven't watched that video. If the third Ball brother doesn't shoot or play defense any better than his brothers, he would have to be a hard pass. The Hornets need scoring and defense instead of another ball handler. -
The Draft Thread/Center,Center,Center

I could see that happening, especially if they don't resign Graham and/or Monk. Or if they trade Terry. Sure, they could put Hayward at the 2 spot like Batum or Paul George, but he might not play well there against faster 2 guards or if a team is running 2 point guards. Also, Mitch might not want to keep playing the Martins as much as JB does. -
I highly doubt Hayward gets traded. If he misses a lot of games next season, I could see it happening after that though. Resigning Graham should be a gimme. As your quote says, he is a success story the team can point to. Plus, he doesn't seem to mind being a backup for Ball. I'm torn on Terry. He's a good scorer most nights, which the Hornets really need, but he also seems to go cold at the worst time. If Terry would sign a team friendly deal, then go for it. If not, trade him for what they can get. Monk? I've never been a fan and don't care if he leaves. They could sign or draft someone else to replace him easily enough. Riller might actually be able to do so and he's already on the roster.

Hopefully they are smarter than overpaying for one of those vets in FA. The team already has two young guys that they need to kick the tires on. They might be serviceable or better. They might be worse too. Either way, they need playing time to see what they are. Hopefully the team drafts the best available at 11 instead of trading the pick or more for a guy like Turner. Overpaying for a vet or in a trade for Turner would be a very Hornets move.

Yeah. Davis was a selling point to whoever would bite on buying the franchise. There was 0 chance he was going anywhere else but New Orleans. -

I wonder if Jordan pissed off Stern at some point years ago. That's the only thing I can think of for why Charlotte hasn't had the first pick since getting a second team. -
Yeah. If Cho was still in charge, that would be a Hornets move with keeping Gordon on the team and giving up younger guys. Miles is a keeper. PJ is a maybe, but he could make a leap next year like Miles did this year.
-
I wouldn't want one of the older guys. The timing doesn't really line up with the rest of the roster age wise, and there is also the mileage to consider.

I would love for it to. -
I like your thought process, but are there really any post guys anymore? The days of Shaq, Barkley, and even Big Al are over with. It's all about the 3 or getting fouled driving to the rim these days and that is sad.

Celtics Trading Kemba Walker to OKC
jayboogieman replied to Prowler2k18's topic in Charlotte Hornets
As I said, he's been far from great. The team has improved under him financially and in the community over the years, and slightly on the court the last couple seasons. I'm not saying put up a statue, but it's ok to give him a little credit. -
Ditto

Most people might not have expected a winning season at this time last year, but once the season started you had people talking playoffs until reality set in. Expectations change all the time, especially for the more emotional folks. Teardown year, rebuild year, normal year, or whatever doesn't matter to the general public perception. All that matters to the nonhardcore Panther fans is that last season was more of the same.

The owners of the Knicks, WFT, and Jets all beg to differ. Jordan has been far from great, but like rippadonn stated, he has gotten better over the years. -
I disagree. Old ownership or new, it hasn't mattered. Under the current owner and both coaches he has employed, the team has only posted losing seasons. The new GM gets a pass until they play the upcoming season.

The systematic dumbing down of the American population in the pursuit of a new serf class that barely scrapes by living paycheck to paycheck so the wealthy and ruling class gets richer while said serf class accepts their lot in life as long as their "side" wins.
